Chapter 141
A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez )
Chapter 141
âScott⦠Scott has been in a car accident and is at the hospital!â Marc said in agony, his voice trembling.
Camila was stunned. A chill spread through her heart. So, this was the way Marc showed his love for his child.
Central Hospital.
Marc walked haltingly as if he had aged ten years in an instant. His face was pale, his eyes brimming with endless worry and anxiety as he frantically asked where his sonâs operating room was.
Camila and Connor silently followed behind him.
At the entrance to the operating room, Betty was already waiting there, her face etched with concern. Besides her, several police officers were present.
Marc saw the officers, and his face changed. He realized that this situation might not be so simple. He nervously held Bettyâs hand, repeatedly murmuring, âMy sonâ¦â
Camila scoffed at him. Turning to Connor, she said, âLetâs go.â
At that moment, Tabitha approached leisurely, arm in arm, with a middleâaged man. When she saw Camila, Tabithaâs brows furrowed slightly, her tone carrying a hint of disdain, âWhat are you doing here?â
Camila ignored her question, her gaze settling on the middleâaged man Tabitha was armâinâarm with.
âMy dear sonâinâlaw, please take a seat. Scott⦠heâs still in surgery,â Marc grasped Griffinâs hand, his face full of sorrow.
Griffin nodded, his gaze sweeping over everyone before he sat down on a nearby chair. His expression was mostly unreadable, yet it was clear he wasnât overly concerned about Scottâs condition.
Camila was taken aback. This man was about the same age as Marc and was⦠Tabithaâs husband!
Connor was also surprised. He had researched Tabithaâs family recently, and Tabitha was still single.
âI need to ask a favor,â Marc said pleadingly to Griffin. âCould you talk to the other suppliers and ask them not to demand immediate payment from Sherrill Supermarket?â
Griffin smiled slightly, his tone cool and detached. âMr. Marc, you know that in business, interests come first. Iâve already considered the debt you owe me as a wedding gift. As for the rest, Iâm really powerless to help.â
âBut, weâre family. You canât just stand by and watch us fail,â Marc urged.
âIâve decided to stop supplying fresh produce to Sherrill Supermarket starting tomorrow,â Griffin replied with a glance.
âWhat do you mean by this? Whyâre you kicking us when weâre down?â Marc exclaimed angrily, glaring at Griffin.
At that moment, Betty quietly pulled on Tabithaâs sleeve, hinting for her to intervene. However, Tabitha just scoffed coldly, her tone indifferent. âMom, you know, Iâve married Griffin. How could I harm his familyâs interests for the sake of the Sherrill family?â
âYou! After all these years, Iâve raised you, fed you, clothed youâhow can you say such things?â Marc erupted in anger, his face filled with disappointment as he glared at Tabitha.
Tabitha remained silent, merely giving him a cold glance. She knew what this meantâif Griffin stopped supplying fresh produce, the supermarketâs business would be greatly affected.
Connor leaned close to Camila and whispered, âDidnât expect to see such a spectacle.â
Camila nodded with a smile. She might as well have been holding a bag of popcorn.
Just then, a police officer approached, holding a forensic report, his expression very serious. âWho is Scottâs family member?â the officer asked, his voice cold.
am his father,â Marc replied.
The officer handed Marc the report. âThis is the alcohol content in Scottâs blood, 316.9mg/100ml, which indicates drunk driving. The accident was caused by drunk driving, and the victimâs condition is very
critical.â
