Chapter 194
Pursuing My Rejected Alpha
194 Greeting Each Other As Mates
When two werewolves established their mating bond with each other, the mutual injection of each otherâs pheromones brought about physicochemical changes that took effect almost immediately.
Exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally, Ronan ended up passing out on the spot.
Lucien remained lucid for some time before he too was knocked out for the night.
When Lucien opened his eyes again in the morning, the first thing that crossed his mind was how warm and stuffy the air inside the bedroom was.
He carefully disentangled himself from Ronan to prevent the latter from waking up.
His clothes had been ripped to pieces so he had nothing to wear. He thus picked Ronanâs shirt from a couch and draped it around his naked form.
Walking across the bedroom, he found a glass door behind a set of thick curtains. It opened to a round balcony.
As soon as he opened the door, the cold winter wind blew inside, purging the room of the smell of their combined pheromones and sex.
Lucien leaned against the railing and laced his fingers together.
.....
âWell, you did it!â Landon spoke up in Lucienâs head. âI am so proud of you!â
Blood gave rise to the crimson blush on Lucienâs cheeks when he was reminded of what he and Ronan did the previous night.
âIt feels surreal,â he told his wolf. âWe havenât even got married yet.â
Lucien did not have any problem consummating his relationship with Ronan, but he did have some reservations about sealing a mating bond with him prior to the marriage.
Landon, on the other side, could not care less.
âYou human beings always make it so complicated,â he growled. âIf it were up to me and Beowulf, we would have done it weeks ago.â
He of course was referring to the time he had sex with Beowulf.
Lucien cringed.
âStop, I donât want to hear it.â
Landon scoffed.
âWhat, you and Ronan can fuck each other freely but you canât stand it when I do the same with Beowulf???â
âJust... Donât talk about it, okay?â
Landon howled inside Lucienâs head.
âAnyway. We worked hard to get to this point. Donât waste this chance for happiness.â
âMmm.â
While Lucien busied himself with his wolf and his thoughts, the other man on the bed stirred.
âI canât say that I am not surprised,â Beowulf immediately started to talk in Ronanâs head. âBut wow. Absolutely fantastic. Lucien is such a dream.â
A dream?
âWas it all a dream, then?â Ronan asked dumbly.
Beowulf cackled like a hyena.
âWhy donât you check your nape for an answer?â
Ronan lifted a hand and started rubbing against his neck. When his finger touched Lucienâs bitemark, he immediately hissed from the pain.
It was real.
The pain was real.
The bitemark was real.
He could still taste Lucienâs blood in his mouth.
Yesterday, he and Lucien...
A faint blush appeared on the Alphaâs cheeks. He rubbed against his face with one hand, while the other hand brushed against the empty spot on the bed. Lucienâs scent lingered on the bed, but the man was not there.
âWhere is he?â Ronan asked again. âDid he run away after marking me?â
Beowulf cackled again.
âFind out for yourself. Just donât mess it up this time.â
Ronan lifted himself to a sitting position with a groan. His whole body felt sore and sticky. And the room was freezing cold!
Ronan pulled the blanket off the bed and wrapped it around his body as he walked toward the source of the cold air.
The view was amazing.
Barefooted and only wearing Ronanâs overlarge shirt, Lucien was leaning against the railing. Beneath the single layer of fabric were the fair shoulders that Ronan loved to squeeze, the slender waist that he loved to grab, and the two round flesh that he loved to knead.
The Alpha had to swallow hard in order to not jump at Lucien and push himself inside the sweet spot between his legs again.
Lucien must still be sore from the previous night.
Ronan cleared his throat, pulling Lucien out of his daydreams.
The man straightened his form and turned to face Ronan.
âAwake? How are you feeling?â
In response, Ronan pulled Lucien into the bedroom and closed the door leading to the balcony.
âItâs cold outside,â he murmured.
Ronan took Lucien in his arms and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. Lucienâs lips were like ice. And so was his whole body.
âLook at you, your body is so cold,â Ronan said with a hint of irritation. âYou will get sick if you stay even a minute longer out there.â
âMhm, sorry.â
He could not help it. The cold air helped to clear his mind and quench the burning fire in his heart.
âLulu, yesterday we...â
âMmm.â
Ronan tightened his hug around Lucienâs slender body. Warmth crept into his heart when his hug was returned by Lucien. He inhaled a lungful of Lucienâs scent and rubbed his head against his loverâs affectionately.
âI dreamed about this moment many times,â Ronan said in a low voice. âYou and me, finally marking each other and becoming true mates. There is nothing I have ever wished for more.â
Lucien buried his face into Ronanâs neck and planted a kiss against his collarbone.
âAre you happy that the dream finally comes true, then?â
Ronan hummed.
âMore than what I can express with words.â
Lucien brushed against Ronanâs lips with his thumb while his other fingers rubbed at Ronanâs cheek.
âAre you okay?â He queried.
Ronan squeezed at Lucienâs fingers and gave them a reverent kiss.
âI am, itâs just...â
âItâs just what?â Lucien urged him to speak.
Ronan sighed.
âI have always wanted it to be the most beautiful moment of our life. A grand celebration of our union as mates.â
Lucien lowered his eyes and pulled away from Ronan.
âWas it not beautiful then?â He asked, gently pushing against Ronanâs chest.
There was a hint of disappointment in Lucienâs tone. Panic climbed into Ronanâs mind.
âOf course it was beautiful,â he said frantically, grabbing Lucienâs shoulders hard and forcing the latter to face his direction again.
âI just wished that it happened in better circumstances.â
Lucienâs lips parted slightly and an âOhâ escaped his lips.
