Twenty minutes... that's how long I've been left on delivered.

I texted Vanessa wondering when she'd be home since it was already eight, but I have no reply.

I beg my heart not to worry, its only twenty minutes, maybe shes driving and doesn't want to be distracted,

Or maybe she's distracted at a store and didn't even hear the phone,

I try to stop overthinking and get some work done,

I get drowned out in work calls and an email with a client, and the next time I look at the time its been over an hour later,

I check my phone and frown seeing no notification from Vanessa,

My stomach sinks in a weird feeling, I call her again but it goes to voicemail, I call again, once again...voice mail.

At this point I'm full-on worried, my mind is racing thinking of the worst,

No...please don't be her heart, it's too early, I'm not ready.

"Shit" I whisper as I practically jump out of my seat,

I call her once more and when she doesn't answer I leave her a voicemail,

'Sunshine, please answer your phone, you're starting to worry me, I'm giving you half an hour to respond until I go to the cops and hospitals.'

I blow out a breath as I pace around my office, there's not much I can do except wait to see if she responds,

After ten minutes I'd had enough and decided to call the hospitals in the area to see if she maybe ended up there,

"Do you have a patient named Vanessa Adler?"

"Umm...no I'm sorry, we have no one here by that name"

"No one by that name"

"That name isn't in our system, no"

"Unfortunately it's not coming up no sorry I couldn't help"

Hospital after hospital I get told she isn't there, half of me is relieved since it means she most likely didn't have some heart issue...but the other half of me is terrified,

I know her, she would've answered me when she knows how stressed out I have been with all this Wren and David drama, our court date is in just a few days and I've been hounding her like crazy making sure she's okay,

Shit.

No. No. No

David and wren.

My gut sinks thinking about that video where she got threatened by them in the ally way,

"God Damnit, come on answer" I stress as the call still doesn't answer

"Screw it" I whisper as I storm out of my home office and grab my keys,

I get a phone call as I'm running to my car and stop to a halt, not even checking who's calling

"Hello?" I say quickly

"Hey this is Enzo Moretti, I was just calling about the final touches on the project, my wife won't stop asking when It'll get done, so she forced me to call you about the last-minute material you still have to receive"

"Damnit" I spit out

"Excuse you?" He says taken back

I take a deep breath in "no it's not you, I was hoping you were my girlfriend calling, she's been missing for almost two hours now"

"Shit, I'm sorry, have you gone to the police?" He asks

"I was about to" I slam my car door

"If you know where she was I can get one guy I'm still in contact with to hack into surveillance cameras in the area she was in to check," he says nonchalantly

"How the hell does one just have a hacker on standby?" I mutter, the anger radiating off of me is too much, I can barely function let alone drive

"Yeah... it's better you didn't know" he clears his throat

"I have zero clue where she went specifically, I know some of the stores she had planned about her errands, but she could've gone somewhere in between" I sigh leaning my head back against the seat in frustration

"If you send me your address I can come with my friend and I'll help to the best of my ability, Vanessa's my wife's friend, I think she'd murder me if she found out I heard about this and didn't do something to help" his voice is hushed slightly

"Why did you just say my wife in that tone?" I hear a woman's voice in the background shout

"I'm not saying anything bad beautiful" he shouts back

"Yeah, sure you're not" she yells sarcastically

I hear Enzo chuckle "Ragazza carina, I wouldn't talk bad about you" (pretty girl)

I'm desperate to find Vanessa, to make sure she's safe... to the point I'm about to show weakness and ask for help,

God damnit this woman has me weak on my knees

"I need her found sooner rather than later, so if you think your hacker friend will help I'll send my address" I sigh

"Hacker? Enzo what the hell are you doing? You told me you were done with that stuff" the woman who I'm assuming is his wife yells

I hear Enzo sigh "it's for a good reason I promise"

"Tell me what it is?" I hear her voice closer now

Finally...no yelling, my raging headache can't handle this shit right now,

"I don't want to worry you" I hear his voice gently talk to her

"Enzo! You saying that worries me" she stresses

"You know your friend Vanessa?" He asks her

"Yes...oh no, oh no, please don't tell me she passed away already! She's my friend I'm not ready to lose her" the woman's voice cracks as if she is either crying or trying not to

