Chapter 7

The Diablon Series

“I strike at twilight,” he said, his voice a low murmur. “Just as the sun dips below the horizon, when the last few stragglers are still out. Or the brave ones. I’m so swift they don’t even have time to scream, just enough to register shock. No one can stop me. I’m like the wind.”

Lilitha ran her hands up his sides, her touch gentle. She leaned in, pressing a kiss to his sternum, then to each of his nipples. Her blood felt like it was on fire.

Her breaths came in quick, sharp gasps. She felt a raw emptiness within her.

Shifting her hips, she took hold of his hard, pulsating length and guided herself onto him.

“Tell me more,” she whispered, suppressing a moan as her body hummed with anticipation, her heart pounding, blood rushing to her lower body.

“The first man tried to fight back. He almost screamed, but I tore off his jaw before he could. You should have seen his tongue, Lila, hanging out. The way he choked on his own blood.”

Lilitha closed her eyes, moving her hips rhythmically. She remembered the man whose liver she’d consumed.

He was a part of her now.

Vital. Necessary. Nourishing their unborn child.

Nourishing their future. She moved faster as he described his second victim.

“He was easy, bit him right in the back of the neck. He reached back with his flailing hand before he convulsed in his death throes and collapsed into my arms like a wilted flower. Too easy. You should see me when there’s a real fight, Lila.”

His voice hitched on her name as Lilitha moved faster, pressing down hard on his pelvis, trying to take him in as deep as possible.

Her blood was pulsating in her lower body now, the heat between her legs almost unbearable.

“God,” Damon gasped as she lifted her hips so high he almost slipped out before she slammed herself back onto him.

She needed more. She needed it harder.

“Get on top of me,” she gasped. “Get on top of me.”

He didn’t hesitate, grabbing her hips and flipping her onto her back. He knew exactly what she wanted, as if he’d been expecting it.

As if this was normal.

He pulled her head back, biting at the nape of her neck as he thrust into her, hard and deep, making Lilitha cry out.

Lilitha lifted her legs, wrapping them around his waist as he drove into her, his breaths hot and ragged in her ear.

He was pounding her into the ground.

It hurt, but Lilitha liked it. She liked it!

“Open your eyes,” he commanded.

Lilitha obeyed, locking eyes with him. He kissed her, then stopped moving and grinned.

“What are you doing?” Lilitha panted.

She tried to move her hips, but he wouldn’t budge. “Keep going.”

“Oh, I don’t know.” He yawned. “I think I am a bit tired, actually.”

And he began to pull away.

Lilitha’s eyes widened in surprise. She tried to hold him in place, tightening her legs around his waist, but he was too strong.

He stood up, running a hand through his hair with another yawn, then looked down at her and smiled.

“What the hell are you doing? Get back here.”

“I told you, I’m tired.”

“No, you’re not.”

His arousal was evident, standing tall and flushed. Lilitha’s mouth watered at the sight of it.

She couldn’t tear her gaze away from him. It was hard to breathe.

His tail was moving restlessly.

His horns gleamed in the moonlight, as bright as his laughing eyes.

Lilitha scrambled to her feet. She ran her tongue over her bottom lip, feeling a strange, powerful urge to bite him.

Damon crossed his arms, seemingly unyielding.

“You’re teasing me,” she accused.

“I’m testing you.”

Lilitha narrowed her eyes. “What do you mean?”

Her mind felt foggy.

The air seemed to have a reddish hue. A reddish feel—if that was even possible.

She rubbed her eyes, but the foggy sensation remained.

“Come here!” she demanded.

She reached for his arm, but he pulled away. She tried again and again, but he kept evading her.

“Damon!” she roared, her voice echoing through the night.

“Come on. You can try harder than that!” He was laughing. He was actually laughing!

Lilitha growled, her hands clenched at her sides, her teeth gritted. She was sweating.

She tasted blood in her mouth and realized she’d bitten her cheek.

“Come here!” she snarled.

“Come get me!”

She lunged at him, missed, lunged again. She managed to scratch his arm as he dodged her, moving as swiftly as the wind, just as he’d described.

She tried to catch him again and again, her frustration mounting. She bared her teeth, growling and snarling.

Her chest vibrated with the force of her anger.

Damon was grinning, showing his teeth. He was enjoying this too much, and it was driving her crazy!

“Damon!”

“Lila!”

“Stop!” Finally, she’d had enough. With a roar that seemed to come from the very core of her being, she pounced.

The forest blurred around them, Damon was a blur, everything turned a deep, bloody red as she clung to him.

Arms around his shoulders. Legs around his waist.

And then, before she could stop herself, she bit into the muscle at the nape of his neck.

She immediately let go, horrified. She looked at his face, but he was grinning, his eyes shining, his hair wild.

His skin was flushed.

“Now you can have me,” he whispered in her ear. “My little Diablon.”

He kissed her and she kissed him back. And then they were on the ground together, rolling around, growling and whining and snarling.

On top, Lilitha held his head down by the horns as she licked the wound on his neck.

There were long, deep scratches all over his arms, across his torso, down his waist.

It seemed he hadn’t been as quick as he’d claimed.

Damon tilted his head back, his hands gripping her waist, a low growl rumbling in his throat as she drank his blood.

Then, she was kissing him again, her lips trailing down his body, down to his arousal, which she took into her mouth as if she hadn’t eaten in days.

She could taste Carmella. She could taste him.

She sucked at his tip until a burst of saltiness filled her mouth and Lilitha swallowed it down.

Her hands pinned his thighs down as she looked at him. Damon’s teeth were gritted together.

His body was flushed, from his lower half all the way up to his throat.

A prominent vein was throbbing in his forehead. Then, his expression seemed to shatter, and he sat up with a snarl. Lilitha was taken aback.

One moment she was kneeling between his legs. The next, she was on her stomach, Damon looming over her, his hair tickling her back as he gripped her hips and lifted her rear.

He was growling as he reached between her legs. Lilitha gasped and jerked forward as he ran his finger down her slit. He opened her up.

He pushed his finger inside her. It slid in deep.

He withdrew his finger and Lilitha cried out again as she felt the tip of his shaft press against her wet lips. With one forceful thrust, he was fully inside her, causing her to jerk forward again. For a long moment he didn’t move, resting on top of her, his hot breath blowing through her hair.

It was as if he was taking a moment’s break. Lilitha wriggled her buttocks against him. She grabbed his hands and pressed them to her breasts.

He began to thrust. Thrusting hard. Propelling her forward.

He rubbed his face into the back of her neck, making a noise less like a growl and more like a purr. Then he pulled himself up, gripping her hips as he pumped into her, propelling her forward and pulling her backward with increasing speed. Lilitha closed her eyes, mouth open as her body was overwhelmed with so much sensation it hurt.

With a roar, Damon climaxed.

Finally, they stopped. Lilitha kept her eyes closed, holding onto the last waves of her fading orgasm. Damon growled softly, his hands smoothing over her butt cheeks. He kissed her on the back, then pulled out.

With a groan, he collapsed beside her onto his back, hands resting on his chest, the muscles sliding over his ribs as he gasped for breath. His eyes sparkled at her beneath heavy eyelids.

“Sorry,” she whispered, biting her lip as she studied the wound in his neck and all the scratches.

Had she really done that? Was she crazy? How could she have been so sick at the ridge, only to be so…so ~bad~ with Damon?

~What was it like? Killing those men?~ She couldn’t even recognize herself anymore.

He closed his eyes. Lilitha dropped down beside him, curling into him.
