Chapter 46

Mr.Billionaire Meets Ms.Clumsy

"Why hasn't anyone call me?" Emilyn throws her hands frustratedly into the air. "They should, is been like one day."

"Maybe they caught up with something?" Ana said.

"But, they could at least give me an update on the situation. A text would be nice."

"Have you text them?" Ana asked.

"I did, since the day of that accident." Emilyn throw her phone on the couch

"Patient, they will call," Ana said

"If Finley didn't call you when he goes outstation to work, will you freak?" Emilyn asked

"of course," Ana said immediately.

"And you are asking me to be patient?" Emilyn frowned.

"Sorry, but sometimes we will freak out, but we can't do anything. Just sit and wait for their call." Ana told her.

A call ringing jolted her from the slumped position on the couch, "Is Christopher." Emilyn showed Ana her phone.

"Answer it, what are you waiting for?"

Emilyn press it, but Jax's face is on the screen. "Jax?" She frowned.

"Hi, Emilyn. Sorry for not replying to your text. We have been busy."

"Where's Christopher?" Emilyn asked.

"Right here." He moves his camera to the bed. The camera fidget and Christopher end up on the screen.

"Hi, baby." Christopher waved and said with a smile.

"Don't hi baby me." Ana chuckled at the side, Emilyn gives her a sharp glare before turning her head back to the screen.

"I'm sorry, but we were handling something." He said.

"You could at least text me or tell me what happen to you?" Emilyn looks at the white patch on the side of his head. "How bad it is?"

"This?" He touches the bandage. "This is just a small wound, I got hit and collided with the steering wheel."

"Hey, Emilyn." Jax came onto the screen. "You didn't know, Christopher was...." Christopher shut his mouth by placing a hand over Jax's mouth. Emilyn scrunched her eyebrows at the scene.

"Is nothing, don't listen to him," Christopher said. "You should go to bed, is late."

"Late? Aren't you the one who is six hours earlier than me?" Emilyn asked. He chuckled, "When are you going to be back?"

"Probably next week, I got one last race."

"The finalist race?" Emilyn asked

"Yeah"

"When are you getting discharged?"

"By tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll see you when you come back." She smiled at him.

"I love you, bye," he said, and Emilyn waved back at him and ended the call.

"Still not saying it back?" Ana asked.

"Just give me time," Emilyn said. "I'm new to this relationship thing." She huff. "Is relationship this hard?"

"No, you are using too much of this." She pointed to her head. "You should be using more of this." Then, Ana pointed at her heart. "If you follow it, it isn't that hard anymore."

Emilyn sigh. "Like it is that easy to listen to your heart." She mumbled.

***

Emilyn fidgets in her seat she couldn't sit still. She is excited because Christopher is arriving today; she kept checking her phone.

For the race, Christopher came in second; he's disappointed but was determined to win the next time. Jax told Emilyn that he's already preparing for the next race.

"Hey, Emilyn." Andrew sat on the edge of her table. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing much, just working on my assignment," Emilyn told him.

"You haven't told me about your trip to Italy."

"That's because you weren't in the office, these past few days," She said.

"Now, I'm here. Tell me all about it." He said.

"Well, I didn't get to explore much. Got to leave early because of a family emergency."

"Oh, but you have fun right?"

"definitely," Emilyn said with a smile.

"I heard Christopher is still there, not worried?" He asked

"Worried?" Emilyn knitted her eyebrows together. "Why should I?"

"Because of this." They turned around to the voice. "There's an article saying that they spot Christopher Evans and model Chloe Anderson together on the street of Italy." Savannah reads for her computer. "The picture doesn't look that nice at all."

Emilyn slides her chair to her desk to get a closer view. The picture is of Chloe and Christopher walking on the sidewalk with her hand wrap around his arms. "No, nothing is going on between them." Emilyn shakes her head. "They are just very good friends, that's all."

"You mean past lover turned into friends." Andrew raises an eyebrow. "There's no way is purely just friendship." He shakes his head.

"I trust Christopher, he told me nothing is going on with them," Emilyn said

"Keep your eyes open Emilyn and keep you man closer," Savannah said. "Who knows one day Chloe Anderson might turn your man against you. And the one getting hurt is you."

Emilyn slides back to her desk, and thoughts of the scenario keep running through her mind. She shakes it off, she trusts Christopher. If he said there's nothing, there is nothing.

