I'm in my car on the way to work when I hear my phone buzzing, It might be Aaron since he texts me more than usual since the whole David situation happened a couple of days ago, I'm sleeping in my apartment now even though Aaron doesn't like the idea, I assured him there's no way for David to know where I live,

Taking a glance at my phone at a stop light I immediately tense at the message,

Unknown number: your man looks quite cozy with the gift I sent you *picture*

My heart drops when I see a picture of Aaron and David in a fight,

The picture captures Aaron fisting the collar of Davids's shirt, David has blood all over his face and shirt, and there's a bruise forming around his neck, from the angle you can barely see Aarons's face, but to me, it's clear it's him,

I'm immediately hit with a wave of confusion, if this person is referring to David as my 'gift' then it must be someone else texting me...unless David is a fundamental fool and is referring to himself in the third person.

Each time I take a deep breath in it feels like I'm inhaling needles, my body trembles to the point I need to pull over to the side of the road to catch my breath, I remind myself that its most likely nothing and that texts don't signify anything crucial, perhaps someone's jealous of me being with Aaron? Since he is one of the most successful business owners in New York.

Stepping into my office my eyes immediately connect with two stunning bouquets, I see a little white note on the red roses and smile walking over to read it,

My sunshine

I love you, my beautiful girl, allow me to worry about everything.

It's the reassurance that means the most, his simple words wash away the fear I felt this morning in my car, I know when he says something he delivers on it, David will most likely not be allowed within a five radius of this building if Aaron has anything to do with it,

I smell the beautiful roses once before putting the letter safely into my drawer and grabbing Aarons's coffee, I knock twice on his door hearing the usual 'come in'

"Good morning Mr. Huxley" I smirk walking over to him

I put his coffee in front of him just before he pulls me on his lap, "Good morning" he says before kissing me

I smile through the kiss and sigh in content

"How about we go to my mom's restaurant after work" he mutters against my lips

"Yeah?" My smile grows against his slightly swollen lips,

He hums in response

"Thank you for the roses" I bite my lip trying to contain my grin,

He gently caresses my face "glad you liked them"

"I should probably get back to work" I mumble against his lips

He hums and connects our lips again, I laugh which ends up breaking the kiss "I will see you later" I kiss his lips one more time before standing up

"See you later" he watches me walk out with a soft look on his face that warms my body

I make my way out of my office for a break, I see Henry walking out of it with a grin so wide that it makes my own smile appear,

"Hi Henry" I greet him as I make my way over to him

"Well hello Vanessa" he grins

"What's going on?" I ask wanting to know why he was in Aarons's office

"Well Aaron just told me that I have an interview at a big construction company," he says while grinning

"That's amazing congratulations henry, but don't you have to be careful with your new kidney?" I ask

"Aaron said he told them that I most likely will get the job just won't do the heavy lifting" he shrugs with a smile

"I'm happy for you henry" I whisper as I hug him

"Thank you," he says hugging me back

Hours later I knock on Aarons's door twice until I hear a 'come in'

"You finished with work?" He asks me standing up

"Yes, are you?" I ask him walking into his office and closing the door

He nods walking over to me and cupping the side of my face and leaning in for a kiss,

"Are we going straight to your mom's restaurant or should I change?" I ask before he can connect our lips

He looks me up and down "I think you look pretty sexy right now, so why change?" He smirks looking at my beige corset-type top and black pants

"yeah?" I raise my brow

"Yeah, extremely," he says

I pull him closer by his tie by wrapping it around my hand a few times "well I think you look sexy in this suit" I grin

I pull his tie towards me until our lips connect, his hand comes to rest on my thigh and the other one caresses the side of my face

His kisses send me to another place, a place where all that's wrong with life feels right, a place of contentment and peace, a place where it's just Aaron and I,

A place I want to stay in forever.

I wish to keep his lips on mine for eternity, to feel the pure fulfillment I long for every day with his touch,

he disconnects our lips, taking me back to reality

"Let's go before things take a different turn from what I was planning" he whispers against my lips

I hum and kiss his lips one last time before we leave, I feel him chuckle against my lips, I wrap my arms around his neck, my gaze lifts to his eyes and I'm met with his intense stare,

"What?" I laugh awkwardly

He has a small smile playing on his lips "nothing, you're just beautiful"

It's such a simple word,

Beautiful.

Yet the word makes my body go limp and my heartbeat accelerate, I feel a blush make its way up my cheeks.

