"Alright, I believe that everything is done" I sigh, as I take in the rooftop, the table of food, and then another table filled with desserts,

lately, everything has been quiet in terms of the David situation, at work Aaron has been more irritable and colder towards any person who so much as breathed in the vicinity of him,

except me,

I believe this is all from nerves Aaron has gotten from David, he fears for my safety, always near me, sometimes when his stress gets too high he'll have me do my work in his office,

"It looks incredible sunshine," Aaron says from behind me

A grin is plastered on my face as I turn around to be met with Aaron, his cheeks are slightly pink from the cold, and he has a tiny smile on his face that widens mine,

I spent all day yesterday making all the food and dessert for today, even with Aaron telling me he could help, I just asked him to be near me so I didn't feel alone, but I needed the time to lose my thoughts in the food and making everything, and he listened, he worked on the island, and from time to time came up behind me to dig his face into my neck as he held me close.

I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in for a quick kiss that doesn't turn out so quick "thank you" I smile against his lips

"We should probably stop before people start arriving" I mumble against his lips

He hums leaving a kiss on the tip of my nose but making no move to back away from me

I smile leaning my head on his chest "are you going to get drunk tonight?" I ask

"I haven't for a while" he sighs

I lift my head to look at him "you should let loose a little and have fun, plus this event is just the opening night, there are no business deals so you don't have to worry about that" I frown

"Are you going to drink? Because how will I take care of you if I won't be in the proper state to" he asks resting his chin on the top of my head

"I don't drink, I don't like alcohol so have fun tonight, meet people that can be potential clients, and get drunk knowing you have a girlfriend who will make sure you're safe at the end of the day," I say quietly

"Aaron you have been so angry and closed off because of the David thing and I think talking and having drinks with people might help you a little" I whisper

"How can I not be angry at David, explain that Vanessa, he did unthinkable things to you that I don't even want to imagine you having to go through, it angers me so damn much," he shakes his head breathing heavier and I can feel the anger radiating off of him

I sigh "I'm angry too Aaron, and you have been so busy lately and tense that a night of you letting that worry and anger go will be good for you,"

"fine I guess I could use a night of winding down, but what about you?" He asks kissing my forehead

"It will be fine, like I said I don't drink so instead I will be talking to potential clients while you're with others," I tell him

I smile as I watch Aaron seem more relaxed as he drinks and talks to clients, he seems more at peace and less angry, the party has around 70 people and everyone seems pretty happy, I have gotten a lot of people on Aarons's team, so all in all this rooftop party idea was a great plan.

hours later many people leave laughing and drunk, others smile and promise to call about working and doing projects with the company, I smile and thank them, and then it's just Aaron and me, it started raining and I walk over to Aaron and crouch down to see him sitting down looking at the view

"Hi Aaron" I smile

He looks up at me and his face immediately pulls into a grin, he cups my face in his hands "my sunshine, you look so beautiful"

I laugh slightly "thank you, you look beautiful too"

"You did great with the food" he mumbles laying a kiss on the tip of my nose

He's already told me this about an hour ago but I don't say anything because he's drunk and probably won't remember anything from tonight,

"Let's get you home," I say gently grabbing his hand

He shakes his head and slurs a little while speaking "no let's just chill here a bit"

I tilt my head and smile seeing how happy and relaxed he looks, I think today was really good for him, he needed to loosen up a little, and forget the worries for a while,

*play the song now!*

"Lets dance sunshine," he says suddenly standing up and grabbing my hand dragging me in the rain,

I laugh seeing him turn the music on and come back to me "I thought you hated dancing"

"I hated a lot of things before I met you, I mean shit I hated smiling but then you came walking through my door looking all angelic and sweet and stole my heart then and there" he sighs

"well that's sweet" I don't try hiding my blush at his comment because he's too drunk to even notice it

"Yeah sweet..." he says frowning in thought

I tilt my head looking at his cute frowning face,

"You're a cruel woman sunshine" he suddenly says his frown deepening

"How so?" I laugh

"You made the strong, cruel man who doesn't listen to anyone turn upside down, I mean you can ask me to give my heart to you like your dad did to your mom and I would do it in a heartbeat," he says looking in my eyes

