15: I'll Give You A Head Start
Bad Boys Do Cry
I shouldn't have said that. Shit.
Oliver did not appreciate my comment about his smell, at all. I tried to get away and run from my problems. My problems being Oliver wanting to kill me. But since he had his hands on my waist already he was able to hold me in place. I wriggled around, trying to escape his grasp but he was too strong.
"Let me go! I don't want to die!"
"I'll give you a head start."
He smirks a little and leans forward. My heart stops and I stand still, stopping my wriggling. I probably look like a fish out of water right now. I stare at him confused, but he leans forward more and brings his lips to my ear. His grip loosens from my waist, enough so that I could break free if I wanted to. But I wait patiently for his next word.
"Run," He whispers.
While I want to stay, liking the feeling if his breath hitting my neck, I know I can't. If I do, I'm dead, and I'm too young to die. So, I follow his instructions and I sprint away from him.
At first I'm concentrated on running away from him, but then I realize he's the fastest player on the team. There's no way I can outrun him even if I drank four energy drinks. I looked back to see how close he was to me, expecting him to at least be far away enough that I'd have a few more seconds of freedom.
I was wrong. Oliver Grey was hot on my heals, and his shadow was already looming over me.
Looking back made me lose my balance and I stumbled over myself. Since he was so close he didn't have enough time to react and he hit me, knocking us both over. I closed my eyes and braces for impact. It was going to be a hard fall.
But I never hit the grass. Instead, Oliver was able to grab me and flip us over so that his back would take the impact instead of my boobs.
I opened my eyes to find blue ones already staring back at me. I couldn't help myself and I started laughing. I lifted my upper body a little so that I wasn't flattened against Oliver who looked like he'd gotten the wind knocked out of him.
I'm about to get off of him when his hands go to my hips and stop me in place. This makes me realize that I'm straddling him in the middle of the football field. And I was laughing like a weirdo while doing it. My laugh comes to a hard stop and I look back down to Oliver who's staring at me with an amused smirk.
"Got you."
I smile at him and lean back down so my face is right in front of his. His grip on my hips tighten and I smirk a little.
"Oh, but I've got you," I whisper.
I tighten my legs that are on the outside of his hips. Before I can do anything else he flips us over so that he's on top now. His hands that were on my hips are now holding him up and his legs now have mine captured.
"I beg to differ."
I look into his eyes and catch myself shifting from his mouth to his bright blue eyes. He smirks and does the same, his eyes going to my lips but snapping back up to my eyes quickly. I bite my lip and he huffs a little but stays silent.
"Grey, we need you!"
"Grey!"
Oliver grunts and rolls off me, standing up easily. He looks to me and extends a hand to help me up. I accept it and let him do most of the work as he pulls me back up to my feet. I give a smile as a thanks and he squeezes my hand before running off to Grayson that had called him.
I watch him as he runs off and falls in line with Grayson as they make their way back to the locker rooms for whatever they have to do. Before the door closes I catch Oliver smack Grayson on the head and I giggle to myself.
I see Levi and Emma making their way to the parking lot and I run to catch up to them. They're laughing when I get close and fall in line with them, giving Emma a hug.
"You did amazing!"
"Thanks, Hazel. We're going to the after party, you coming?" She asks as she points to Levi and herself.
"Nah, I'm gonna head home."
"You sure?" Emma asks.
"You got her to show up to a game, that's more than anybody's done," Levi speaks up.
I laugh and nod, "He's right. Thanks for convincing me."
She nods and smiles at me, "I told you you'd have fun."
I smile and hug the both of them as they continue to Levi's car. They get in and drive off and I wave goodbye to them. I look around at the now empty field and almost empty parking lot. I walk around and when I find Oliver's car I make my way to it and sit on the hood.
After twenty minutes, I see the football players finally make their way out. Thankfully they came out when they did because I was about to start walking home if they didn't show up soon. It was getting chilly now that it was October and the nights were always cold. Being in a shirt with a skirt wasn't really ideal in the weather.
Oliver is talking to Grayson and Ally as they make their way to the parking lot. I can't see their faces because it's too dark outside, but it's light enough to see what their doing. Ally sees me first and shakes her head before returning her attention to Oliver. She latched onto Oliver's arm and grabs it with both of hers, leaning into him. Oliver looks over but doesn't push her away, instead returning to his conversation with Grayson.
He doesn't spot me until Grayson points towards me, making Oliver look in my direction, catching me staring. I blush but I know he can't see it and I'm thankful for that. When he sees me he shrugs Ally off and leaves the two behind as he makes his way over to his car, and me.
When he's close enough that I can see his face, I smile at him. He walks to the passenger side and opens it up and climbs in closing the door. I look at the car confused but then he lowers the window.
"You owe me ice cream."
