Chapter 6
Mr.Billionaire Meets Ms.Clumsy
"Thank you for coming today, Mr Evans." The head of the orphanage thanks him.
"No problem. I enjoy and have a lot of fun playing with the kids today." He smiles, "If there's any problem, I'll be willing to help." The head of the orphanage nods her head and head back inside the orphanage.
"We shall take our leave now." Grandma Lou said.
"Would you like a ride back to your house?" He asked. At the side, Emilyn prayed that her grandma would say
"Sure, we would like that." Grandma Lou answers. Emilyn heard, and her shoulders slumped down, and she groans.
"Alright, my car is just a few blocks from here, you guys won't mind if we walk?" Christopher asked
"No, no problem at all." Grandma said. "Don't take me as an old women who can't walk." Grandma laugh.
Emilyn rolled her eyes and followed after them. Stomping her foot each time she takes a step.
When they stop at the side of his car, Christopher unlocks his car, and Emilyn's grandma said, "Sit in front, Emilyn." Emilyn opens her mouth, and no words came out.
"But...I don't want to." Emilyn leaned down towards her grandma and said softly.
"Emilyn, don't make Mr Evans look like a driver." She scolds
"But...I mean, he is a driver since he offers to drive us back." Emilyn shrugged her shoulder.
Her grandma hit on her shoulder, "Emilyn, don't argue with me and sit in front. She glared at Emilyn, challenging her to say anything.
"Is there any problem?" Christopher asked us, seeing that they didn't make a move.
"No, there is no problem. We can go now." Grandma Lou said with a smile. Christopher opens the back door for her. Once he closed the door, Grandma Lou glared at Emilyn and pointed her finger to the front seat. Emilyn huffed in defeat and mouthed the word fine.
"Let me get the door for you." Christopher said with a toothy grin.
Emilyn sigh and got in the passenger seat, and muttered, "Thank you." Christopher slightly nods and close her door before walking around the car to get to his seat.
Emilyn gave him our address once he's in the driver seat. Once they have arrived at the front of Emilyn's apartment, Grandma Lou ask him, "Mr Evans would you like to come in for dinner?" Emilyn groans and prays that he doesn't accept the offer.
Christopher takes a glance at Emilyn, and she glared at him, shaking her head slowly. Christopher's lips turned into an upwards smile, and he said, "Sure, why not. I'm quite hungry."
Emilyn slaps her forehead and groan. Why can't this guy seem to leave? He is everywhere. Christopher opens the door and helps grandma Lou out of the car.
"Are you allergic to any food?" Grandma Lou asked.
"No." Christopher answer.
"Alright, let's head in and fill that stomach of yours." Grandma Lou said and led the way.
Emilyn rolled her eyes and frown. She is annoyed by seeing this guy. First, she spills some drinks on him, and then the interview is now coming to her house. How worst can this day get?
"Come on, Emilyn. What are you standing there for?" Grandma Lou shouted, seeing her still standing at the side of Christopher's car.
"Coming," Emilyn called back and lightly jog to the main entrance of the apartment. Finally, they got onto the elevator, and Emilyn tries to distance herself between Christopher and herself. But Christopher moves closer to her.
Emilyn's body was already close to the elevator's wall, but Christopher still kept moving closer to her. The elevator door finally open and she quickly made a move to get out first.
"Okay, I'm going to cook." Grandma Lou said once they enter the house. "Emilyn, take care of our guest." Emilyn opens her mouth to say something, but Grandma Lou returns with a narrow stare. Emilyn sigh and agree with a nod.
"So this is where you live." He glanced around the house, which is not too big to capture all in one look.
"Why?" Emilyn asked. "Is it that important to you?" She raises her eyebrow.
"I could come in and take pictures of you sleeping and sell it on the internet." He said with a smug look.
"What?" Emilyn said in shock. "Why would anyone wants a picture of me sleeping?" She scrunches her eyebrow. "That's so creepy."
"Would you like to try? Maybe you might make money out of it?" He smirks.
"You can't come into my house, without me knowing. I keep the door shut and you can't climb through the window is too high up." I said.
"Are you challenging me?" he whispered into Emilyn's ear.
Emilyn gulp and her heartbeat increased as he is so close to her; she quickly pushes him away, "Please stay far away from me." She warns him
"Looks like someone gets nervous around me." Christopher smirks.
"Get over yourself, who do you think you are?" Emilyn scoff. "I want you to be 1 foot away from me. I don't want to catch whatever disease you have."
"Keep denying it." He sings. "One day, you'll beg for me to be close to you."
"Yeah right, the day when I die." Emilyn rolled her eyes at him.
Grandma Lou calls for them and interrupts their conversation. Emilyn is glad that her grandma calls because if she has to stay with Christopher for another minute, she will blow.
The entire dinner Emilyn focused on her plate whilst Christopher, and her grandma kept conversing back and forth.
"Thank you for the dinner, it is delicious." Christopher told Grandma Lou. At the same time, he is helping to place the dishes into the sink.
"No problem, come over anytime when you want to eat my food."
"After this round, I definitely will." Christopher smile, he pulls his sleeve up and takes one plate, but grandma Lou stops him before he could do anything else.
"Mr. Evans what do you think you are doing?" Grandma Lou asked.