My heart swells at this man's words, he truly does love me "well good thing no hearts need to be given out because I don't want to lose you" I whisper pressing a kiss to his cheek with a grin

He boops my nose and I laugh "then you won't have to worry, the only way you could lose me is if you push me away yourself"

"I would be very upset though" he frowns

"I'm not good enough for you, so I don't know til this day why you chose me out of any guy that could make you so much happier, and I fear one day you will realize you can have more," he says tearing up

Oh gosh the alcohol is making him emotional

"Hey" I gently cup his cheeks "you are good enough for me...so no crying okay?" I wipe his tears off his cheeks though I can barely tell if it's the rain or his tears at this point

"You promise you won't leave me?" He whispers with so much pain in his voice that it breaks my heart in half

"I promise Aaron" I smile gently as I stand on my tippy toes to kiss his cheek

He smiles and sways with me to the music pretty much forgetting how sad he was a moment ago

I grin as he dances with me, so simply happy and freely

"I love you my sunshine the world would be such a dark place without you" he smiles down at me

"And I love you my moon, and the night sky surely wouldn't shine as beautiful as it does without you...I think you're the light in my darkness," I say quietly

He beams looking at me "thank you"

"For what?" I ask confused

"For letting me love you, for loving me back, for being the light that brought me out of the cold sadness I was living in," he says stumbling over his words slightly,

I know tears are streaming down my face but it's hidden from the rain "Aaron...whoever said you were a cold and heartless person didn't take the time out of their day to get to know you because you're truly the best gift that's come into my life, I feel like before you all I did was exist, but with you, I finally feel like I'm living"

He tilts his head and grins at me "you're gorgeous" he says out of nowhere

I laugh "thank you, and you are the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on"

'But I canttttttt help falling in love with youuuuuuu'

He sings out loud with his eyes closed as he sways with me, he has a big grin on his face and he looks so unbelievably happy,

"Come on sunshine sing with me" he laughs

"You're so cute" I whisper barely that he doesn't pick up on it since he's singing his heart out

"This song is definitely how I feel about you, I tried so hard sweetie pie to not love you but I couldn't help it...you're too lovable" he frowns and stumbles drunkenly over his words

"You're a cute man...sweetie pie" I laugh lightly

He looks down at me and moves his fingers along my face moving the hair that's stuck on my face because of the rain

"Ima kiss you" he nods

I laugh and that laugh ends when his lips collide with mine

I melt into his touch and barely feel the rain falling on me, I'm instantly hit with the taste of some type of drink as his tongue touches mine, I don't like alcohol but I don't complain as his warm lips dance with mine, his hands tangle in my hair as he cradles my head pulling me closer

I smile into the kiss and clasp my hands around his neck

"Let's go my sweetie pie," I say against his lips

He frowns and places a finger over my lips "only I get to call you sweetie pie because you're my sweet little pie"

I try so damn hard holding in my smile as I nod "alright what should I call you then?"

He thinks as he stares into nowhere "husband...I like the sound of that"

I raise a brow "that's not a very good nickname though"

He scrunches his nose "well I like it"

"Come on let's get you home you big dummy" I roll my eyes

Even as I laugh my stomach flips at the thought that he may want to marry me in the future.

"Okay we need to get you out of these wet clothes" I sigh as Aaron stumbles into his apartment

"Do you think you can do it yourself or do you need help?" I ask him

My question is answered as I watch his frown deepen when he can't take his shoe off

I crouch down and take it off, he laughs "my princess charming"

I hold in my laugh "I've never heard of that before"

"Well I can't call you Prince Charming now can i..." he frowns

"You're right" I nod trying to hide my smile

"Come on let's get your clothes off and then you need to shower," I say

"Wow sweetheart I thought you wanted to wait for the whole sexy time for later since the devil David" he scrunches his nose when he says, David

I can't help the laugh "no sexy time just yet...only showering, I don't want us catching a cold so we need to shower and change and you're too drunk to do it on your own" I say leading him to the bathroom

I leave him in the bathroom as I quickly go grab us a change of clothes, I run back to see him frowning as he looks in the mirror

"What's wrong?" I ask

"Don't you think mirrors are weird?" He asks

"I'm not sure" I shrug

"What color are Mirrors...they can't be clear right?" His frown deepens

"Green, now come on sit so I can get your shirt off," I say pointing to the closed toilet

He sits down and I feel his stare as I unbutton his shirt, I try breathing evenly as I take in his perfectly sculpted body...