***

After visiting the hospital, Emilyn got back home, checking her phone every minute but still nothing. She then decided to change into a comfortable outfit before sitting on the couch, watching some tv to pass the time.

While watching tv, her doorbell rang. She

got up from her seat immediately. "It must be Christopher." She thinks. When she opens the door, she is met with Christopher; but something is not right with his expression. He is frowning and his lips in a straight line.

"Rist?" Emilyn said cautiously. "Are you okay?" He didn't say anything, then he grabs her wrist, "Rist! What are you doing?" He pulls her out of the door, but she stops him. "My shoes."

Christopher stops and grabs the shoes at the side of the door, putting them on for her in a hurry. He stood up still with a frown and grabbed her wrists again.

He pulled her out of the door, but before they left, Emilyn quickly grabs her keys that are hanging on the side of the wall near the door.

Christopher said absolutely nothing as he drags her into his car and pulls the seatbelt across her chest. He then gets in the car and drove full speed ahead. Emilyn clung onto the handle at the side of the car and shouted, "Rist! Slow down please!" But he didn't listen and accelerate more.

Emilyn's eyes were closed the entire ride, and soon she felt the car slowed down. She opens her eyes to see that they are turning into Christopher's parents' house. "Why are we here?" Emilyn asked herself. The door to her side opens before she can fully understand what's going on.

Christopher unbuckled her seatbelt and pulls her out of his car. Then, he continues to drag her into the house.

"Hey, Christopher, what are you doing home?" They walked past by Daxton. But Christopher did not respond and walk past him. Emilyn turn around to see Daxton with his eyebrow scrunched up and mouthed to her, 'what's going on?' Emilyn only manages a shrug before Christopher pulls her away to god knows where.

Christopher then barged into one of the rooms, and he finally said something, "Tell me what you said to Emilyn on that day?" He shouted. Emilyn was shocked that he knows.

"Hi, nice of you to drop by." His father said behind a wooden table. "Have you heard of knocking?"

"Dad, I'm serious. Why did you say all those things?" Christopher grip on Emilyn's hand tighten. She tries to loosen the hold, but nothing works.

"I'm just trying to help you to make a choice."

"Help me make a choice? I don't need your help." Christopher said. "You don't get to control me anymore. I did what you ask me and take over the company." He glared at his dad. "You said once I take over the company and you won't control me anymore."

"Listen here son, I just want what's best for you. And clearly, she is not." His dad looks at Emilyn unamused.

"Who are you to tell me what's best for me?" Christopher shouted in fury.

"Emilyn, as I said before. The check is here." Christopher's dad slides the check towards Emilyn. "If you want it, is here anytime." He smirks. "Just break up with my son and all your problems will disappear. If this amount is not enough, I can write you a new one."

Emilyn eyes stare at the check and back to Christopher. He's glaring at his dad, not making any movement. She wanted to open her mouth to say something, but Christopher beats her to it.

"She won't be needing your money and I'll be the one who says when we should break up," Christopher told his dad. He tugs on her hand and pulls me out of the room.

"You know I can take away your position if I want to." His dad shouted as they walk out.

"You do know that the company is under my name now, so you." He emphasizes the word you. "can never try and take it back without my consent." Christopher smirks and slams the door shut.

Christopher continues to pull Emilyn through his house. "Christopher, there you are. Your brother said you came back. What's wrong?" His mum asked.

"Nothing Mum, I need to handle something. I'll see you next time." He told her. "Handle something? Handle what?" Emilyn thought.

They got into the car again, more like Christopher buckled her into the car, and they drove off to somewhere.

Finally, they arrived, Emilyn recognized this place, Christopher finally stopped his car. He turns off his engine, got out of the car and slam it shut.

"What am I going to do? He is furious. He is probably going to dispose of me on this cliff. I'm going to die." Emilyn contemplates. She cautiously got out of the car and slowly walked towards him, taking a step at the time.

She stops a few centimetres away from him and Christopher starts, "why didn't you tell me?" He asked.

"Because...." Emilyn said softly and stop. She doesn't even know what she should say to not get killed.

"Tell me Emilyn!!" He shouted, and Emilyn jumped back a little. "I want to know, tell me!" He stares at her intensely. Christopher is furious.

Emilyn bit her lip and said, "because I don't think is a big deal."

He scoffs, "not a big deal, not a big deal." Christopher repeats the words. "What made you think that my dad threatens you to leave me with money, not a big deal." He takes a step closer to her.

