Warlords MC: Book 6 – Traven : Chapter 9
Warlords MC – The Complete Series
When Deuce answered the call, he was leery and Traven didnât blame him. Without any pleasantries, he just asked straight out, âI know you may not be interested but I need your help.â
Deuce was silent for a moment, âYou need our help?â he paused. âWe donât break the law and we arenât vigilantes.â
Traven ignored this. âHave you ever heard of a drug called Afternoon Delight?â Traven asked. Silence on the other end of the line told him they had. âHow about a group calling themselves the Black Thorn?â
âNever heard of them,â Deuce finally answered.
Traven heard enough noise in the background, so he knew Deuce had called in his brothers to listen in. âDo you know anything about an MC called the Minions of Hell? They might be based in Denver.â
Jack snorted. âThey are based in Denver but they have chapters all over the states, why?â
âThey bring the drugs in from Denver then distribute them wherever they need to go. I have a witness that saw four of them in a survivalist camp, Snake, Raz, Thumper and a man named Chewy.â
âChewy? Is this witness sure thatâs his name?â Ace asked.
âYeah, why?â Traven wanted to know.
âBecause if itâs the same man that I know, heâs supposed to be dead.â Ace growled. âAt least, he should be. He was picking up Afternoon Delight from a local and wearing the local MC colors.â
âWell, he might have been checking out the competition,â Traven voiced his opinion. âHe runs the drugs up from Denver.â
âAccording to the prez of the MC here, Chewyâs been up here for six months, and he came up from the Denver area. The Pres down there was cleaning up his MC but Pepper never did run drugs. When he found out Chewy was picking up, he was pissed.â
âWhatever, but heâs been seen in Shadow Camp,â Traven assured him.
âGive us a call in about an hour,â Ace suggested. âWe should be ready to go by then.â
Deuce got back on the line and asked, âWhat made you call us in the first place?â He wanted to know.
âI thought this might be connected to your local drug problem. And also the other group you have been after. The one with the names of weapons.â
Deuce paused. âHow did you know about that?â
Traven knew this question would come, âI found everything there was to know about you and your brothers, the minute you stepped into Lunaâs life.â
âOk,â Deuce replied. âI get that.â
Traven went on, âI never heard of the Black Thorn group but Iâm sure we will discover a link to tie them together.â
âYeah, if it furthers our mission, we canât ignore this possibility.
âHowâs Luna?â Traven asked.
âSheâs good. She tells me that she wants to know you better. She wants to know where sheâs from and who her family is.â
Silence went over the line.
âI want to know her too,â Traven finally broke the silence on his end. âYou know I used to watch her sometimes. Both her and Collette. Collette was the quiet one and she always obeyed the rules that fucker set for them but Luna always found a way to mess that up. I was always proud of her for that.â
âSheâd love to hear that, man,â Deuce told him quietly.
âWhen this is all over, Iâll make the time to tell her,â Traven promised.
âGive us an hour man, then call back and weâll make our plan.â
Traven ended the call.
When he joined the others, he looked over at Venom. âI called in a group that may know something about this. They call themselves the Warlords and theyâre ex-military.â
Venom nodded. âWe know who they are.â
Traven frowned. âWhat do you mean you know who they are?â
Flint stood tall and crossed his arms over his chest. âWe ran a background on them boss. Did you think we didnât know about your sisters?â
âYou guys knew the whole time?â Traven asked in astonishment.
âOf course we did,â Heathen assured him. âShe was important to you, sheâs your blood man. We did a little digging and found the truth. We just never knew why you didnât bring her in sooner.â
Traven ran his hands over his head and glared at them. âThat bastard had a standing order that if anything happened to him, his men would cut the girlâs throats before they did anything else. I couldnât do anything until the Warlords brought down his empire. They did that a couple of weeks ago. I killed the old bastard myself. I killed his second in command too and let me tell you they both got what they deserved. In Spades.â He looked over at Winter and saw her face paling. He wouldnât apologize for his past but he would never hurt her. He knew sheâd already formed her own opinion about him and what he just said would confirm it. The Reaper. Yes, that had been a theme of his life for many years.
Winter kept staring at him.
He never cared what anyone thought before. Not about him as he always did what he felt was needed. But now, he felt he should explain what drove him to do some of what heâd done. âThe world out there has plenty of evil in it. Most people want to do good and we donât have a problem with that or them. But when we see evil, we do try to stop that.â He shrugged. âSometimes, it takes killing to stop the evil.â He paused then added, âCan you and your brother live with that?â
Will reached up and took her hand then turned to Traven and his men. âWe know all about the evil out there and yes, we can live with the rules. You seem like good men, working for a good cause and Iâm proud to be here.â
âEven if we end up taking out your older brothers?â Traven had to know.
âOur older brothers made their own bed and now, they have to lie in it.â Winter raised her chin up. âThey walked away from us a long time ago.â
âBesides, they murdered our mom and our dad,â Will turned his gazed back to the news, âAnd now they blew up our house, thinking we were inside. To my mind, they got whatever you got in mind for them coming.â
Traven turned back to Winter. âTell me about this man they call Chewy?â
âChewy?â She frowned. âHe used to come and go but lately, heâs been there full time, why?â
âBecause the Warlords knew him. They said he was part of a local MC. But that one doesnât run drugs.
âWait a minute,â Winter whispered, âDo the Hellâs Minions have a ghost riding a bike on the back of their cuts?â
The room went quiet.
Looking around, Winter stared at the men glaring back at her. âWhat? What did I say?â
Phantom, Venom and Flint stood up and turned their backs to her.
Blinking hard, she gasped. They all wore this ghost riding a cycle on the back of their vests.
âIs this what you saw him wearing?â Traven asked.
Nodding, she replied, âThe first few times I saw him at the camp, he was wearing a vest like that. Itâs only been the last two or three weeks that it changed. He now wears the same um⦠logo, the other MC members there wear.â
There were curses and fists pounding on tables in the room.
Traven frowned and looked around. His crew looked pissed and he couldnât blame them. A drug runner had been wearing their colors. This had just grown from a huge problem into a staggering one.
