Zohaib was starring at the rose bouquet with a wide smile on his face. He had booked a trip to Skardu, he remembered once Faryal told him how much she wanted to visit that place.
"I hope she likes all this", he mumbled.
He heard a soft knock on the door and turned around. His eyes fell on Zain.
"Zohaib bhai take Zahra, Bhabhi told me to give Zahra to you.", Zain said holding dressed up Zahra.
Zohiab looked at Zahra and frowned. "Where did she get ready?",
"Where is Faryal?", Zohaib asked Zain and took Zahra from him.
"Bhabhi is getting ready in Mahum baji's room", Zain replied.
"Oh!", Zohaib cleared his throat "Alright",
"See you later bhai, I need to help Huzaifa bhai", Zain stated. Zohib nodded and Zain left the room.
Zohaib shifted his eyes towards Zahra she was looking pretty in a pink frock paired up with a floral headband and silver shoes.
"You look so pretty Zahra", he kissed her cheek. "Ma'Sha'Allah".
"I was waiting for both of you here,. I thought no matter how much she wants to ignore me at the end of the day she will have to come here to get ready", he turned his gaze towards the flowers and added, "I was going to confess my feelings. Zahra why didn't you tell her that you wanted to get ready in your room, han? You could have helped your daddy because you knew my planning since morning".
Zahra giggled.
"Hans lo Zahra tum bi hans lo (Laugh Zahra, keep laughing.) you are enjoying my situation...that's very bad you know. Faryal's behavior is making me nervous already", he mumbled the last part.
"But I'll do that tonight, she won't be able to escape then", he smiled.
*****
Zohaib roamed around the house with Zahra in his arms. The house was filled by so many people but his eyes were involuntarily shifting around to find her. His lips stretched into a smile after spotting her talking with the guests in the lawn where the stage was set up.
She was wearing pink, as usual, twining with Zahra. Her simplicity made her stand out from the rest of the people and he wasn't able to move his gaze away from her.
Uzair and Roshni were sitting on the stage. Tayi Ammi handed them their rings. Zohaib walked up to Faryal and stood beside her.
"Hey!", Zohaib said.
Faryal looked at him and mumbled "Hi".
Uzair and Roshni exchanged their rings. Both the families congratulated each other. There was a constant smile pestered on everyone's face.
After a photoshoot, Uzair and Roshni stepped down from the stage, and he introduced Roshni to all his friends and family.
It was time for Mahum and Huzaifa's Nikkah.
Mahum wore a traditional maroon-colored lehnga with the same color work on it. Her face was covered with a veil. Huzaifa and Mahum were sitting on the chairs adjacent to each other with a white floral curtain between them, exactly the way they both decided.
The Qari sahb started the Nikkah.
"Qubool hai",
"Qubool hai", They both said.
"Dono soch lo ab bi waqt hai badh mein na kehna hum na bola nahi tha (Think about it we still have time, don't complain after that we didn't warn you)", Usman joked, everyone laughed.
"Qubool hai", Mahum smiled under her veil.
"Yipeeee", Meehsa clapped. "I'm so happy for both of them".
"Can I see my wife now?", Huzaifa asked. "I've not seen her yet".
"No", Mom teased him.
"Dadi Jan", Huzaifa looked at Dadi Jan for help.
"Do not tease my grandson. Mahum is your wife Huzaifa, you can do whatever you want", Dadi Jan said.
Huzaifa stood up and hugged Dadi Jan.
"Go see her", Dadi Jan patted his back. Huzaifa nodded. He went past through the floral curtain. He removed the veil from her face, she looked up and smiled at him.
He took her face in between his palms and kissed her forehead. Everyone stared at him in surprise, he turned around and shrugged, "What? she is my wife".
"She indeed is", Mom smiled.
Later on, the post-wedding rituals started. Anyone one could tell just by a single glance at both of them that they were deeply in love.
The guilt in Zohaib's heart increased as he realized he couldn't give anything to Faryal. She must have had dreams like Mahum but she never said once. At that time he had his own reasons but still a girl like Faryal deserved much more.
