Chapter 21

Mr.Billionaire Meets Ms.Clumsy

"What is the thing that annoys you the most?" Christopher starts.

"People who are late," Emilyn huff said without hesitation. "I hate those people if we have scheduled the time. You should come on time." She took a  bite of her sandwich.

"Wow, I got to ensure that I don't be late if I'm meeting up with you." He chuckles.

"My turn, what is the stereotype do you completely live up to?" Emilyn asked

"Hmm." Christopher rubbed his chin with his finger, pondering on the question. "I think being brutally competitive."

"Do you have any examples?"

"Well, is something like my company needs to be number one. If someone in the same industry is getting more recognition or are doing way better than me. I have to be even better." He explains.

"I think that's a good trait for a businessman."

Christopher laughs, "You think that is a good trait, Pierce thinks that I'm crazy. Most of my employees are afraid when something like that happens. They know I'll go crazy." He told her. "Trust me, if you met me like that the first time, you won't want to be sitting in this car right now."

"Well, I'll just have to pray that I don't." Emilyn laugh. "Your turn."

"Have you thought about instead of being a journalist, you will be something else?" Christopher asked.

"No," Emiyln shake her head. "When I was around 13 or 14, I found my desire to write, and from that day on I've decided I would be a journalist," She explained. "What do you do during your day off?"

"Mostly, come to the race track to drive around the track for a while to release some stress from work." Emilyn nod. "How much would you rate me?" Christopher asked.

"Woah, seriously? Why do I have to rate you?" Emilyn asked, shocked by the question he asked.

"Come on, I just want to see what do you think of me?"

"Fine, if I have to." Emilyn huff. "The first time I met you, I think I'll rate you a 3 because you kept coming into my life and being very rude."

"Acceptable, how about now?"

"Since I know you and you have been really nice to me. I'll...give you a 6."

"6?" Christopher said.

"Why? Isn't it enough?"

"I mean is a little low, but I'll accept it." Christopher shrugs.

"So how much do you think you should get?"

"Maybe a 10 or a 9."

Emilyn snicker. "You wish. My turn, What mistake did you make, and will keep doing it again?" She asked.

"Can I skip this question for now?" Christopher said.

"Uhmm...I thought we said we have to answer every question or else we get a punishment?"

"I'll do the punishment instead."

"Is there any reason why you can't answer this question?" Emilyn asked

"I don't have the answer for it now." Christopher turns to look forward.

Emilyn scrunches her eyebrow, wondering why Christopher doesn't want to answer her. "Fine, You'll get a punishment."

"Okay, give it to me."

Emilyn digs into the plastic bag to find some chocolates, "I want you to stuff the whole bar of Hershey chocolate into your mouth in one go."

"Easy." Christopher took the Hershey bar from Emilyn's hand and began to open the wrapper. He pushes the bar of chocolate into his mouth quickly. In the flash, the bar of chocolate is long gone.

"Careful," Emilyn warn him, watching as he tries to chew the chocolate in his mouth. He's about to puke the content out, but cover it with his hand to push it back in.

"Done." He dranks some water before opening his mouth to show Emilyn. She gave him a thumbs up. "Is harder than you think, is so thick." Emilyn laugh. "What are you laughing at?" Christopher asked, drinking more water.

Emilyn shows him her phone, where she took a picture of him trying his hardest to chew the chocolate in his mouth.

"Give it to me!" Christopher shouts, lean forward and try to get the phone.

"No!" Emilyn lean towards her side of the window, trying to get as far away from him as possible. Christopher leans forward over the car console and his body somehow presses against Emilyn's body. His face is an inch away from Emilyn. Their eyes met and are like time has stopped. They continue to stare and Christopher's eyes slowly lower to Emilyn's lips.

"What is he doing?" Emilyn asks in her head. "Is he going to kiss me? Am I ready for a kiss?"

