“Mom,” Elizabeth climbed into a white car by the roadside, looking miserable. “I couldn’t see Mr. Ellison, and now he’s blocked my number.”

Samantha said, “Mr. Ellison is really angry right now, you need to give him some space.”

Elizabeth didn’t understand. “Mr. Ellison?”

“Do you think Mr. Ellison would allow Caroline to stay pregnant? And he doesn’t even know the baby is

his.”

Elizabeth’s eyes lit up. They immediately leaned in together, discussing their plan.

Soon, they reached an agreement. Elizabeth felt much better.

as they were about to drive off, Andrew emerged from Ellison Group.

“Hey, isn’t that the second son of the Ellison family? Just out of jail?” Elizabeth sneered, “I actually had high hopes for him at first, but look at him now, a total failure. Useless.”

Samantha also gave Andrew a longer look.

“Have you met him?”

“Yeah, just a few drinks at the bar.”

Samantha looked thoughtful.

She cautioned, “Elizabeth, don’t upset him for now. He might still be useful to us.”

“Pfft, Mom, what’s wrong with you? What use is he to us? He can’t even take care of himself.”

“Well, you never know.”

Elizabeth didn’t take it seriously. “I still want to deal with Caroline first!”

At the Ellison residence, the kitchen was preparing dinner, with the servants bustling in and out.

David sat on the couch with a laptop on his lap. Caroline ate fruit while watching TV.

The scene had a very domestic, married couple vibe.

The warmth of everyday life.

“Mr. Ellison, ma’am,” Paul interrupted the quiet, “Dinner is ready.”

David nodded and closed the laptop. Caroline, however, didn’t move, still staring at the TV.

She had no appetite. She couldn’t eat anything, but at least she could manage a few pieces of this sweet and sour fruit.

Maybe that’s just how pregnant women are.

Suddenly, the TV screen went black.

“Hey?” Caroline snapped out of her daze, looking at David. “Why did you turn off my TV?”