"Let's find the ring", Faryal placed the pot in front of them.
"I'll win that, clearly", Mahum said smugly.
"Let's see", Huzaifa rolled his eyes.
"The one who wins rules the other one", Meesha said.
"Yup", Mahum inserted her hand hand inside the pot and Huzaifa followed her.
Huzaifa caught Mahum's hand while finding the ring. She frowned and glanced at him, he was acting normally. She tried to snatch her hand but instead, he tightened his grip on her hand and smiled.
Mahum glared at him but Huzaifa cooly moved his gaze away.
"Enjoying much Ahan! let me teach you a lesson", Mahum smirked.
"Chachi Jan I can't do this ritual", she made an innocent face.
"Why Mahum?", Mom frowned.
Mahum unexpectedly pulled out their joined hands out of the pot and said "See chachi jan, how will I find the ring if he won't leave my hand", Huzaifa's mouth fell open in disbelieve. He turned his gaze around everyone was laughing.
He flushed and quickly left her hand.
"Huzaifa Bhai is already beguiled. I don't think so we need to find out who is going to rule whom", Zain laughed like a maniac holding his stomach.
"Zain", Huzaifa threw daggers at him. Zain quickly stopped laughing but the moment her eyes met with Meesha's he again burst into a peal of laughter.
"Enough Zain, Mahum Huzaifa complete the ritual", Meesha tried to be serious.
Huzaifa and Mahum again started to find the ring.
"Where are you?", Mahum mumbled while finding the ring. Huzaifa laughed.
Huzaifa found the ring, he looked up at Mahum she was more focused to find the ring. He thought for a moment and pushed the ring towards her.
"Ahhh! I found the ring", Mahum cheered and showed the ring to everyone. "I told you I'll win", Mahum said proudly to Huzaifa and he smiled.
The guests started taking their leave after a while and the family members retiered back to their rooms.
Faryal was sitting alone in the living area.
"Where should I go?", she mumbled. "I can not face him".
She stood up and went towards the room, her old room where she was used to stay before. On the other hand Zohaib kept waiting for her in his room and eventually fell asleep sitting on the chair.
*****
Mahum was standing in front of the mirror, drying her hair with a hair dryer. Huzaifa stepped out of the washroom and walked up to her.
He wrapped his hand around Mahum's waist and pulled her towards himself.
"I've never thought that I'll hold you like this and you won't salp me", he kissed her cheek. Mahum smiled and lowered her eyes. "Tell me it's not a dream", he murmured grazing his lips on her cheek. She placed the hair dryer on the dressing table.
"Aese na sharmao biwi lug rahi ho. (Don't get shy like this, you look my wife then) ", he whispered. Seeing the bold and blunt Mahum getting shy was surprising him.
She looked up quickly and glared at his reflection.
"Biwi hi tou hun mein tumhri (I'm your wife already)", she turned around and faced him.
"Thanks for reminding me", he chuckled and pulled her closer. He was towering over her.
"Aur mein sharma nahi rahi (And I'm not getting shy)", she said.
Huzaifa glanced at her lips and then back into her eyes." If you are not getting shy then let me confirm it....should I?", he asked huskily.
She nodded confidently. They maintained their eye contact, he took her face in his hands and slowly leaned down. Her hands slid around him.
He pressed his lips against her and her eyes automatically shut down. He began softly, slowly gaining passion. She kissed him back. The kiss wasn't demanding but more inquisitive.
He bit her lower lip, she moaned and stepped back. He glanced at her, his eyes held an unfamiliar intensity. She was looking back at him and breathing heavily.
He leaned forward again, "Mahu-",
She lightly pushed him back and got out of his grip. She walked up to the bed, keeping her back to him.
He turned around and stared at her back with wriggled eyebrows.
"What happened?", he asked.
"Let's talk", she said. "Can we do that?". She sat down on the bed.
