"...Lauren, I'm so sorry, I... I don't know what to say right now." Jade replies as she watched her wipe away her fallen tears. "I honestly wouldn't know what to say either if I were you, and there's no need to apologize, I can see you had no part in this. This entire thing was his decision." Lauren says, just before silence encumbered the two females. Lauren decided to break it, "I have a question though." She says, grabbing Jade's attention, "I'm all ears." She responds intently. "Have you had any conformation on whether he is or not? Like, has he said or done anything to you, or maybe you heard something from somebody?" Lauren asks now looking up at Jade, and the curly headed brunette pondered for a moment.
The first thing that came to mind was actually just recent, when Eric had whispered something to Four in the fear simulation room. "He did actually. He whispered something to Four earlier today and I'm about ninety-five percent positive it had something to do with me." Jade pauses, thinking back to when Four had kissed her in front of him. "Would you like me to ask Four what he said?" She asks, and Lauren gives her a nod. "Oh and another thing," Lauren suddenly says, "you and Four are serious and totally exclusive right?" She questions. "Absolutely." Jade answers without hesitation. "You love him right? And, I apologize in advance if I sound a little crazy with this next one but, you're not like... secretly falling for Eric or anything like that right?" Lauren nervously questions, and Jade's face contorts into disgust.
"Oh god no, never have fell and never will fall. I can guarantee you, my heart belongs to one man and one man only. And I can't lie, he's both my best-friend and my soulmate." She replies looking up at Lauren, who oddly enough had her eyes on something behind Jade. She wondered as to what was behind her, that is until two hands slid onto her waist, and a chin rested on her shoulder. "Best-friend and soulmate huh? I hope that's me you're talking about." An all too familiar voice said, and Jade couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Of course I'm talking about you," She pauses, turning around to face Four, "I wouldn't talk about anybody else like that." Jade says. Making Four smile as he tucked a curl behind her ear.
"Hey you two, get a room please." A voice says walking up from behind Four, and as expected Liam approaches. "Oh hush, you're just jealous because you don't have a girlfriend." Jade fired, and Liam put his hand over his heart, offended. "Ouch. That was pretty candor of you." He says. "Sorry, I guess it just slipped out." She replied with a grin and a shrug. Liam laugh-scoffs, "Typical, only a hippy would apologize after insulting someone." he comments. Four instantly stiffens up and glares at Liam, not all that enthused at the insult he just threw at his girlfriend.
Liam meets his slightly aggressive glare, "shit-I mean, u-uh, ..I-I uh.." He nervously stumbles over his words, making Lauren, Jade, and even Four laugh. "Cat got your tongue? Or is Jade's scary boyfriend making you st-st-stutter." Lauren jokes, and everyone besides Liam laughs even harder. "Ha. Ha. Very funny. Assholes." Liam says. And just then, Jade could spot someone in her peripherals. It was someone that absolutely no one wanted to see in that very moment. "Aren't you guys supposed to be getting started on the new training for next years initiates?" Eric harshly questions as he approaches the group. Jade looks over at Lauren on impulse, to see her reaction to his presence.
And as expected, she looked at him with a frown, but she also held this glint in her eyes. A glint that didn't need explaining. Jade looked over to Eric in pure hatred, "we were actually just about to get started on that so, if you don't min-" - "you guys should've already been started." Eric interrupts, bloodstreams begins to boil. "Why are you even in the training room Eric? Why don't you go be a dick somewhere else, and we'll gladly get to work on that." Jade fires at him, and Eric clenches his jaw. "Could I talk to you for a second Jade?" Eric asks and looks over at Four, who happened to be clinging onto her arm, "In private." He adds to clarify. Jade rolls her eyes and steps in the direction Eric was headed in. Or at least, she tried to, but the strong grip on her hand kept her in place.
She looks up at Four after looking down at her hand tightly entwined with his. She places her other hand over his knuckles and gave him a reassuring look. "I'm just gonna see what he has to say, don't worry." She tells him, and pecks him on the cheek before he finally releases her. He and her friends watch as she walked away, towards where their Dauntless leader impatiently stood. Once she was in front of him, she crossed her arms and sighed. "Why am I over here Eric?" She asks annoyed, and the blond furrows his eyebrows. "I wanna know what makes you think you can talk to me like this? Without punishment at that." He asks seriously, and she laugh-scoffs.