Damn that's unfair...my little pooch is certainly feeling insecure right now

"Do you need help with your pants?" I ask

He laughs "I'm great sunshine see," he says trying to pull them off but failing miserably

"Yeah good job Aaron" I tease kissing the top of his head

I take his pants off and my breaths get quicker and briefer...the first time I thought I would see Aaron naked would be in a more romantic situation but he probably won't even remember this in the morning so I take in a deep breath and remind myself that,

My eyes widen and I look away, the man looks perfect from head to toe...

Yeah, nice going Vanessa, your boss and boyfriend us naked in front of you, drunk off his mind and you're feeling faint at the sight of him instead of helping him out,

I clear my throat and help him to the shower trying my very best not to stare,

Don't look down...

do. Not. Look. Down.

"Dang it" I whisper as I advert my eyes back to his face

I turn the shower on and he tries grabbing the bar of soap but it slips out of his hands

"This is stupid" he frowns looking at the soap on the floor,

"Soap is stupid...why'd they make it so slippery if you're using it in the shower? Why can't it have grooves or something" he frowns more watching the soap

"You need help?" I ask

He nods

I take in a deep breath and take my shirt off because I can't help him this far away and I'm cold and wet too and he's drunk so he probably won't remember my body...

Hopefully, he won't,

It's difficult to feel beautiful with so many women with perfect bodies, flat stomachs and very clear skin, and no marks on their bodies,

I still have my bra and underwear on and he looks over his eyes wide,

"Gosh women warn a man when you get undressed" he quickly closes his eyes

"Yeah, and how do you suppose I shower?" I raise a brow getting in after I am fully naked

"I don't want to be rude and look," he says staring at the wall

I smile looking at his back, he truly is the sweetest "Aaron you are aware you're my boyfriend and we're bound to see each other naked at some point...yeah this wasn't the ideal situation but... it's fine" I shrug trying to make him as comfortable as possible,

"Come on nothing would even happen since you're drunk...we need to shower so we don't get sick from us dancing in the rain," I say grabbing the soap off the floor

He turns around and looks me up and down, I immediately feel like I'm under a microscope and am slightly nervous as he takes in my body,

I don't look perfect like him...I like my sandwiches and hate working out so my abs are there they just have a small little pooch that's covering them

"Wow you're even more beautiful than I thought you would be" he shakes his head grinning

Well, I don't know what I was expecting, but a compliment surely wasn't it.

I feel the blush crawling up my cheeks, I clear my throat "okay let's get you cleaned" I say lathering the soap in my hands and then rubbing it along his back and chest

The whole time in the shower I try keeping my head out of the gutter and focus on helping a very drunk Aaron, I quickly clean myself and he just watches with a cute smile on his face,

I try ignoring his stare as I quickly shower, I turn the shower off and wrap myself in a towel and give my hand to Aarons and help him out, I then give him a towel

After I help him brush his teeth and help put him in pj's I then help him to bed as he stumbles around

"You doing okay?" I gently ask moving the hair out of his face as he lays in bed

"Yeah but I would be better if you laid with me" he pouts

I nod "I'll be right back I promise, I'll only take a minute"

After I get him a glass of water and Advil for tomorrow I lay next to him in bed, he immediately pulls me close sighing in contentment,

I quietly grab my phone to snap a picture of how cute he looks right now,

He has his arms around my waist keeping me close and his head nuzzled in between my chest, I quietly lean down and kiss him on the top of his head

"I love you my beautiful Vanessa" he mumbles sleepily

I watch him with a smile "and I love you" I whisper watching his breathing even out as he falls asleep

I don't hate my insomnia at this moment as I watch Aaron clinging to me with a small on his lips