"Okay, as you wish", he stated. He stepped forward and settled down on the bed beside her. She started talking about random stuff and the things she has done with her friends. He was clearly getting annoyed, she glanced at him and smirked.
"And you no what Zara did, Zara was-",
"I am sleepy", he cut her sentence and laid down on the bed. He covered his eyes with his forearm. She smiled mischievously. She just wanted to tease him and was clearly successful in doing that. She laid down over him, with her hands folded on his chest and her chin placed above the back of her hands.
"Huzaifa baat tou sun lo (Huzaifa listen to me)", she said innocently.
"Let me sleep", he said. "It's our first night together and all you want to discuss the stupid friends of your's, sara an-",
"Zara", she corrected him and removed his arm from his head.
"I don't care", he retorted. "If you want to talk, bandha koe romantic baat hi kar letha hai akhir shaddi hovi hai hamari (One can say something romantic instead, after all, we have got married)", his nostrils flared, her nonchalance was annoying the heck out of him.
"I was teasing you", She smiled and grazed the tip of her nose on his neck. Her touch was leaving his skin ablaze. "Huzaifa when did you fell in love with me?", she asked.
He held her waist and rolled over, exchanging their positions. "I was in love with you since forever, it's just I wasn't ready to accept the reality", he whispered and stroked his nose against her nose and slightly brushed his lips against hers.
She wrapped her hands around his neck.
"When did you fell in love with me", he questioned.
"I don't know Huzaifa, how and when it happened. I can't imagine my life without you that's all I know", she confessed.
He leaned down and brushed his lips against her. Once. Twice. Thrice.
It was his turn to tease her.
On the fourth brush, she groaned. She pulled him towards herself and pressed her lips against his. He smiled into the kiss.
"I love you so much Huzaifa", she said in between.
"I love you too", he replied and deepened the kiss. He backed off once they were out of breath.
"You are lying, you don't love me", she said.
"Mein apni chahaton ka hisaab lene beth jaoun tou tum mera yaad karna bi na lota sako gi (If I start to account my love\longing for you, you won't be able to return even how much I remembered you)."
"You just have to say once, and I won't go Huzaifa.", she said. Her eyes pleaded him.
His heart ached to see her like that. He heaved a sigh.
"You have a flight tomorrow, get some rest", he said softly and hugged her.
"You are bossy and arrogant", She wanted to push him back but instead hugged him tightly, because that's all she had with him for now and she didn't know when she is going to feel his presence again.
"And you still love this bossy and arrogant me", he whispered.
"I can't help it", she grumbled. He tightly hugged her.
After that none of them spoke a word. Her irregular breaths slowly turned into regular ones and he realized she was asleep.
Flashback:
"Taya Jan you called me here", Huzaifa said.
Taya Jan turned around and motioned him to take a seat. Huzaifa settled down on the chair. The silence was making him curious. He nervously tapped his foot on the floor.
"Congratulations on the project you got", Taya Jan stated.
"Thanks, Taya Jan", Hjuzaifa smiled. "It was my dream project, I worked so hard for it".
"You have taken the responsibilities from your dad at such a young age. Your achievements and hard work has always been impressive",
"Thanks!",
"So you really want to marry Mahum?", Taya Jan asked.
"Yes", Huzaifa replied confidently.
"Are you sure?",
"100%",
Taya Jan heaved a sigh. "Look Huzaifa beta don't get me wrong. I love you just like Uzair and Usman. You will be the best life partner for her but still when it comes to taking a decision for my daughter I've my conditions".
"I understand Taya Jan", Huziafa nodded. "What type of conditions you are talking about?".
"Mahum is my only daughter. I know she is careless about her career but at least I want her to complete her studies. Being a father it's my responsibility to show the right path to my child.", "
Taya Jan believe me I would never stop her from doing that. It's up to her what she wants to do", Huzaifa tried to convince him.
"If you won't stop her from going abroad I know she would cancel the plan by herself. I trust you but I don't trust my own daughter in this matter.", Taya Jan looked at him.
"What do you want me to do", Huzaifa asked meekly. He had a feeling Taya Jan was up to something.