Emilyn swallowed her saliva and stare back at him, not moving at all. A moment of silence between both of them.

"I'm sorry." Christopher suddenly said and move back to his seat. Emilyn let out a breath and tug her hair behind her ear. "I-I, you can keep the picture is fine," Christopher told her, sitting back on his seat, not glancing at Emilyn.

"Okay," Emilyn said with a blush formed on her cheeks remembering the scene.

"Just don't send it to anyone." He said and Emilyn looks at him, but quickly turn away.

"D-don't worry I won't," Emilyn said with a stutter.

"Is getting late, you should sleep," Christopher said. "Do you want to sleep in the backseat it will be more comfortable?"

"Uhmm...Is fine. I'll sleep right here." Emilyn pointed at her seat.

"Do you want to lean back?" He asked

Emilyn nods, trying to find a handle or a button to push the seatback.

"Here, let me help you." He leans towards her like before. As he came closer, Emilyn's heart beat faster and her cheeks grew redder. Christopher presses the button and Emilyn fell back with the seat.

"Woah!" She shouted. "A warning would be necessary."

"Sorry." Christopher apologizes. "Are you comfortable yet?" He asked.

"Yeah, thanks. Night." Emilyn said before turning to the side facing the door. It took her some time, but she finally fell asleep.

***

Emilyn woke up due to the intense morning sun, shining through the window down upon her face. Trying to open her eyes slowly to see what's happening in front of her. She can see someone standing outside, but have no clue who it was.

Slowly, her eyes adjust to the bright light. In front stood, a guy with a grey suit and Christopher stood next to him. They seem to be talking, Christopher turns to look at Emilyn's 's and smile, the guy next to him reciprocate his action.

Emilyn frown. She watches as the guy left and Christopher opens the car door.

"Finally, you're awake." Christopher sat down on his seat. "How did you sleep?"

"Just peachy." Emilyn sits up and there is a jacket on her. "Is this yours?" Emilyn asked, looking at the jacket.

"Yeah, I put it on your last night. Don't want you to catch a cold." Christopher gave her a small smile.

"Thanks." Emilyn tried to find the button to push the seat upright.

"Is the only button to your side." He said. Emilyn pushes the button and the seat went back to its original position.

"Thanks," Emilyn said. "So, what's going on just now?" She asked.

"Oh, that guy was the mechanic. He helps me to restart the battery."

"So, we good to go now?" Emilyn asked

"Yeah." He starts the engine which sounds great. Thank the lord. "Hungry?" He turns to Emilyn

"Starving," She replies. "And have the need to use the toilet."

"Okay, I'll make sure we reach our destination quickly." Christopher laughed

After 30 minutes, Christopher stops his car at the side of a diner. "Here we are." He said and turn off the engine. They got out of the car hurriedly especially Emilyn. She needs to use the bathroom immediately.

"I'll get us a table," Christopher told her and she rushes to the bathroom. Once Emilyn is done, she heads out and spots Christopher.

"Can you help me order?" Christopher asked when she reaches the table.

"Sure. What do you need?"

"A waffle breakfast and some coffee with no sugar." He said and left. Emilyn orders everything for them and answers some messages on her phone.

"Hi, I'm back." Christopher sat down. "Did I tell you to switch the jam out from strawberry jam to blueberry?"

"No." Emilyn shook her head. "Are you allergic?" She said with a worried tone.

"No, no, not allergic. I just don't like strawberry jam, I prefer blueberry jam." Emilyn let out a breath of relief.

"Really, me too. I asked them to switch it out for me." She told him. "You could have some of mine, I don't mind."

"Sure, to be honest. If I don't have blueberry jam on my waffle, I'll be grumpy the whole day."

"Really." Emilyn snicker. "Just because of a jam." He nods.

"My mom said that's the only thing that I need to change, but somehow it still stuck with me." Christopher shrugs. "I need to get what I want.

Emilyn shakes her head, "You got to change this behavior, what happens if you don't get the girl you want?"

