Chapter 5
A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez )
Chapter 5
âCome on, trust me! Heâs tall and attractive, better looking than any movie star!â Dana scratched her head and chuckled, âAlthough Eve only seen him from a distance a few timesâ
Camila gave an awkward smile. âNo, I was wondering about his work style. You know, no one, male or female, has lasted more than a week in that position. Is it because the expectations are so high, or is he just a bit eccentric?â
âWhat are you thinking about now?â Dana playfully tapped her on the head, laughing. âThe standards are high, and decisiveness is a must. His abilities are well recognized. The company was established just five years ago and is already a top player in the industry.â
She spoke with admiration, propping up her chin and studying Camilaâs face with a smile. As his personal assistant, youâll have to handle a lot of his personal affairs, so his expectations might be even higher. Youâre smart and clever, and with your angelic beauty and stunning figure, I think heâll be quite considerate.â
Camila sighed. âI might also be sent back here soon. Luckily, Mr. Cash has promised to keep the assistant position open for me. Otherwise, Iâd be out of a job.â
âDonât worry so much. The big boss is really a good guy, Dana reassured her, patting her on the shoulder.
âIâm gonna set a small goal for myself, like staying for a month.â It was double her current salary, so Camila certainly wanted to achieve
Dana smiled and said, âYou lack ambition. Iâm off to a meeting.â
âBye, thanks, Danaâ¦â
Afterward, Camila checked the headquarters address. The headquarters building was located in a high-tech industrial area, home to hundreds of listed companies. All the well-known major firms were there, and the office park was brightly lit until late at night, filled with various legends and around-the-clock stories.
Impressive, and far from where she lived, with no direct transportation. Taking the bus and then the subway was the fastest route and would still take an hour and a half. Traffic jams could make it even longer, meaning her commute time was several times longer.
Camila felt quite disheartened. She shut down her computer and left work. It was only ten oâclock when she got on the bus.
An hour laterâ¦
âCamila, what are you doing back at this time?â Cole was surprised to see her.
âHey Cole, got off work early today and came to check on my mom,â Camila responded with a smile.
At that moment, Cole picked up an apple and, smiling at Camila, said, âHereâs your favorite apple.â
Camila waved her hand. âThank you. You keep it. Iâm heading back to the store, bye!â
âHey!â Cole walked out with the apple. There was no one at the entrance of the fruit shop. He turned and looked towards âCamiâs Deli grinning broadly
Camila sneaked into the shop just before lunchtime. Several tables were occupied. Claire was standing by a large pot, cooking ravioli.
âCan I have a bowl of chicken ravioli, no vegetables, please?â
Hearing the familiar voice, Claire looked up and saw her daughter, her lips curving into a smile. âOh, Camila, why didnât you tell me you were coming? I didnât make lunch.â
âI felt like having some ravioli, Camila said with a smile.
âIâll cook some for you. Itâs Monday today. Why are you back so early?â Claire asked, puzzled.
âIâve been temporarily transferred to headquarters, and the company gave me the day offâ
âHeadquarters? Isnât that far from where you live? How long is the commute?â Claire said, concerned.
âNot long. Iâm only transferred there for a while.â
âCheck, pleaseâ A customer called out.
*Coming, Camila responded, smiling at the customer, âOne small bowl of ravioli for eight dollars.â