"I want you to convince her to take the opportunity even if she doesn't want to go",
Huzaifa stilled. He opened his mouth to speak but didn't know what to say.
"You can shift abroad with her if you have any problem", Taya Jan added.
"Neither I want to pressurize her into something she don't want to do nor I can leave my dad alone here with all the stuff happening in the business, he needs me", Huzaifa replied.
"If you can not do either of these, I'm sorry I won't agree to this marriage",
"I'll try to do that Taya Jan, don't worry", Huzaifa said quickly. "She will go, I'll make her understand just don't cancel the wedding".
"I knew you can do this", Taya Jan smiled leaving Huzaifa's thoughts into a mess.
Flashback ends.
He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "You have no idea how hard it is for me to send you away. You have no idea Mahum. Our parents sacrifice so much for us if this can make them happy I'll do that. Before becoming life partners we have other obligations to fulfill too. You make your parents proud, I'll make mine. Saath k rehne k leye tou In'Sha'Allah sari zindagi parhi hai. Sirf do saal ki baat hai. (We have a lifetime in front of us to be together. It's just the matter of two years)", he kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly.
*****
"Kabhi masroof lamho mein achanak dil dhadke tou samajh lena muhabbat ka ishara hai tumhe hum ne pukara hai ( If your heartbeat suddenly increases when you are busy, consider it as a sign that I'll be calling you", Huzaifa whispered in Mahum's ear.
Mahum turned around and hugged him, "You have become a poet",
"Uhu", he held her in his embrace "At the touch of love everyone become a poet".
They stayed like this for a while listening to eachother's heartbeat.
"Mahum-",
"I know I'm getting late, we need to go to airport", she said.
"Hmm", he hummed.
She stepped back and smiled at him, "Let's go Huzaifa, if that's what makes you happy I'll do that for you".
"Thanks Mahum", He kissed her forehead and smiled at her and then went downstairs holding their hands. Mahum met everyone and left for the airport whereas Dada jan and Taya abu's family went back to the Lahore to the haveli. The farewell was hard and emotional for everyone.
*****
Faryal poured down water in a teapot and turned on the stove to prepare the tea. She had a terrible headache due to all the crying and sleeplessness and thought maybe a cup of tea would help her nerves calm down.
"Are you ignoring me", Zohaib stood adjacent to her with his back pressed to the kitchen island..
"No, why wou-ld I", she stuttered and didn't spare him a glance. She mindlessly picked up a jar and opened its lid. His presence was making her jittery.
He snatched the jar from her hand and said, "It's salt".
She frowned and looked at the jar, it was indeed a salt container. He put that jar back and handed her the sugar.
She kept stirring the tea, her ignorance was annoying him.
"Where were you last night?", he asked softly.
"In my room", she replied.
"No you were not, I kept waiting for you but you didn't come", he replied.
"In my room, not yours", she said.
He frowned and then the realization dawned upon him. that she was talking about the guest room in which she was living months ago.
"Is it all about what happened the other day, I've apologized to you already. I know I should have asked for ÂÂÂÂÂyour perm-", he heaved a sigh. She turned off the stove.
"Tabiyut theek hai tumhri? (Are you okay?)", he forwarded his hand towards her forehead.
She moved away leaving his hand in the air. "Dimagh kharab hogya hai mera (I've lost my mind)", she fought back a storm of emotions rushing into her heart.
He grabbed her elbow and pulled her towards himself. He narrowed his eyes and asked. "Yeh kese baatien kar rahi ho tum? (What are you saying?)".
Her eyes were fixed on his chest.
"If something is wrong we can talk it out", he said.
"I don't want to talk", she struggled but instead he tightened his grip around her elbow.
"Naraz ho muj say? (Are you angry at me?)", he questioned. His tone was laced with sincerity.
"Khud say naraz hun (I'm angry at myself)", she replied.
"Let me go, please", tears welled up in her eyes.
He shook his head and asked adamantly "What's wrong?",
"I am so stupid", she sobbed.