"Hey, Zara, sweetheart, breathe please" Enzo gently speaks

"Vanessa's boyfriend said she's been missing for over two hours" Enzo explains

As they speak I send him my address and try my best to not do something stupid,

"Missing?" Zara whispers

"Well, what the heck are you sitting around for?! Get to hacking and find my friend" Zara claps her hands as in motioning for him to hurry up

"I texted him and he's meeting me at Aarons's place, I'm heading there now" I hear him grab keys and shuffle around with maybe a jacket

"I'm coming with you" I hear her say

"Sweetheart, you need to stay here with the kids," he says gently

"But your moms already here visiting! She can watch them" she sighs

"I'm almost mad at myself with how easy it is for me to say yes to you" he mutters to her

"Fine go grab your jacket, hurry," he says

"Sorry about that, My wife's joining I guess" he sighs

"Whatever as long as I can find Vanessa" I exhale the deep breath I was holding

I get back into the house after I end the call and wait for them to come, I'm panicking, if my gut is right and this has something to do with Wren and David then I fear that if I don't find her in time something bad will happen to her,

About twenty slow excruciating minutes later I get a knock at the door, I open it to be met with Enzo, his wife Zara, and a tall skinny guy with blonde hair and tattoos covering his arms,

I nod them inside and the blonde skinny guy instantly sets up a computer on my table and gets to typing some weird code shit,

"I'm Leo" the hacker nods to me

"Aaron" I nod back

"Okay so tell me what she told you, about her errands" Leo looks at me

I list off the things Vanessa told me about and Leo starts typing rapidly on his computer, Enzo stands back watching his wife with a small smile as she watches fascinated by the hacker typing,

"He's typing a hundred miles an hour, and what in the world are all those letters, numbers, and weird dashes?" Zara whispers to Enzo

He shrugs "coding"

Leo looks at a picture I put of Vanessa on the table, rapidly back and forth to his computer and the picture, "okay I spotted her at the target, now we just follow her car around until we spot her final destination"

I'm immediately hovering behind Leo watching the security cameras, her car stops at a grocery store and she spends an hour and a half in there until she drives to my dry cleaning place,

"Okay she put the clothes in the car, oh and now shes walking" Leo points to where she is

But he doesn't need to point, because I can spot her in a group of millions, after all the sun shines the brightest, no matter how many people are in the room.

"Okay she went inside the coffee shop, and she was in there about ten minutes, and now she's walking back to her car, wrong, she took a different turn" Leo frowns

She looks like she is in her head, thinking and trying to breathe, I know it's because of her heart, and she's trying to get her breathing under control, and sometimes she can do things like not paying enough attention, many times on our walks when she concentrates on her breathing she almost turns a wrong way, but I'm always there to guide her back,

"Okay looks like she arrived at a closed street...she finally notices and now shes walking into a side road" Leo speaks to what's happening as if I'm not right here watching it happen, I keep my eye roll in since he might help I find where she is,

"Oh there are two shadows, oh and she just got knocked out upside the head" Leo hisses

"Ouch that had to have hurt, oh shit I didn't realize this, but this car has been following her the whole errand run, she started at an apartment complex and the car followed her everywhere" Leo points to a black car

"It's Wren and David I'm sure of it, Damnit...we were supposed to end this in a few days at court" I pull at the ends of my hair

I begin explaining the situation, excluding Vanessa's rape because that will never be my story to tell, at the end of it I'm more furious than before,

"Okay so do we involve the police?" Zara questions

"And tell them what? That you had your hacker who has connections to the mafia hack into a ton of security systems?" Leo snorts

My eyes widen slightly "I'm sorry..did you just say mafia?"

"Shit..."Leo hisses looking at Enzo wide-eyed

Enzo shakes his head and sighs "this information has to stay classified okay?"

I nod slowly "okay?"

