Secret Red

Chapter 46

"Come on, please! You promised that you'd get us that bear! Leah already got one, now it's my turn to get one too!" Alison whined pointing at the medium sized teddy bear at the counter behind the shooting game booth.

"Damn, it's like taking two bunch of kids here." He vexed, taking out the coupons from his pocket and giving it to the girl behind the carnival booth.

"Oh, we are your sisters. Thank you. Now, I want that teddy. Make sure you hit those pins down!" Alison exclaimed in excitement pointing towards the teddy bear and the pins.

"Technically, she's my sister not by choice. You? I think I've enough taking care of one baby girl." Liam teased.

"How dare you! I know you secretly wished to be related to such an amazing person like me." She responded. Liam scoffed in annoyance but kept his aim and shoot the pins down winning the teddy bear that Alison requested. She thanked him with a hug and quickly grabbed the teddy bear in her arms.

"Oh, oh! Please take a picture of us." Alison handed her phone to Liam who rolled his eyes and took the phone lazily.

"Done."

"What? I'm not ready. Again, please." Leah whined.

"1, 2, 3." Click. "3, 2, 1." Click. "3, 2, 3." Click. "2, 3, 1." Click.

"Okay, that's enough. Thank you. Now, since you've been so kind bringing us here, we'll treat you a Carl's burger, how about that?" Alison offered her gratitude as he beamed at the mention of his favorite burger place.

"First of all, your mom kind of forced me into this. Secondly, I'm getting an upsized with extra bacon and extra cheese. Along with the waffle fries and a chocolate cookie." He grinned.

"Gosh, why don't you just get the whole damn store." Leah scowled.

The following Monday, Alison reluctantly walked down the hallway towards her locker with her head down. She hoped that as long as she keep her head down, people would just leave her alone, feeling fed up with the problems that kept storming her way.

"Hey Alison." Anna called walking beside her.

"Hey Anna, how've you been?" She asked sincerely as a smile crept on her face looking at Anna.

"I'm-"

"Isn't this a sight to see. The junkie who looked as pathetic as always and the freak who still try to cover up the stinking whore inside." Amber retorted with Ivy standing beside her.

"Mind your own business, Amber. I can wear a pajama to school for all I care and it still doesn't concern you." She replied flatly.

"Of course, it doesn't since you're already well known as a slut, whatever you wear, you'll still be known as a whore. How Jason could stand being with you, still baffles me." She mocked.

"Not forgetting how she pushed his sister to the edge yet Liam still-" Ivy instantly kept her mouth shut when Mia shoved her elbow, quite obviously.

"Come on, Ally." Anna pulled her away making her quite shocked that she was able to stand up to the two mean girls.

"Ignore her, Ally. I know you're not like that at all. I don't mind what you wear or how you were, it's how you treat people that defines you." She defended making Alison to be somewhat proud that she was able to say that to her, considering how she first met Anna.

"That's a very wise thing to say, Anna. Thank you." She genuinely smiled as they walked to their classes. Sitting in her class, suddenly something struck her. Ivy just said Liam's name.

How did she know his name? How did she know he was her brother? Mia mentioned about Leah on her trip to L.A. I should've known it was them all along. They're the only ones who were capable of committing such sick jokes! If they want to share it to the school, fine! They're not going to threaten me! But then, what if they all hated me, then what?

"Damn you, Rob! Where did you go last Friday? You know I was still having a cold but I still went and then you just vanished like fart, leaving a stinking annoyance behind." Layla punched his arm jokingly.

"Man, you didn't know? Zoe came to me wanting to go home because of Alison."

"Pfft. Drunk Ally." She scoffed jokingly, internally hoping that she wasn't too upset and hoped that Jason would not find out how they tricked him to talk to her outside.

"Jeez, Lay. Alison was harassed by Tristan at the dark alley beside the house until her wrist was bruised and then had the nerve to ask her to flash because of the picture blast in school." He clarified which made her let out a gasp.

"What!" Corey called out.

"Oh my gosh." She let out a long sigh, turning to Jason who was still leaning casually on the chair but she noticed the muscle of his jaw twitching.

"She implored that I just ignore it. Man! How can you just ignore something like that as if nothing happened?" He scoffed.

"I never liked Tristan. He's full of shit. No offence but your friend sucks, Rob." Corey added. Then, from a corner they saw Alison stomping her way.

"Al-" Corey called to her but passed their table without a second glance. She tried dragging Mia out of the cafeteria without saying a word, she cursed and wriggled her arms away until they finally broke free from her grasp.

"What are you doing! Let go of me!" She scolded.

"Let's talk outside the cafeteria. You'll only embarrass yourself if you stayed." She stated flatly.

"Don't try to threaten me."

"Try me. I've been playing nice with you all along. Even then, I remembered putting you at your place a few times." She challenged, intimidating her, she was never this fierce before and true that she had humiliated her quite a few times.

"Now." She asserted with a low voice and walked towards the door without looking back expecting her to follow like a good puppy. Hesitantly, she followed surprising the students who watched the little drama.

"What's wrong with you?" She vexed.

"You did it! All this while, it has been you!" She exclaimed vaguely.

"Me? What are you talking about?" She face twisted, looking innocent.

"The letters, Mia. The purple letters. Not forgetting the pictures as well." She averred.

"Why would you think it was me? I wouldn't want to waste my time on such pranks." She chuckled.

"I know it's you. Your little bitch slipped her big mouth so don't try denying it. I want to let you know that you don't get to threaten me. You don't even get to try to intimidate me. I can be a bitch if I wanted to but I choose not to. I've dealt with two-faced, whiny, insecure, spoilt, mean brat like you and it's not difficult to forcefully placed them where they truly belong but again, I choose not to. So, you better keep that in mind. You don't want to mess with me." She emphasized on each word making it more intimidating that Mia was left stunned for a whole minute.

"I've a hundred of pictures of you-" She finally blurted out of desperation.

"Post them. What's another old picture of me in a bikini with Liam? It's not like he's my boyfriend. I know better. Think what you want." She shrugged as she yelled back walking without once stopping nor turning, not realizing that her friends were already at the door with the rest of the student on their way back to class as soon as the bell rang a few minutes ago, including Jason.

"You're the one who spread those pictures?" Layla revolted as she scrunched her face.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She retorted with a wicked smile, finally showing her true self to the whole school.

Zoe caught up with Alison in their English class who was still furious with Mia. Plopped herself on the chair placing her head on the table muttering series of whispered curses.

"Are you okay? You seemed quite mad." She said softly not wanting to be in the way of her rage.

"Oh no, I'm not mad, I'm smoldering in rage. I mean, how could anyone be so cold-blooded and evil to even consider using that against anyone, ever? The length they're willing to go just to get to me just because of their own insecurities. I mean, I would never ever think of using someone's grieve or trauma against anyone for the mere reason of wanting to taunt them. I can't understand how people can be that mean." She expressed with much incensed.

"Yeah of course." She agreed trying to calm her infuriated friend.

"I'm not going to let it get me. I'm letting my rage... to pass. Woo shah..." She inhaled and exhaled opening her palms to the air closing her eyes, her weird way of trying to calm her incensed rage.

"You're weird, you know that? Eminently weird. So, uhm... whose grieve and what trauma are you talking about?" She questioned.

"Figuratively. Forget I said that." She reasoned.