He got worried at her spontaneous outburst, "Shh it's-",
"No", she stopped him.
"Faryal lis-",
"Don't say anything. Please let me go", She wailed her heart out and closed her eyes. She was getting afraid that what will happen if he will come to know about her feelings for him.
"If you don't want to talk, be it. You want space, be it. I won't push you but please stop crying Faryal. I can't see you like that", he said in a comforting tone.
"I won't pressurize you", he repeated and left her arm. He surrendered his hands in the air and said softly. "Just don't cry".
She stopped crying and looked up at him longingly with tears-filled eyes.
"Zahra", the word came out of her mouth in almost a whisper and she ran out of the kitchen.
"I've messed up everything", he muttered and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
He filled a glass of water and drank it to ease his mind. With slow steps, he strode out of the kitchen walked towards his room.
He entered his room with a heavy heart.
"What will I tell Zahra if she asked me about Faryal", he glanced at a sleepy Zahra. "What will I tell her?", his heart ached.
He messaged the travel agency to cancel his reservation. He picked up the rose bouquet from the side table and walked up to the trash can. He moved his hand forward to dump it inside but the trash can but stopped. He wasn't able to gather his wits to that to the flowers, her flowers.
"You could have just listened to me once Faryal", he mumbled and heaved a sigh.
*****
Zohaib filled a spoon and brought it near Zahra's mouth. Zahra starred at him with wide eyes, blinking her eyes innocently, and said "Ammi".
Zohaib heaved a sigh, "Zahra you finish it first and I'll take you to your Ammi", he tried to convince her.
"Okay?", he entered the spoon in her mouth.
"I'm taking you to her anyway, she needs you", he mumbled.
He kept feeding her, Zahra was throwing fits but he knew how to handle her. He put aside the almost empty bowl.
"Let's take you to your Ammi", he picked up Zahra in his arms and her bag in which he had packed her basic essentials. He strode out of his room towards the door adjacent to his room.
He put down Zahra on the floor on her feet and placed her bag beside her. He took Zahra's hand and showed her how to knock.
"Call your Ammi", he whispered.
"Ammi", Zahra called out, and with her both hands she banged the door impatiently. Zohaib backed off and looked at her from a distance.
Faryal was lying on the bed with her face pressed against the pillow. The tears were nonstop falling from my eyes and absorbing into the pillow.
"Ammi...Ammiii", She heard Zahra's meek voice and irregular knocks at the door. She sat down on the bed.
"Zahra", she mumbled. She wiped her tears and rushed towards the door.
Faryal opened the door, Zahra stumbled. Faryal quickly held Zahra and sat down on the floor in front of her.
Zahra's eye lit up. "Ammi", Zahra said lovingly and smiled.
"Mera bacha (My baby)", Faryal hugged her tightly, holding Zahra close gave solace to her. She looked up and her gaze met with Zohaib, She lowered down her eyes again and picked up Zahra and her bag, and went back inside her room and closed the door behind herself.
Zohaib starred at the closed door for a few minutes.
"I didn't know the little world we have built somehow would crash like that", he mumbled. The pain and fear of seeing everything crashing in front of his eyes again were creeping into his heart. He heaved a sigh and entered his room.
Faryal sat down on the bed with Zahra on her lap. She kissed Zahra's hand first and then her face.
"I missed you so much, my love",
She thought about everything and her eyes welled up again.
"The lover in me is tired. There are thousands of emotions awoken in my heart yet I feel nothing but emptiness inside me, and this emptiness is frightening. It's like everything is going to fall apart and I'll lose both of you. How can he become my pain and a cure at the same time Zahra? I don't understand all this. I don't want to cry but I can't stop myself", she sniffed. Zahra was looking at her intently with a frown on her forehead.
Faryal looked at Zahra, she understood Zahra was getting worried. She wiped her tears "I know you get worried whenever I cry but Zahra I can't share all this with anyone except you". She hugged Zahra again.
