Chapter 8
Mr.Billionaire Meets Ms.Clumsy
After the ring shopping trip with Finley, Ana asked Emilyn out for a shopping trip. She just got back from a mall and really want to stay at home for once, but Ana got another plan for her.
Ana literally came into Emilyn's house because she got the spare key and dragged her out to go shopping with "What do you think about this?" She pulled up a sleeveless crop top with a checkered pattern on it.
"Don't you own that already?" Emilyn look at the top.
"No, I don't." She frowns.
"Yeah, you did. I think you wore it to lunch last week." Emilyn recalled.
"Fine." She sigh. "If I can't buy it, maybe..."Ana place the top infront of Emilyn. "Looks not bad on you." She tilts her head to the side.
"No, I'm not getting that." Emilyn shakes her head and push the top away.
"Fine." She places it back on the rack. After putting it back on the rack, she went to another rack and pulled out a few tops, pants, jeans, etc.
"Ana, that's too much," Emilyn exclaimed, seeing her both arms covered in clothes.
"I don't think so. I'm going to try them on." She heads to the changing room. While she's in the changing room, Emilyn sat outside on one of the chairs.
"Hey, are you feeling all right?" Emilyn asked from outside the changing room.
"Yeah, why won't I be." She replies back, the hanger hitting on the wall while Ana take the clothes out from the hanger.
"You don't crazy shop when you're feeling fine."
"I don't shop crazily, and I only took a few." She came out and showed Emilyn her outfit. Emilyn gave her a thumbs-up, and she went back in.
"That doesn't look like a few." Emilyn started. "You always shop for clothes when you're sad, and when you're happy, you'll shop for jewelry or shoes."
She came out and sigh, "how do you know?" She asked.
"Because we have been friends since the first year of university . You don't think I catch your behavior?" Emilyn chuckle.
Ana came out of the changing room with a brand new outfit. "Yeah, you're right." Ana sat down next to Emilyn. "Fin and I have been dating for two years, and I don't know is he going to pop the question."
"Have you talk about marriage to him yet?" Emilyn asked, bitting her tongue trying to spill the proposal secret.
She shakes her head, "Maybe you should ask him?" Emilyn suggest. "Or you can propose to him first."
She scrunches her eyebrow at me, "I don't think I can."
"Why?" Emilyn asked. "Isn't this the 21st century? A girl can always take the first step?"
"I don't know, plus I don't know if he wants to get married. With my family background, I'm always scared he can't take the pressure and leave me one day."
"Don't worry; if he can't take the pressure, he would have left earlier." Emilyn tried to comfort her. "He would be stupid not to marry you. Who cares if your family is a socialite? You are the kindest, humble, and friendly rich person I've ever met." Emilyn smiled at her.
Ana smiled back, "Thank you, Em." She hugs me. "You are the best."
"Now." Emilyn let go of the hug, "are you going to get everything you took?"
"Of course." They laughed. After Ana pays for all the outfit, we carried the bags and put them in her trunk. "So shall we get something to eat before we head home?"
"Of course, who do you think I am?" They laugh and link their hands to the restaurant.
"So, how's Christopher Evans? Did you meet him?" She asked curiously while we wait for our food.
I rolled my eyes, "Annoying and the worst person ever. And yes, we did meet. Twice."
"What?" Her eyes widened in shock. "When? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I know you'll react like this."
"Come on, just tell me. Please." She begged.
"Fine, but you got to remain calm," I warn her, and she nods. "First, I set up a meeting with him because I have to interview him, and he invites me to lunch." She shriek. Emilyn shake her head and continue, "Second, we met at the orphanage."
"The orphanage? The one that you and Grandma Lou visit often?" She asked
"Yup."
"So what happened?" She asked
"When I went to the storage room to get the tomato sauce and the tissues, the tomato cans are too high up. So I took a mini ladder to climb, and suddenly I hear a deep voice. I turn around and saw him. He helps me and our fingers brush." Ana's eyes widen as Emilyn explain. "I was startled, I can't keep my balance, so my hands landed on his chest, and his hands wrap around my waist."
"Oh my gosh!" She shouted. "How come you didn't tell me immediately? This is so amazing." She squeals.
"Ana, don't be so happy about it. It is just once in a lifetime thing. Once, I'm done with the interview; I'll never see him again."
"Don't be so negative." She brushes off my comments. "So, how is his chest?" She wiggles her eyebrow at me.
"What do you mean?" Emilyn asked, scrunching her eyebrows.
"What I mean is that is his chest firm?"
"I guess so?" Emilyn said.
"Oh, come on, you got to touch Christopher Evans's chest. You should be grateful."
"What? Grateful? You got to be kidding me." Emilyn scoff and shake her head.
"Em, you are the only girl who would think of that. Any girl who met him would want to touch or sleep with him."
"Why would they want that?" Emilyn shiver in disgust.
"Because he is the hottest and richest bachelor." She said.
"Whatever." Emilyn rolled her eyes. "Anyways, I think I'm winning."
"Yeah, right."
"Because his attitude towards me is so mean. He acts like a jerk, but sometimes he treats me nicely. Like that time, he invites me to lunch and pays for it too."
"Hmm..." She taps her finger on her chin. "I think he likes you."
"What?" Emilyn scoff. "Yeah right."
"In my experience, sometimes guys act like a jerk towards girls they like. So they can hide the fact they like you. Because they are not sure if you might have developed some interest in them."
"Funny." Emilyn laugh it off.
"Come on, just believe me. My theory can never be wrong."
"But he kept teasing me, and remember the first time we met, he makes me clean his clothes," Emilyn grumble. "And the second time too."
"I mean...you spill your drink on him. So isn't it right if you clean it up?'
"But why can't he take it to his laundromat?"
Ana shrugged, "I don't know why. But, maybe, you can ask him yourself?" One of the corner of her mouth lifted and one of her eyebrow lift up.
"No, I'm not going to ask him. I'll only speak to him for business purposes." Emilyn cross her arms.
Ana sigh, "My sweet, sweet Emilyn. So innocent and naive." She shakes her head. Emilyn narrowed my eyes at her. "So what else did he do to make you label him as a jerk? Because everyone calls him a heartthrob or man of my dreams."
Emilyn shakes her head at what Ana said about him. "He called me Clumsy." Emilyn frown. "I only spill things on him twice. I'm not clumsy."
Ana chuckle, "Well, you kinda are."
"Please tell me why?"
"Remember that time; you got your locker wrongly. You key in your password so many times."
"That was because my eyesight is terrible; I got glasses for that," Emilyn said.
"Okay, fine. In college, you trip on the stairs in the lecture hall. Face flat." She laughed.
Emilyn rolled her eyes, "Fine."
"And is not only once, is many times." She laughs slightly louder. "Oh, and your glasses broke."
"Ana, stop it. I get it." Emilyn said, stopping Ana to continue on. "that's why I got contacts. That was so embarrassing,"I can barely see the whole day. The worse day of my life."
"Is so true." Ana nod her head.
"Ana, why are you standing on his side. You should be standing on my side." Emilyn pout.
"Sorry."Â She took a sip of her drink. "So, when is the next time you're seeing him?"
"Not sure?" Emilyn shrug. "Maybe, until he gave me the information for my interview." Ana nods. "Remember to tell me the interesting details between you and him. I know there be more." Ana gave a playful wink to Emilyn
"Urgh." Emilyn groaned.