"I used to be a mafia boss...the biggest one in New York, I was born into it, but after marrying Zara and us having a daughter I decided it was time to step down from that role, to keep my family safe, but I still have ties to it, so if ever necessary I can contact people to protect my family" Enzo speaks making my eyes widen slightly

"So we shouldn't involve the police?" I question

He shakes his head "we shouldn't, I can have people raid the place Wren and David are keeping her faster than the police ever can"

I nod "whatever gets her back to me safe and alive"

"Alright we will leave Leo to stalk Wren and David to see where they took her then we can move forward after that, but it may take a little bit" he sighs drawing lazy circles on his wife's arm

"How long?" I ask Leo

He concentrates on the computer "I'm guessing about half an hour to an hour"

"A lot can happen to her in that time" I clench my jaw, rage mixed with fear makes me storm to my kitchen and make some coffee, I won't drink when my girl needs me,

As much as I want to drown my worries and numb the fear, I want to be sober when I hold her in my arms, knowing she's safe,

I grab the cup she always drinks out of and makes some for me in there,

"Anyone want some coffee?" I ask knowing Vanessa would give me the silent treatment for all of ten minutes if she found out I didn't offer guests something to drink or eat

"I'd take a cup" Enzo nods

"No thank you" Zara shakes her head as she fiddles with her fingers nervously, Enzo grabs her hands and softly rubs them and whispers something in her ear that has her nodding and taking a deep breath in and out

"I'd take some earl grey if you have any" Leo adds

I nod and make the coffee and tea.

Stay strong sunshine, I'm coming to get you and I will do everything in my power to make sure those assholes pay.

After making the drinks and handing them to the guys we all sit at the table, anxiously waiting, well mostly me...

I watch Leo as he types away, my hands shaking at the thought of Vanessa being hurt, her crying...

God my heart breaks with every tear that falls down her cheeks, a tiny sliver of my heart is removed when she's upset, especially when I can't do anything about it.

She may be screaming, trying her best to escape, she may be sobbing her heart out, terrified out of her mind,

Or maybe she has given up, lost hope that I'll find her, and I don't even want to go to the other possibilities of what may be happening to her,

My lungs don't work properly, and fear threads its way through my body, making me need to move around, and do something, but my feet don't move, my body is paralyzed in my chair as I wait for Leo to hopefully find some kind of trace to where she could be,

Be alive sunshine, please stay alive for me.

"Okay so it looks like they took her to a warehouse, about two hours away from here, from what I can tell it has been abandoned, but one of them has likely used that location before" Leo points to a place on the map,

I jump out of my sweet, "send me the location"

I already have my keys in hand, jacket, and shoes on in less than twenty seconds,

"I've sent the location to my men...well they used to be my men but besides the point, they'll meet us there" Enzo types away on his phone

"Thank you, Leo, we appreciate your help" Zara smiles at Leo, and shoves her husband's side gently

"Thanks" Enzo gives him a nod

Zara glares at me but it almost makes me laugh, but I keep it in since Leo did spend his time tracking for a while when he could've been at home

"Thanks" I give him a firm nod

Leo nods and collects his computer, and puts his jacket on,

"I want to come with you," Zara tells Enzo

"Absolutely Not, I don't want to worry about something happening to you" he shakes his head

"Sorry let me rephrase that, I'm coming along with you so we better get a move on" she crosses her arms over her chest and glares at her husband

He sighs in response, "you better stay close to me, or so help me God you're not leaving the house for a week, and having bodyguards following you around for months"

"Not the bodyguards!" She groans

"Then stay close to me" he grips her chin, and he gets a nod in response

"Let's get a move on before you start taking her clothes off in my dining room" I clench my jaw at their slowness, I need to get to Vanessa and I don't have time for this.

Zara's cheeks flush red and she heads for the door, with Enzo following close behind chuckling,

I speed to my car after locking the door, not paying attention to anyone as I hightail my ass out of here and to my girl.

My hands tremble on the steering wheel but I ignore it my only focus is getting to my sunshine, I try keeping my breathing steady,

Getting my body and mind ready for what I may enter into when we get to the warehouse, I beg my mind to not think of the worst,

But I don't know how insane David and Wren can truly be, I'm not sure how far they'd go, but I do know how David treated Vanessa in their relationship,

And that thought alone had been speeding to the location, hoping to get there as fast as humanly possible without getting pulled over,

Because I have no time to get pulled over when my girl is waiting for me.

And I'll do everything in my damn power to ensure I get there and make sure David and wren pay.

I'm coming my sweetheart, I'll do everything in my power to hold you in my arms once again, knowing you're alive.