*****
"Assalam u alikum!", Faryal settled down on the chair at the dining table beside Zohaib and placed Zahra on her lap.
"Walikum Assalam!", everyone greeted her back.
"Fary are you going somewhere?", Mom asked her.
"Yes, my classes are starting today", Faryal gave a half-smile to mom. Zohaib took a sip from the tea and looked at her under his eyes.
"Daddy", Zahra smiled at Zohaib and pushed herself towards him. He smiled and took her into his arms.
"Oh! sorry, it slipped out of my mind. So is Zohaib taking Zahra with him?", Mom raised an eyebrow.
"No", Faryal replied instantly. "I can take care of Zahra".
"Okay", Mom smiled.
"Zain are you ready for your first day?", Mom asked.
"Yup", Zain replied with enthusiasm.
"Take care-",
"Mom", Zain groaned. "I am not a kid, you don't have to worry. It's my first day in business school not in kindergarten. Treat me like an adult. Zahra is the baby of the house now, not me", Zain huffed.
"You will be a kid for us no matter how old you get", Huzaifa shrugged.
"Bhaii",
Huzaifa picked a key chain out of his pocket and threw it in Zain's direction. Zain quickly caught it. His eyes flickered between the keys and Huzaifa.
"Dad is it what I'm thinking?", Zain said in a hopeful tone.
"Yup", Dad nodded.
"Thank you, Thank you so muchhh for this", Zain bloomed.
"As promised, we gifted you the car after securing your admission in the business school. Zohaib and Huzaifa have done everything for you Zain", Dad said.
"Thanks bhai", he said to Zohaib and Huzaifa. They nodded and smiled
"Zain can you please drop me at my university?", Faryal asked.
"Sure bhabhi, why not?", Zain happily agreed.
Zohaib kissed Zahra, put her back on the Faryal's lap, and stood up.
"You have not had your breakfast", Mom said looking at his untouched plate.
"Mom I'm getting late, Allah hafiz", Zohaib replied and left the house. A few minutes later Dad and Huzaifa also left for the office.
"I'll grab my bag from the room", Zain said to which Faryal nodded.
"Fary if you don't mind me asking why did you shift back to the guest room again?", Mom questioned.
Faryal stilled.
"Mom knows that, maybe everyone knows that", she thought.
"Did Zohaib said anything to you?",
"No", Faryal shook her head. "No, he didn't".
"Then what's wrong? you tell me",
"My exams are just arou-", Faryal didn't know what else to tell mom.
"Is it so?", Mom heaved a sigh in relief. "I got worried for nothing. Knowing how things have evolved between you two I wasn't able to conclude anything wrong between both of you. May Almighty keep both of you and Zahra happy and prosperous together, forever", Mom smiled and put her hand on Faryal's hand.
Faryal gave her a tightlipped smile in reply.
"You are joining the office too", Faryal asked.
"Yeah, the house feels so lifeless since they are gone back so it's better for me to go to the office", Mom said.
"The house indeed feels lifeless", Faryal agreed.
*****
Zain entered the Khan villa with a box of sweets in his hands. He wanted to thank Amma Jan and Agha Jan for all the prayers they did for him during his admission process.
He looked around but no one was present in the living area.
"Amma Jan",
"Agha Jan", he called out.
"They must be in their room", he mumbled.
He walked through the corridor towards their room. He heard feeble voices, the voices were getting louder with each step.
"Amma Jan", he said as he reached in front of their room, the door was ajar. Amma Jan was sitting on the floor with her back facing the door.
"Amma Jan", Zain called out. Amma Jan quickly turned around "Zain...Zain see what happened to your Agha Jan", she let out a cry. The box of sweets fell from Zain's hand seeing the lifeless body of Agha Jan on the floor. He rushed towards them.
"He suddenly fell on the floor, no one is home I don't what to do", she sobbed.
Zain took Agha Jan's wrist in his hand, he could feel Agha Jan's pulse.
"Don't worry Amma Jan, nothing will happen to him", Zain said in a calm tone but internally he knew how terrified he was.