"Do you know how mad I was when I found out?" He takes another step. "I was questioning myself, why didn't she tell me? What's the problem." He stops right in front of Emilyn. "Is it something I did that you don't like, I didn't treat you better or you're thinking to break up with me?"

"Christopher is not like that, is not what you think." Emilyn shakes her head.

"I'm pretty sure it is. I waited so long to finally got you as my girlfriend; then, after many pushes, we made our relationship public." He said. "And during our trip, you throw in one coin into the fountain." He sigh. "Do you not want me anymore?

"No Christopher is not what you think."

"Then tell me why? Why don't you want to tell me when my dad threatens you?" He asked.

"I-i did stand up to your dad when he told me." Emilyn takes a deep breath before continuing, "I don't want you to find out because I don't want you to worry about it. Trust me, I didn't think of taking the check."

"Worry me?" He questioned. "You not telling me worries me even more."

"But I don't think it is necessary to tell your dad because..." Emilyn looks down on the floor. "Because I love you, and I know no matter what, I won't break up with you." She said it so quickly.

"You what?" Christopher asked. Emilyn bit her lip and shift her leg in nervousness. "Tell me what you just said." She remains quiet and hangs her head down.

"Emilyn, tell me what you just said." Christopher lifts her head with his finger on her chin.

Emilyn looked up and stare into his eyes and said, "I love you." Once those three words came out of her mouth, Christopher places a kiss on her lips.

He back her up to the car door, one hand holds onto her waist, the other on the side of the car door. His movements are fast and quick. He deepens the kiss and pulls her close until their chest touches.

In between the kiss, Christopher hoists her up, and she wraps her legs around his waist.

"Say that again." Christopher breaks away from the kiss breathlessly.

"I love you." And he gives her a short kiss. Christopher kept asking her to say the words repeatedly and kiss her right after those words.

"Again."

Emilyn giggles, "are you going to kiss me every time I say it?"

"Maybe?" He smirks

"That's enough." Emilyn put her hand out on his chest, creating some space between them. "I thought you are mad at me?"

"Not anymore." He smiled. "F**!" He suddenly cursed and placed her down on the ground. This made Emilyn to scrunched her eyebrow.

Christopher open the backseat door; Emilyn watches him as he took out a hoodie from the backseat and put it over her head. "I'm sorry, I dragged you out like that." His eyes look down at her outfit—a pair of short pants with a t-shirt.

"You could at least let me changed first." Emilyn hugs the material closer to her. "Instead you appear at my doorstep, not saying a single word." She frowns.

"As you said, I was mad at you." He grins.

"So, now you are not mad at me anymore?" Emilyn asked.

"A little." He makes gestured with his fingers. "Come here." Christopher pulls her into a hug. "I miss you so much." He kisses the top of her head.

"I miss you too, you know if you weren't mad at me. I would run into your arms the second I open the door."

"You were?" He looked down at Emilyn.

"Of course." Emilyn snuggled into him deeply.

"Can you promise me to never keep a secret from me again? If my dad ever threatens you again, tell me."

"Okay," Emilyn said in his shirt, and it came out muffled. "And you shouldn't either." She looks up at him. He nods.

"Come on, I should get you back home. Your hands are freezing." Christopher said, rubbing his hands against hers. He cupped her hands into his and breathed warm air into it.

"Eww!!" Emilyn giggle.

Christopher chuckled and led her back into the car. "Thank you." Emilyn quickly leans in to kiss his cheeks when he buckles her in. He smiled and gave her a short kiss before closing the door.

"Stop looking at me," Christopher said when he enters the car and starts the engine. Then, he turns to look at Emilyn. "or we will never leave this place." He smirks.

"Does it still hurts?" Emilyn stretches her arms out to touch his wound at the side of his head.

"No, don't worry about me. Is fine." Christopher takes her hand into his. "Just a minor concussion that's all." He gives a small smile. "Your hand is still cold." Christopher pulls on the sleeves of the hoodie and stretches it so that it covers her entire hand. And also, he turns on the car heat.

"You are too good for me," Emilyn told him. "Hey, why did you bring up that fountain coin thing?" She asked curiously.

"Nothing, just wondering why you throw in one coin."

"Because I want to visit again." She answered. "Thank god I did, I only visited parts of the city." She pout.

Christopher chuckled, "I promise you, your wish will come true." He winked.
