Chapter 34

Just One Night

“Good morning, beautiful,” Ace said as he climbed on top of her. The moment he started kissing her neck, he felt his manhood getting hard. And when her arms went around him and she ran her leg up and down his, he took that as a sign she wanted him to make love to her. So that’s what he did, not once, but twice.

She lay in his arms, admiring her engagement ring. “This ring is so beautiful, and just wait until everyone sees it. My dad is going to be so happy to hear that we are getting married.”

His fingers intertwined with hers. “Yes, now your father will stop with the hints. But of course, knowing John, he’s going to want to know when we’re getting married. Which, come to think of it, we should discuss a date.”

She smiled sweetly at him. “How do you feel about a church wedding with just family and a few friends?”

“The first time I got married, it was just at the courthouse. So this time, I want to do it right. I want you to have the wedding you’ve always dreamed of. Now let’s set a date, how about a month from now?”

“A month? It’s going to take longer than that to arrange a wedding. First, we have to book a church, I need to get a dress, and ask Eve if she’ll be my matron of honor. This is just a thought, what about if you ask Brett to be your best man? It’s up to you though.”

“I was already planning on asking him.”

“How about we plan our wedding for six months from now?” She was hoping he’d say yes, even though she knew he wanted it to be sooner.

“That’s so far away, but if that’s what you want, then I say yes.”

She climbed on top of him. “Thank you, and I will start planning it right away. But I think we better go home now. I miss my baby so much, and I’m sure you do too.” She was also super excited to show Eve her engagement ring.

“Yes, I am, but first let’s take a shower together,” he said, wiggling his eyebrows at her. He was looking forward to some shower sex before going home. After the shower, he handed her a small box. “I was going to give this to you last night, but something came up,” he said, pointing to his manhood.

“What is it?”

“It’s your Valentine’s gift.”

“But you already gave me one, this ring,” she said, holding up her finger.

“An engagement ring shouldn’t be given as a gift, that should be separate. Now open it.”

She stared at the diamond tennis bracelet. “Omg, this is so beautiful, I love it.”

“I’m glad you love it, you deserve so much more, and I love you.”

When they arrived home, they hurried inside to see Adrian. They were all in the living room with Brett feeding the baby with the breast milk she had prepared before she and Ace went on their date.

Rosalee reached for her baby; she had missed him so much and felt tears coming to her eyes. She looked up at Eve and Brett. “Thank you so much for taking great care of my baby.”

Eve smiled. “It was our pleasure, we loved doing it.”

Rosalee finished feeding Adrian, and after burping him, Ace took him to change his diaper. She loved watching father and son together; he was so good with the baby.

“Hey Ace, have you ever tasted this breast milk?” Brett asked, handing him a clean diaper.

He looked at the younger man and made a face. “Oh my God, no. Please tell me you didn’t drink any of it.”

“Eve dared me to do it. I have to tell you, bro, it’s not that bad. It actually has a sweet taste to it, and you should try it.”

“I don’t think so.”

Rosalee and Eve were listening, and they could see the humor in it.

“Go on Ace, try it,” both women said at the same time.

“No thank you, I’ll pass.”

“Are you chicken? Go on, I dare you,” Brett said and handed him the bottle that still had a little bit in it.

‘I’m not chicken,’ he said and looked over at Rosalee. When he saw the amused look on her face, he shrugged his shoulders. “Okay, I’ll try it.” After handing the baby over to Brett, he took the bottle and stared at it for a minute. He really wasn’t too happy about doing this, but he wasn’t about to let Brett or the women call him chicken. He made a face and squirted some of the milk into his mouth and swallowed.

“So what do you think?” Brett asked with a smirk on his face.

“Actually, it’s not that bad, and like you said, it’s a little on the sweet side.” When he saw the others snickering, he knew he had been tricked. Turning to Brett, he shook his head. “You jerk, you never tried it, did you?”

“Hell no, man, and I can’t believe you fell for it.”

They all had a good laugh over that, but now it was time to let the other couple in on their surprise.

Rosalee deliberately held up her left hand to her cheek so that the others could finally notice the ring on her finger. Eve was the first one to see it, and she let out a loud squeal and ran over and grabbed Rosalee’s hand.

“Oh my God, is this what I think it is?”

“Yes, it is. Ace proposed to me over dinner at the restaurant.”

Brett went over and gave her a hug, and then he turned to Ace and shook his hand. “Congratulations, and it’s about damn time.”

Ace looked over at Rosalee and saw how happy she was as she showed off her ring. “I never thought I’d ever want to get married again, but I was wrong about marriage, and I should have asked her a long time ago.”

“So when is the big day going to be, and are you having a traditional wedding or just getting married at the courthouse like Brett and I did?”

Ace left the talking to her while he cradled his son in his arms, watching him sleep so peacefully. His life had never been this full; he had a thriving business, money, and a family that he loved and adored.

“It’s going to be a church wedding, and I want you to be my matron of honor, and I’m pretty sure Ace is going to ask Brett to be his best man.”

Brett looked over at Ace. “Bro, I would be honored to be your best man. So when is the wedding going to take place?”

“In six months from now, so I’m going to need you to help me pick out the perfect dress,” she said, looking at Eve.

“I would love to, and I know the perfect place to go. I can also help you with the wedding plans if you want?”

Rosalee was beaming with happiness. “Now I have to call my father and Mary and let them know. He is going to be so super excited.”

Later that night, after Eve and Brett left and Adrian was put to bed, she called her father to tell him the good news.

“Hi dad, I hope I didn’t wake you.”

~Not at all, sweetheart, you can call me any time of the day or night. Is everything okay? If that man isn’t treating you right and he hurt you, I’ll come right there and beat the crap out of him.~

“No, dad, he’s wonderful and Adrian is growing like a little weed, but I have something to ask you.”

