Chapter 106 The Sudden Perfect Husband
He tossed the remote aside. âDinnerâs ready.â
âIâm not hungry,â Caroline replied. âIâm full from the fruit.â
As she spoke, she reached for the remote again.
David glanced at her, eyes narrowing. âAre you going to get up yourself, or should I carry you?â
Caroline froze⦠Why is he being so unreasonable and domineering?
âIâm not⦠hungry,â she emphasized, âYou eat, donât worry about me.â

After getting home from work, she had already had some marine collagen soup and fruit, and she felt like she was about to burst.
David didnât say anything more. He just picked her up in a horizontal position and started walking toward the dining room.
âHey, hey, hey, David⦠You!â
The servants lowered their heads, noticing how much the coupleâs relationship had improved. They were becoming more open about their playful banter even at home.
Caroline had no idea what had gotten into David. He didnât care about her wellâbeing before, but now he was suddenly worried about whether sheâd eat.
âYouâre as light as a feather,â David said with a slight smirk, âAnd still not eating properly.â
He placed her in the dining chair, then reached for the spoon and bowl.
Caroline made a move to stand, but his other hand was firmly pressed on her shoulder. âSit.â
It looked like David was concerned about her. I should feel lucky, right?
But only she knew how tense every day had been, always walking on eggshells. When David was in a good mood, he would suddenly turn into the perfect husband like this.
But when he was in a bad mood, she knew she was in for trouble.
This scene made Caroline remember something. âLast time, when the Brooks family sent me breakfast, you did the same thing, pinned me to the seat.â
Davidâs movements paused for a moment. âWhy didnât you eat back then?â
She countered, âWhy did you insist that I eat?â
âBecause you were guilty. You didnât dare eat,â David replied. âWould the Brooks family really dare to poison you in front of me?â
âThey really would.â
âImpossible.â

The abortion pills werenât poison, but they could kill the two lives inside her. But she couldnât let David know that.
âDavid, you always do this, forcing me to do things I donât want to do,â Caroline said. âItâs like when you make me obey you, it gives you a sense of accomplishment.â
He seemed not to have heard her. He placed a full bowl of rice in front of her.
âFinish it.â
Caroline frowned. âWhat if I canât finish it?â
âYou will finish it.â
She really wanted to throw the spoon.
But then, Paul spoke from the side, âMr. Ellison is so considerate, noticing how thin his wife is, feeling so sorry for her, making sure she eats properly.â
Caroline had indeed lost weight.
She wasnât sure wh
especially since she was pregnant with twins. Yet, her checkâups were still normal.
She was a bit undernourished, but she was supplementing, so she assumed it was from the stress at work.
The first set of the âCarozâ lotion and toner had been developed, but the results were still in the trial phase, and how well it would sell was still unknown.
Plus, she had to keep developing the next set of products. Feeling frustrated, Caroline picked up the spoon and poked at the rice, forcing herself to take a bite.
David glanced at her, then placed some vegetables on her plate.
âDonât!â She quickly stopped him. âIâll just eat the rice.â
