Chapter 4

Mr.Billionaire Meets Ms.Clumsy

"Grandma, I'm home," Emilyn shut the front door with her foot, carrying the groceries inside. She grunted as she lifts the groceries onto the table. "what are you doing with these food?" Emilyn asked when grandma Lou walked into the kitchen.

"On the weekend, there will be a cooking class for the children in the orphanage." Grandma Lou is retired, and she dedicated her time to charity. Charities such as an orphanage or single mothers' programs.

"That means there be leftover." Emilyn eyes widen at the thought of it. "Imagine all of the leftover food." She licks her lips, imagining all sorts of food that she is craving.

Grandma Lou smacks her head, "Ouch!" Emilyn rubs her head in pain. "Grandma!" She whines.

"All you think about is food, do you think of anything else." She said.

"Nope." Emilyn shakes her head and smiles cheekily at grandma Lou.

Aren't you coming with me?" She asked, checking through the bags.

"I'm not sure, will have to check my schedule."

"Alright, I'll bring back some if there is any. But no promises."

"Thanks, grandma." Emilyn smiles and kisses her grandma on the cheek.

"Hold up." She stops Emilyn. from heading to her bedroom. "Did you forget something?" She raises one eyebrow at her.

Emilyn thought for a while until the wires finally connected in her brain. "Right." Emilyn snapped her fingers. "The clothes." She ran towards the laundry room. Picking up the shirt from the bucket, "Hmm... it doesn't look too bad. Just a little more scrub and it will look good."

After placing the shirt into the dryer, She heads back into her room. "Let's see what's in the file." She pulls the file from her bag. A gasped escapes from her lips, "Christopher Evans? I have to interview Christopher Evans!" She pinched the bridge of my nose. "So much for not seeing him again." Emilyn groaned. "Whatever, I'll just sleep it off for now. I'll sort it out tomorrow." Emilym places the papers back into the file and get ready for bed.

The next morning

"Hey!" Someone shouted, making Emilyn jumped up from her seat a little and turned around quickly. "Oh my god, Andrew. You scare me." She places her hand on her chest.

"What's got you so distracted?" He asked.

"The task that Taylor gave me." Emilyn sigh. "I have to do an interview with Christopher Evans."

"But I thought we recently did an interview with him?" He question.

"I don't know, somehow Christopher Evans is so popular. That our magazine needs another section of him in it." Emilyn rolled her eyes.

"Well. I don't think is a bad thing." He said. "Is Christopher Evans. The hottest rich bachelor in New York." Andrew fans himself with his hand. "He can turn a straight guy gay."

"Andrew, stop talking about him that way, is gross." Emilyn winced and shivered in disgust.

"You can't stop me from looking and commenting about a hot guy, whether he is gay or straight, I'll still look." He wiggles his eyebrows, leaning towards her.

"Gross, Andrew." Emilyn pushes him away. "Go back and do your work." She told him, and he walks away not before giving Emilyn a flying kiss. She shakes her head at his action and resumes her work. "Now I have to call him to set up for the interview." Emilyn sigh. "Why does this have to happen to me?"

Before calling to make an appointment, Emilyn practice what she should say. "What should I say when I call? I tapped my chin. "Maybe something like, Hi, I'm Emilyn and...." Emilyn sigh, "You know what, I don't care anymore. I'm going to call and just get it over with." With that determination, she dials the number that was written on the file.

"Good Morning, this is Evans trading company. Who am I speaking to?" The person on the other side of the phone said.

"Hi, I am Emilyn Walker from Livin Real Magazine. I would like to have a meeting with Mr. Evans for an interview." Emilyn said.

"Mr. Evans is free at 11 am today. Would you like to have a meeting at this time?" He asked

"Uhm...sure," Emilyn answer.

"Okay, I'll put you down for 11 am today. See you soon." The person hung up the phone.

"Well, that went well." Emilyn said she took a look at the time on her watch, and it is already 10:45. Picking up her things and putting them in her bag, and head out to Christopher Evans company.

Coincidentally, his office is only 5 minutes away from us. Emilyn enter the building and ask the receptionist, "Hi, I called this morning about a meeting with Mr. Evans?"

The receptionist takes a look at her before looking back down on her computer."Yes, take the elevator to the 30th floor, and his assistant will attend to you. Emilyn thank her and made her way to the elevator.

She waited for the elevator; once she got into the elevator, she rode it up to the top floor. After a while, the elevator dings, She took a step out of the elevator and glanced around the office. It is a private floor, and no one is running around, but a person is sitting outside of the office. Emilyn approached the guy and said, "Hi, I called this morning about a meeting with Mr. Evans?"

The guy looked up and asked, "You are Emilyn Walker?" Emilyn nod. The guy busied himself with something on his desk and got up from his seat. Emilyn followed after him as he walks to the door and knocks on it. From the opposite of the door, Emilyn can hear a deep voice saying, "Come in." His assistant then proceeds to push the door open and leaving Emilyn at the door of his office.

"Emilyn Walker from Livin Real magazine," he said without looking up.

"Yes," Emilyn answered, but not moving at all from the doorway.

