Chapter 86
A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez )
Chapter 86
After his stomach had settled, he finally began to recover. He unbuttoned his shirt and splashed his face with cold water to freshen up.
âMr. Connor, are you feeling better?â Camila asked.
A few seconds later, Connor opened the bathroom door, his face still speckled with droplets of water.
Camila pulled out a few tissues from her purse and carefully dabbed his face dry. âStill feeling sick?â she asked softly.
âMuch better.â
Camila unwrapped a piece of candy and popped it into his mouth, explaining, âI know you donât like sweets, but your mouth must be filled with the bitter taste of alcohol. Although it wonât sober you up. Iâll make your mouth feel a bit better.â
Connor held the candy in his mouth, leaning weakly against the wall.
The orange flavor slowly spread through his mouth, mingling with his saliva before he swallowed. âToo sweet, he muttered, his brow furrowing slightly in discomfort.
Seeing his docile demeanor, Camila couldnât help but smile.
âWhatâs so funny?â Connor asked, slightly annoyed.
âWhy donât
you like sweets?â
âTheyâre just too cloying and disgusting.â
âDidnât you
âNoâ
eat candy as a
a child?â
They stood chatting by the bathroom door until the candy had completely dissolved in Connorâs mouth.
Retuming to the hall, Camila was shocked by the scene before them. The villa had been invaded by a bevy of scantily clad women.
Everywhere, there were embraces, kisses, and more explicit actions taking place unabashedly in the presence of others. Some men had already disappeared, likely into one of the bedrooms.
It was a real eye opener to the decadent world of the wealthy.
âYou two disappeared for so long, finally decided to show up?â Seeing they emerged together Logan teased.
Connor shot him a glare
Logan leaned in and whispered, âI tried to get the property management company to terminate the supermarket contract, but Pamela rejected it. She must have checked up on itâ
The Weiss family was a major shareholder in Passos Corporation, and had more authority than Connor, who was not employed by the company.
Connor frowned. âHave the driver take her home,â Connor said sternly.
Camila paused, puzzled by what Logan might have whispered, and why Connor chose not to leave. The scene around her was hard to
ignore
She smiled and said, âThank you for the hospitality, Mr. Logan. I wonât disturb you any longer.â
Before leaving, she glanced once more at the various intimate acts around the sofa area, feeling a bit stifled.
Connor said, âIâll walk you outâ
Logan added, âTogether.â
The two men escorted Camila out of the villa, Connor specifically instructing the driver to drive safely. âText me when you get home.â âWill do Camila managed a strained smile.
âAll men are the same. You got your fair share of girls and still pretend to care about me?â Camila thought to herself.
âMr. Connor, Mr. Logan, good night,â she said as she got into the car, which slowly drove away from the villa. Connor stood under the porch, lighting a cigarette.
Logan continued. âPamela found out about the police station issue and rejected the termination using the excuse that the contract hadnât expired and that reâtendering would cost. She doesnât want you interfering with Passos Corporation.â
âAlso, I heard Haylieâs back in town.â
Connor smoked silently, expressionless.
âAs your friend, I advise you to think about your feelings for herâare they guilt, gratitude, or something more.â Logan said earnestly.