But it's not even the word in itself it's just the person saying it.

My incredible man telling me that.

"I like it when you blush it's cute" he chuckles

I hide my face in his chest in embarrassment

I feel his body vibrate from a laugh and it makes me smile into his chest

"Come on let's go," he says kissing the top of my head

"Yep just give me a minute to make my cheeks not look stupidly red," I say muffled into his chest

"I think your blush is cute, now let's go" his smirk is so apparent in his voice as he speaks

I groan "you're annoying, shush"

He hums "and you're not?" He questions teasingly

"Okay blush is gone let's go" I frown leaving his office

Am I too stubborn to acknowledge that I'm annoying? Maybe...

"Hey come back here" I hear him quickly walking behind me

I roll my eyes to myself and head to the elevators, I then feel large hands wrap around my waist pulling my back to a chest, and I feel Aarons's lips on my neck

I lean onto him and sigh about to close my eyes as we wait for the elevator,

I notice a couple of girls staring at him and I "Aaron" I whisper

He hums

"were getting freaking stared at" I hiss

He takes his face out of my neck and looks around till he spots the girls

"Do I pay you to Stand around staring?" He says in an intimidating stern voice

"Sorry Mr. Huxley" one of them squeaks turning around while the other run to their desk to leave for the day

"Thank you" I sigh

"Why does everyone always stare?" I huff as we enter the elevator

"Well you're pretty hot" he shrugs

I laugh "I think it's more along the lines of the hottest man in New York dating his boring assistant"

He grabs my chin guiding it so I look at him "first off I'm the hottest in only New York?" He fake frowns

I laugh and peck his lips "shut up I don't need to keep feeding your ego"

He hums "and secondly you're anything but boring... And lastly, I don't give a shit if they don't like that I'm single they will have to deal with the fact I'm now with the most beautiful girl in New York," he says against my lips

I fake gasp out "only New York?"

He chuckles and kisses me "I'm sorry sunshine I meant out of the whole world"

"Even the galaxy?" I raise a brow

"I did choose the sun didn't I?" He smirks

We're now getting out of the car and heading towards the beautiful restaurant called 'love bites'

I take in the beautiful exterior, I'm too excited to even wait for Aaron to open the door for me, I have wanted to visit this restaurant for the longest time

"Excuse you," Aaron says as he sees me opening my door and getting out

"Sorry I just can't wait" I grin

"Get back in the car" he declares

I get back in "you're a very annoying man"

"Great now let's go" I take his hand dragging him over to the restaurant after he opens the door for me

He chuckles kissing the top of my head as we head inside,

I audibly gasp when taking in the rich deep red Interior, there are trees in the middle of the round tables, it's like a magical garden the lights are dim setting a cozy romantic element in here,

"It's even more beautiful than the pictures" I gush taking in the surroundings, my eyes don't know where to look,

"Wait why is this place empty?" I say finally realizing that there's not a single person inside

I look over at Aaron who is smiling "my mother closed the restaurant early so we would be the only ones here"

I gasp "she did that? Why? isn't she losing paying customers?" I frown

"I'd rather lose some paying customers than invite you here for the first time when there's a bunch of people and you not getting my full attention" I hear Lillian's voice from behind

I turn around "hi, thank you for inviting us" I grin

"No problem, now what are you standing around here for you two must be starving from all that work" she gestures us to a table before giving us each a hug

"I am so excited" I try to contain a squeal as I look around

Aaron chuckles "I can see that"

"Can you come sit next to me" I frown looking at him on the opposite side of the table

He smirks as he slides into the booth next to me

I tuck my hand around his bicep and lay my head on his shoulder, I feel his soft lips graze my forehead

"How about you come over to my place tomorrow so you can help me make up a plan of what to make for the grand opening on the rooftop," I say

"Of course, I can even help you cook if you want" he whispers against my ear sending shivers down my body

I move my head to the side to look at him and connect our lips for a quick sweet kiss "okay" I smile against his lips

"Well aren't you guys the cutest," Lillian says grinning as she brings over 2 plates of food

I smile back at her and then look down at the delicious Italian-looking pasta dish in front of us

"Here you guys go," she says smiling

"Thank you mom," Aaron says

"Thank you, how many different kinds of dishes do you make here?" I smile leaning on Aaron

"quite a lot, Italian food, Greek, French, but I think I'm best at the Russian cuisine since that's what I grew up making" she shrugs