"I'm helping you to wash the dishes." Christopher said.
"Put that down, you are a guest. You shouldn't help wash the dishes." Grandma told him.
"In another word, she is afraid you don't know how to wash it clean." Emilyn said while wiping the table.
"Emilyn Walker." Grandma Lou turned around and scolded her.
"What? Is the truth." Emilyn said.
Grandma Lou shakes her head and turns back, facing the kitchen sink, "don't mind her, now why don't you go to the living room and I'll take it from her." Grandma Lou suggest.
"Alright." Christopher said.
"Emilyn go and entertain the guest." Grandma Lou told her while scrubbing the plates with a sponge
"Why?" Emilyn washes the cloth. "Clearly you need some help." Emilyn eyes all the dishes in the sink.
"Nope, I don't need any help. Go and entertain the guest. You can't let him stay out there alone."
"Fine." Emilyn knew if she kept making excuses, she would never win. With her shoulders slumped and a frown on her face, she walks to the living room.
Plopping herself onto the couch, a seat away from Christopher. "I don't know why you don't like me." Christopher start. "Normally, girls likes it when I give them some attention."
"Maybe I'm not a girl." Emilyn kept her words short. She took out her phone and scrolled through it mindlessly.
Both of them didn't talk after that. Sitting on the couch looking on their phone, Christopher will often take a peek at Emilyn. Just curious.
If he couldn't get her to talk, there's no reason he couldn't look at her. As she is scrolling her phone, he notices her eyes and lips will form into a small smile. It must be something funny.
"Alright, I'm all done." Grandma Lou came out from the kitchen. "So, what are your guys talking about?"
"Uhm....not much." Christopher put his phone back into his pocket. "Is getting late I think I should get back." He said, standing up from the couch.
"Alright." Grandma Lou nodded. "Is lovely having you here for dinner. Emilyn showed him out."
"Why? The door is just right there." Emilyn pointed at the door.
"Emilyn." Grandma Lou said her name in a stern tone.
"Fine." She huff and get up from the couch. Christopher follows behind her.
"Here you go, this is the door," Emilyn opens the door and stood to the side, not looking at him.
"Hey, doesn't this seem familiar?" Christopher taps his fingers on his chin.
"Please just leave," Emilyn begged; she turns to the side to see her grandma watching them.
"Oh right, I got to tell you something." He said and leaned forward. Emilyn watch as Christopher leans forward; she took a step back. "I'll try to come over for dinner as much as possible." He whispers into her ear.
"What?" Emilyn frown and push him away. She turns her head and let out a breath. Her grandma wasn't watching them. "I've told you to stay 1 foot away from me." Emilyn glare at him.
"And this is your first time and last time having dinner at my house." She places her hands on her hips.
"That's not what your grandma told me."
Emilyn groans and curse under her breath, "Anyways, goodbye, and please don't come back ever."
"By the way, I saw you staring at me at the orphanage."
Her jaw drops, "You definitely saw wrongly. I would never do that, why would I do that." Emilyn's eyes began to wander somewhere else instead of him.
"I know what I saw, and you can't deny it." And that time when you try to balance yourself and place your hands on me." He smirks.
"That happens, so?" She question. "But that doesn't mean you have to wrap your hands around my waist." Christopher's face looks stunned, and now is Emilyn's turn to smirk how the table has turned.
"Whatever." He shrugs. "Oh right, you are still going to see me soon and very often too." The corner of his mouth lifts into a smirk.
"See you soon, Clumsy." He continues. Oh, if you are asking me about my schedule, feel free to call me. I'll answer or maybe not."
"Hey, we have an agreement. You said you'll apply to my condition. So, what I say goes." Emilyn, cross my arms.
"But, you are doing an interview with me. So isn't it suppose to be both sides. If I'm not comfortable with it, I can cancel the interview immediately." He smirks.
"Fine." She huff.
"But don't worry, I always keep my words. I won't cause much trouble for you." Emilyn frown; this guy is so confusing. One minute he's acting like a jerk, and the next, he's nice. One fact that Emilyn can confirm is that he is annoying and attractive.
"Anyways, it is getting late. Bye." He said and walk out. Emilyn takes it as her chance of freedom and quickly shut the door, taking a deep breath in. "Is going to be okay," She said. "Once this interview is complete, we will never cross paths ever again.
Her phone notification alert ring; Emilyn took out her phone and swiped to see the message. "Hey, Clumsy. I forget to ask. You forget to give my shirts back." Christopher message.
Not this again, Emilyn facepalm her forehead. "Sorry, I completely forgot about it."
"If you want to keep it, you should just ask." He texts back,
"No, I want nothing to do with your shirt. I'll return it to you on Monday. Just tell me when you're free."
"Monday, I'm free. How about during lunchtime?"
"Yeah, is fine with me."
"Goodnight, Clumsy. I'll see you on Monday." Emilyn groan. She made a reminder on her phone to bring his shirts to the office on Monday.

Somehow, I feel Christopher is such a jerk to Emilyn. But I created this character. ð¤¦ââï¸Anyway, what do you guys think? He's somehow funny and likes to tease her, and sometimes I feel like I want to punch him. But do you think he likes her yet??? (â¿â â¿â )