"What do you mean? What girl?" Christopher asked confused with a slight raise to his voice.

"The girl you told me that you like and you can't seem to impress her?" Emilyn frown.

Christopher rests his back on the chair and lets out a breath, "Oh, that girl?"

"What did you think I was talking about?" Emilyn asked

"Nothing," He said too quickly which seems suspicious.

"As I was saying to get that girl's attention, you probably got to change that behavior before you scare her off," Emilyn told him.

"I'll try to work on it, but just so you know. I'll always get what I want." Christopher stares deeply into her eyes, Emilyn found herself once again being capture by his ocean blue eyes.

"Here you go, two waffle breakfast, a coffee, and an orange juice." The waiter places the food on the table and Emilyn looks away.

They said thank you to the waiter and pick up their utensils. Emilyn starts to scoop some blueberry jam and place it on Christopher's plate. He looks up at Emilyn and smiles.

"Do you want to continue the game?" He asked.

"Sure." Emilyn nods and places a waffle in her mouth.

"I think is my turn," He said. "What is the last adventure you went on?"

"I think my last is yesterday, being stuck in the car with you is one hell of an adventure."

Christopher laughs, "I hope I've made your adventure memorable."

"I'm pretty sure, I won't forget about it." She chuckles. "If I'm right, you have two siblings."

"No, I got 3." Emilyn tilt her head to the side. "I'm the third son, I still got one younger brother. I didn't introduce you to him on the wedding day because he left early for something." Emilyn nod. "I'll introduce you to him next time.

***

After that breakfast, Christopher drove Emilyn back. He stops the car in front of the apartment.

"Thank you for breakfast," Emilyn said before opening the door.

"Wait." Christopher stops her.

"Yes?"

"Would you like to go on a date with me?"

"What?" Emilyn asked, flabbergasted. "Why are you asking me out?"

"I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't say it like this. I probably scare you." Christopher brushes his hand through his hair. "What I mean to say is that, would you like to go on a date with me, I need your help."

Emilyn scrunch my eyebrows together, "You are saying you need my help for a date?" She asked. "Haven't you go on a date before?"

"Yeah, I did. But this is different. The girl is different, she's kind of not the type of girl I would date." He explains, "She's more like a girl next door kind of girl, something like you."

"Okay?" Emilyn is still unsure of what he's trying to say.

"So, is more like a practice. I would know what to do or where to bring her."

"Okay?" Emilyn reply, "I guess I can help you with that. I don't have much experience in this field, but I'll help a friend in need." She gave a smile.

"Great, I'll send you the details and where we are going." Christopher said with a relief face. "So, are you free the next weekend?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, I'll see you next weekend."

Emilyn nod. Before she opens the car door, she turns and told Christopher, "This counts as a question, you know that right?"

"Yes." He rolled his eyes before turning his lips into a smile.

*BONUS SCENE( DON'T SCROLL OR YOU WILL MISS IT.)*

"All done Mr Evans." The guy who's named 'Carlo' said to close the car hood.

"Thanks, Carlo."

"You know when you called the last night, we are still able to make it." Cato wipes his hand with a cloth

Christopher rubbed the back of his neck, "I don't think I should bother you that late."

"You're not interrupting at all, but I was curious why you didn't want us to come." He said. "But now I see why." He cocked his head in the direction of Emilyn. "Girlfriend?" He asked.

"Not yet, soon," Christopher said with a tug on his lips forming a small smile,  looking at Emilyn sleeping soundly in his car.

"I see." He chuckles. "One piece of advice, don't wait too long before someone gets their chance with her."

"I know. Thanks for the advice."

"I better go now, looks like your girl is awake." Christopher turns to look at Emilyn, seeing her trying to see what's going on outside."

"Thanks again," Christopher said.

"No problem, good luck with her. She seems like a great girl." Christopher gave him a smile and pay him.