"Watchman", Zain mumbled and ran outside to call the watchman.
With the help of a watchman, Zain carried Agha Jan and took him to the hospital.
*****
Faryal's baba was pacing in the waiting area outside the operation theater. His hands were trembling and his heart was restless. Being a cardiologist he has treated thousands of patients in his lifetime but still seeing his father as one of a patient was unimaginable for him.
Zohaib stepped inside the waiting area.
"What happened to Agha Jan?", he asked Huzaifa.
"Cardiac arrest", Huzaifa replied. "The surgery is going on. The doctors said his condition is critical".
"Oh!", Zohaib fetched a deep breath. He walked towards baba Jan and talked to him for a while. He roamed his eyes around, mom was sitting beside Amma Jan, Zain was holding Zahra and Faryal was sitting at the far corner , her back towards everyone.
Zohaib strode in her direction, he could hear her hiccups and sniffs.
"Faryal", he called her name softly and sat down beside her.
She turned around and looked at him.
He placed his hand on her head and said, "Sub theek ho jae ga (Everything will be alright)",
"Zohaib", she burst into tears and hugged him.
"Hey! nothing will happen to Agha Jan", he rubbed her back.
"Baba was in the OT so he didn't pick up Amma Jan's call, the house helpers were out. Amma Jan was so numb to even think of anything. If Zain didn't go there, what would have happened?",
"Zain went there, right? why should we think about the impossibilities? The surgery is going on and In'Sha'Allah he will come out of it like a true champion he is", he consoled her. She slightly tilted her head up, her eyes shone with tears. "Agah Jan will be fine, haina? (right?)".
"Agha jan will be fine", he repeated her words to make her believe. "You pray for him".
Faryal nodded.
*****
"Congratulations Sir Ismail, the surgery was successful. Your father is out of danger but still, the next 48 hours are crucial as you know, we will keep him under observation", The doctor said.
"Thanks", baba Jan heaved a sigh in relief.
"Allah tera shukar (Thank God)", Amma jan stated.
Agha Jan was shifted to the room but nobody was allowed to meet him. In the afternoon a nurse told them that Agha Jan has gained consciousness and they could meet him.
One by one they started to go inside.
Amma Jan and baba jan first met him. Faryal was looking at them from the distance.
"Fary", Agha Jan called her in almost a whisper. He knew how sensitive she was. Faryal stepped forward and sat down on the chair beside the bed. Zahra was with her too.
"Look Zahra Agha Jan is fine, we got scared for nothing", Faryal said. She was trying to convince herself in the name of Zahra.
"Fary, betay I'm fine", Agha jan said in a low voice.
"You scared me so much", Faryal took Agha Jan's hand and kissed it. "Agha Jan muje apka yeh mazak bilkul bi acha nahi laga ainda nahi darana muje aise (Aghan Jan I didn't like your prank at all, please don't scare me ever like this)", Faryal tightened her hold on his hand, she fought back all the negative emotions because she didn't want to cry in front of Agha Jan.
"Your Fary will take care of you from now on. I won't leave you Agha Jan, but please don't scare me like this ever I can't bear it.", Faryal kissed his hand again.
Zohaib snapped his head in her direction. His heart sank at her words and for a moment his biggest fear was standing tall in front of him "She is going to leave me".
Later in the night Zohaib dropped Amma jan, Faryal and Zahra at Khan villa and went back to his house. Faryal's baba and Zain stayed in the hospital to look after Agha jan.
Zohaib sent Zahra and Faryal's stuff in the morning through Saleem bhai.
Wise men say,
Only fools rush in,
But I can't help falling in love with you,
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin,
If I can't help falling in love with you?

Which part of the chapter did you like?
I know you are going to hate me for dragging the situation haha, but trust me you will understand my point after the upcoming chapter.
P.S: Do let me know if I should put a warning before the intimate scenes. I accept that I said that I won't add anything intimate in the book but many people suggested me to add at least the kiss as it is a romance genre. I don't know how these scenes are turning out, but that's all I can write.