"That's amazing" I smile

"You can come here anytime, food is always on the house for you two" she winks

"I appreciate that" I nod

"Enjoy, after you finish I'll begin making dessert"

"I can help make it, I've wanted to learn how you make your world-famous desserts" I smile instantly sitting straight away from Aarons's warmth

"Well that would be fun, Aaron can help as well" she grins

"That would be great" Aaron nods grabbing my waist to pull me closer to him

"Well great! I'll come back when you guys finish" she smiles walking away

"That food was amazing," I say as we walk to the kitchen, still on a high being in here...its strange finally walking around here after wanting to go for so long,

"Why thank you" Lillian laughs lightly

"Alright, so what are we making?" I say looking at Lillian as we enter the ginormous kitchen

"I was thinking some Медовик and Блинные, which is a honey cake, and the crepes which will have a sweet filling in it," she says as she puts on an apron and gives us each one as well

"That sounds great, I tried some of your crepes when you came over after Aaron's surgery and they were incredible" I smile

"Well now you will learn how to be able to make them" she grins

"Okay let's start on the cake first because it needs to sit for a little bit"

"Alright what do we do?" I ask gesturing between Aaron and I

"You guys can make the dry ingredient mix, here is the recipe card," she says handing me a card

"Alright" I nod

We start putting the dry ingredients in and at some point some flour gets on my face because of a certain someone

"Excuse you" I laugh looking at Aaron

"What it was on accident" he smirks wiping the flour away with his fingers

I hum and blow some flour in his face and laugh

"Sure it was" I shake my head focusing on the bowl with a smile on my face

(Play music)

After we finish making the cake we move on to making the crepes with some music on, we're just singing and working on our batters and whatnot,

I feel so much contentment at this moment

"He really loves you" his mom whispers in my ear

I grin at her before I look at Aaron mixing up the batter

"And I really love him" I reply quietly keeping my gaze on Aaron

He senses my stare and looks over at me, I grin at him and he gives me a warm smile in return

I turn back to his mom to see she's grinning looking between the two of us

"I've never seen my son this happy before...honestly he hasn't smiled much since his sister," she says quietly

"You make him a better person, and I couldn't be happier that my son found a girl like you" she gives a smile

"I'm really happy to have him in my life, I honestly believed I would never find love" I laugh shaking my head

"Okay we'll let's not get all sappy, I don't want to cry today, let's dance," she says dancing around the kitchen a little

I laugh as I join her

"Come on Aaron let's take a quick dance break" I grin trying to pull him away from the bowl

"Please" I give him puppy dog eyes

He laughs shaking his head but let's me pull him away

I am dancing and feel warm hands snake around my waist, I smile and put my hands over his and continue to sway to the music

"I like your mom" I laugh looking at her dancing around the kitchen smiling and having the time of her life

"Yeah we'll I think she really likes you" he kisses the top of my head

I turn around and grab his hands and guide him to dance some more around the kitchen

He shakes his head but dances with me "you're such a little idiot" he laughs

"Yeah and what about it" I wiggle my brows

"But I love you anyway" he whispers in my ear

I continue to dance around the kitchen with his mom

And across the kitchen, I say "you're my big dumbass but I love you as well" back to him

He smiles as he watches his mom and I continue to laugh and dance

"That was fun, thank you for taking me" I hug Aaron as he opens the door of the car outside my apartment

"No problem, I had a good time too" he hugs me back

"See you tomorrow?" I whisper in his ear

"Definitely" he whispers back

I cup his face and connect our lips, he lifts me up and slightly lays me against the car, I wrap my legs around his waist while my hands slide into his hair

It gets heated as our tongues dance and compete with each other, the kiss gets faster and messier very quickly,

It only occurs to me we're outside when I feel a breeze against my cheek,

I disconnect our lips slightly while I pant for air,

I laugh slightly and peck his lips "I'm going to go before this gets a little less pg outside"

He kisses the side of my head and watches as I enter my apartment building making sure I enter safely

I smile as I close my apartment door, I immediately get ready for bed and pretty much fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow,

I beat insomnia tonight.

I get woken up at 5:30 am and look around confused until I hear a noise,

The loud knock on my door startles me and has me sitting up in bed immediately,

I get confused at who would be knocking on my door this early in the morning, I put my slippers on and robe and go to the door half asleep,

Walking up to the door and looking through the peephole I stumble back in shock and fear, my blood runs cold, I'm barely breathing too scared to make a noise,

No. No. No.
