Chapter 132
A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez )
Chapter 132
âIâm not joking. Youâre not getting any younger, and you still havenât found a girlfriend to give me grandchildren,â Emily retorted, clearly
frustrated.
Connor looked slightly exasperated and glanced at Camila. âDonât mind my mom. She just loves to tease.â
Camila felt a sudden pain in her heart. She gave an awkward laugh. âI understand.â
Emily shot her son a glare, clearly unimpressed. She leaned closer to Connor and whispered, âIâm not joking. You are infuriating.â
Connor frowned helplessly.
Camila wasnât sure what they were talking about exactly, but she guessed it involved her. She saw a hint of displeasure on Connorâs face, bowed her head, and quietly sipped her soup.
When dinner ended, Emily stood up, smiling, âCamila, you must come and visit again soon.â
Camila looked at Connor, and seeing that he had no objection, she nodded, âSure, Iâd love to.â
âTake care,â the two said as they saw Emily off to her car.
Suddenly, Connorâs relaxed demeanor changed, becoming stern. He looked intently at Camila, his tone leaving no room for doubt. âBack to the office.â
Although surprised, Camila quickly adjusted her mood and responded, âOkay.â
The two left the restaurant. The driver saw them and immediately opened the car door.
Connor and Camila got into the car, and they smoothly drove away from the restaurant. In the car, Connor adjusted his collar and said, âCore Techâs product launch is this Thursday.â
Camilaâs eyes widened. CoreTech and Future Inc. had always been rivals. Future Inc.âs own product launch was scheduled for Friday! Most crucially, earlier in the year, CoreTech had poached several engineers from the tech department at Future Inc. They leaked to the media that their new product was a robotic dog, clearly stealing Future Goâs concept.
Even if their technology wasnât as advanced, launching first could give them the upper hand and sway public opinion, making Future Inc. look like the imitators.
Connor looked at Camila and asked softly, âWhat do you think?â
Camila took a deep breath and answered seriously, âCould we possibly move our launch up?â
Connor replied, âThe earliest we could reschedule is Wednesday, as the invitations have already been sent. It might be difficult for media personnel to attend on such short notice.â
Camila suggested, âWe could do a simultaneous live stream, both online and inâperson.â
Connor nodded in agreement.
Back at the office, the place was abuzz with light and activity. The staff had already heard about CoreTechâs forthcoming product launch and were awaiting Connorâs instructions with grave expressions.
âExecutive meeting in 15 minutes,â Connor told Camila.
âYes,â she replied immediately, getting to work on the meeting notices and relevant documents.
Alan followed Connor into his office. He closed the door and said with a grave look, âCoreTech intentionally released their product launch news today to catch us off guard.â
Connor sat at his desk, tapping his fingers lightly on the surface, his gaze dark and thoughtful.
After a moment, he looked up at Alan. âGo on.â
Alan took a deep breath. âJaiden officially pulled his investment from CoreTech and transferred his shares, but the new shareholder is just a frontâ

âI found out that the new shareholder knows Lauren. Do we need Mr. Ray to intervene?â
Connor pondered for a moment and replied, âThereâs no need for my grandfather to step in. Iâll handle it myself.â