~What is it?~

“What are you doing the second week of August?”

~Nothing, just the same as usual. Why are you asking?~

“I was hoping that you and Mary would come here because Ace and I are getting married, and I want you to give me away.” She had to hold the phone away from her ear when he shouted out to Mary that Ace finally asked her to marry him.

~Of course, we will be there, sweetheart, and I am so happy he finally is doing the right thing.~

“He’s not doing it because he feels it’s the right thing to do. He’s doing it because he loves me and realizes that what happened to him before won’t happen again.”

After giving her father all the details about the wedding and talking to Mary, who said she would be happy to watch Adrian while they went away on their honeymoon.

Ace was bottle-feeding the baby in the big overstuffed chair that they had in their bedroom for such an occasion. “I take it your father is happy about us getting married.”

She looked over and smiled at him as he burped the baby. It still amazed her how wonderful he was with Adrian. “He and Mary are delighted, and they volunteered to watch the baby while we go on our honeymoon. Oh, that is if we’re going on a honeymoon.”

He smiled back at her. “I told you I wanted to do everything right this time, and that includes a honeymoon. You just have to tell me where you’d like to go, and I’ll book it.”

“Wait, what about your business?”

“Nigel can take care of things, he’s already doing a lot of the work. With Bonnie having taken over your position, I’m sure she won’t mind continuing it until you get back to work.”

“You really think of everything, don’t you?”

“Well, my darling, you are going to be marrying a very smart man. Now, why don’t you take off your clothes, get into bed, and wait for me to come back from putting Adrian in his room.”

She removed her top and bra and smiled wickedly at him. “Don’t take too long or I just might have to start without you.”

His cock got hard when he saw her naked from the waist up. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back in a flash.” After putting his son to bed and giving him a kiss on the cheek, he hurried back to the bedroom. Seeing her lying on top of the covers naked, he quickly removed his own clothes and jumped into bed and on top of her. He never knew when Adrian was going to wake up and interrupt them, so he didn’t want to waste a moment.

Over the next few weeks, Rosalee and Eve started the wedding plans and at night she would go over them with Ace. If there was something he wanted or didn’t want, she would make the changes. Then she had to go shopping for a wedding dress. They went to several dress shops before finding the one she wanted. The church was booked, as was the banquet hall. The invitations were sent out and flowers ordered. It wasn’t going to be a big wedding, just their family and a few of their closest friends, and of course the employees from their office. Which brought the total to just under one hundred guests.

Ace booked a ten-day stay at a beautiful resort in Bora Bora.

When Adrian was born, everyone that worked at the office sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and several gifts for the baby. They all liked the change in Ace; he was a much kinder and friendlier boss. Where once he wouldn’t even acknowledge them, he now always said good morning and good evening at the end of the day. He was indeed a happy man who was deeply in love.

Rosalee’s parents arrived five days prior to the wedding. Yes, she considered Mary a mother. Ace made a point of telling Brett that he did not want a bachelor party because he knew it would involve strippers. He had been to too many parties where there were strippers, and it always caused trouble. There was no way he was going to let anything interfere with his and Rosalee’s love and trust. So instead, they decided to throw what they called an engagement party at their home.

It was a fun-filled night—dancing, drinking, and a lot of kidding around. The only bad thing about that night was when one of the women who was there got drunk and started flirting with Ace.

He had gone into the house to get something from the kitchen when a woman followed him in. There was no one else inside when she approached him.

“Just think that in three days you are going to be a married man.” She had walked up to him and ran her fingers down his chest.

He quickly removed her fingers. “Maddie, you’re drunk, and I think I should call you a taxi to take you home.”

“I was just thinking that since everyone is busy outside, maybe I could give you one last fling before you get married.” She started undoing the buttons on his shirt, only to get pushed away.

“I am not interested in sleeping with anyone else but the woman I’m going to marry. I suggest you stop this nonsense because if Rosalee finds out what you’re up to, you may end up going home with a bloody nose.”

“She wouldn’t have to know, it can be our little secret. Ever since you helped my father get that property, I’ve had my eye on you. I’ve been wanting you to fuck me since then, but you would never give me the time of day.”

“I still won’t.”

They both looked over to the door when it opened and Rosalee came in.

“Is there a problem?” she asked, giving Maddie a dirty look. She wasn’t a fool; she had noticed how the woman was staring at Ace all night. When she saw her following him inside the house, she decided to see what the woman was up to. From the window, she could see the woman coming on to him and was so happy when he pushed her away.

Ace moved away from Maddie and over to her. “There’s no problem, I was just about to call a taxi for her.”

“That’s okay, sweetheart. I’ll do it. You just go on out and enjoy the rest of the evening.”

Maddie started to fidget. “Yeah, it is getting a little late, so I should go home. I’ve had a lovely evening, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage.”

Rosalee walked right up to her and stared her straight in the eyes. “I know you were coming on to him, so let me warn you.”

“Warn me about what?”

“That if you pull a stunt like this again, I will rearrange your face. I know that you just got a nose job, it would be a shame to have to get another one so soon. Now I will walk you to the front door where you will wait for your taxi to arrive.”

When they got to the front door and before closing it, she stared at Maddie with anger. “Stay away from my man,” she said before slamming the door on her.

Ace was standing in the hallway, watching and listening. When she turned around and saw him, he walked up to her. “I hope you know I did not encourage that woman.”

She put her arms around his neck. “I know that, I saw her coming on to you and the way you pushed her away. I trust you, and I always will.”

“God woman, I love you so much and can’t wait for you to be my wife,” he said as he pulled her in for a kiss.