He finally looks up and stares at me. "Is clumsy." He said cheerfully. Emilyn glare at him for using that nickname on her. "How are you doing?" He asked, "Come in; I don't bite." Christopher slightly smirk. Emilyn walks further into his office. "are my clothes? Are they clean yet?"

Emilyn clenches her hands into a fist and slowly take a deep breath before unclenching them. "Yes, Mr. Evans. Your clothes are almost ready to be collected." Emilyn said with a fake smile. "But I'm not here to talk about your clothes, I'm here to talk about an interview with you."

"Yes, so I've heard about it. Please take a seat." He pointed to the seat in front of him. "So what's your interview about?" He asked when Emilyn took a seat in front of him.

"For this interview, we need to follow you mostly on your weekends. To find out what do you do aside from work." Emilyn explains the main points. "So what I need to discuss with you today are the location, time, and date."

"I see." He steeples his finger on the table. "I think next weekend my schedule will be free."

"You see Mr. Evans, I forget to mention one detail." He raises his eyebrow. She took his silence and continues. "I might need to occupy two of your weekends." Emilyn finish explaining and wait for him to say something. "If you are not comfortable with this plan, I can always change it to however you want Mr. Evans."

"Christopher." He said out of the blue, leaving Emilyn frozen and confused. "Call me Christopher."

"Okay, Uhm... Mr..., I mean Christopher. If you want to change anything you can tell me." Emilyn repeat.

"Your plan is totally fine. Don't fret about it." He gave a comforting smile. Emilyn tugged her bottom lip in her mouth, biting it and focusing on other things instead of Christopher.

"Okay, since Mr... I mean Christopher you are fine with the plan. I'll need to know the locations on where you want to do your interview as soon as possible."

"Okay, I'll text you once I've made up my mind." He said. "You still have my number right?" He said with the left side of his lip tug upward into a smirk.

"Yes." Emilyn nod. "You wrote it with permanent ink which doesn't come off that easily." She said. "Anyways, is there any other thing you would like me to explain?" Emilyn prays in her mind that he would say no and let her go.

"How would you like to grab some lunch with me?" he asked

Emilyn's eyes grew wide, and she said, "Uhm...I don't think that's necessary. If there is nothing else, I'll be going." She stood up from the chair.

"I'm sure as busy as you are, you have to eat right?" He said, standing up from his chair making his way towards her in a slow stride.

I have a strong urge to accept his offer because of the food. "You have 10 seconds to think about it or I'll take back the offer." He said, giving Emilyn some time to think about it. Emilyn pondered about the thought of having lunch with him, but my stomach betrays her. "Uhh...I think I'll accept the offer." She reluctantly said.

He smiles, "Great, let's go." He places his hand on her back, Emilyn body stiffens, and she feels the tingles growing up her spine. His warm, huge hand on her back, leading her out of the office.

When they enter the restaurant, the waiter hurried to show them to their table. While the waiter led them to our table, many eyes were looking at her. Emilyn looks up and glances at Christopher, how he walks with his head up high with lots of confidence.

"I don't know but you are really fascinating." Christopher said when they had ordered their food. He smiled and propped his chin on his hands which are on the table. "You cross out 15% of the girls I've dated who don't really eat much."

"Thanks?" Emilyn reply with a question mark. "I believe is important to eat. Without food, I will literally die." Christopher chuckles at her reply.

"So I believe you are the type who would always have snacks on your desk?" He asked.

"How you know?" Emilyn gasped.

"Just a lucky guess." He shrugged his shoulders. "Sometimes I believe I could read people's mind."

Emilyn shakes her head and rolled her eyes at him, "Yeah, right." She twirled her straw on her drink. Their food came, and they continue talking about some small things or Emilyn's project.

"Thanks for lunch." Emilyn told Christopher when they step out of the restaurant. "I could pay from my part of the food." Emilyn said,

"I ask you out for lunch, I should pay for it." Christopher told her. "You don't have to worry about it, you don't owe me anything." They walk down the sidewalk, and many eyes glance at them, most likely females.

"Have you realized that there are tons of girls eye-raping you since we walk down this sidewalk?" Emilyn told him.

Christopher chuckles, "I'm already used to it." They stopped in front of Emilyn's office, "Thanks again for lunch." Emilyn turns to face Christopher.

"No problem, this has been the most amazing lunch I've ever had." He smiles. "I hope we could do this again."

"Uhm...sure." Emilyn tucks the lock of hair falling onto her face behind her ear. "Just remember to tell me the location, date and time." Emilyn reminded him.

"Hold on, I don't have your number." He said. Emilyn took out her phone and sent him a message. "Okay, I got it." He said.

"Is that all? If yes, I'll be going."

"Yeah wait a moment. There's something I need." Emily looks at him curiously. "My shirts, when can I get it back?"

Emilyn rolled her eyes. "By tomorrow."

"But tomorrow is a weekend. Are you making excuses to see me on my day off?" He questioned

Emilyn groaned, "No I'm not. By Monday." He nods his head. "Okay, I got to go." She bid him goodbye before heading back into her office building. Emilyn is not telling Ana what happen just now. She knows that Ana is going to scream in her ear and said, "I told you so." She is not going to risk her hearing for this small matter.