"I know the exact reason why I can say whatever the hell I want to you and get away with it. It's getting pretty fucking obvious." Jade replies nonchalantly, and if she saw correctly, she could've swore she witnessed Eric's expression contort into worry for a slip second. "Oh yeah, and what reason is that exactly?" He questions, crossing his arms. He said it as if he didn't already know her answer. "It's cuz your sappy ass is in-..." She stopped talking the moment her eyes spotted something that didn't belong. As Eric crossed his arms, something on his right hand hit a ray of sunlight coming from the windows of the training room. And that something, was a ring; an all too familiar ring. She casually stepped out of sight from her boyfriend and friends, grabbed his wrist, and pointed to the wedding band, "Eric where did you get this from?" She questioned looking up at him.
"Oh that? Found it in the lost and found. Why? It can't be yours." Eric asks confused. "Of course it's not mine," Jade paused and reached into her pocket to retrieve her mother's identical ring. She pulled it out and showed it to Eric, "but it is my fathers and it's identical to this one." She adds. Eric rolls his eyes, "oh yeah right, that ring could be anybody's." He says. And Jade huffed, "yeah no, I said identical for a reason, I can tell you exactly what's engraved on the inside of both rings." Jade says, "and after I do I want my fathers ring back." She demands.
Eric scoffed as he twists the ring off and looks at the inside, "it's says, Family, before faction. J + A .H." She says, "My parents names are June and Anthony, and my family name is Harris." Jade tells him. Eric continues to examine the ring, "this ring obviously means a lot to your family, which means you'll probably do anything to get it back right?" He questions, wiggling his eyebrow. She rolled her eyes and huffed, "In your fucking dreams loverboy, you know it belongs with me, so why can't you just give it to me Eric?" - "Ooo repeat that last part for me, a little slower this time." He says, making Jade cringe. "You're disgusting, now I suggest you give me my father's fucking wedding band before I get my brother and Four involved." Jade demanded angrily, and Eric laughs. "Oh nooo, I'm so scared I might just shit my pants. Shits runnin' down my leg as we speak. Go get your twin and boy toy, I don't give a damn." Eric says sarcastically, waving his hands around.
Jade turns a bright shade of red and she clenches one of her hands into a fist, preparing to punch Eric. But she eventually relaxed, realizing she couldn't possibly deck a leader in the face and get away with it. She un-clenched and walked away, back in the direction of Four, Lauren, and Liam. She remained the same shade of red all the way to the group of three, "woah Jade are you okay?" Lauren asked, seeming she was the first to spot her walking up. All Jade did was shake her head no, with an angry expression. And that was all it took for Four to become worried, enraged, and curious all in one instantly. He straightened up from being leant over on a railing and came to her aid, which qued for Lauren and Liam to give them some privacy.
"What did he say? Did anything happen? " Four asks concerned, rubbing her arms, eventually he uncrossed them completely and held her hands. "Take me to where Miles is and then I'll explain. He's gonna need to hear this too." Jade says, and Four nods. He takes her hand and pulls her along to the exit, into the hallways of Dauntless. "Wait." Four says stopping, and looking back at Jade. She looks at him confused, "what's wrong?" She asks confused. "Nothing, I just..." Four trails off as he gazes into her eyes.
He leaned in and ghosted his lips over hers for just a moment, before gently kissing her. She kiss him back but soon melted under his touch and her knees almost gave out. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself close to him. He eventually pulls away and runs a hand through her soft brown hair. "I can't stand seeing you upset. I know that doesn't really solve what ever it is that Eric said, or why we're going to find your brother but, I wanted to at least try." Four said to her, and her smile grew. "Thank you, Tobias. I love you so much." She says, and as always, "and I love you so much more Natalie." He replies, placing a kiss onto her forehead.
"Again, with the one upping me." Jade huffs, and the two of them laugh. Four then grabs her hand and continued to guide her in the direction of the surveillance room, where Will and her brother were. They enter through a room Jade has passed many times, but had never entered, until now. Four leads her pass the rows of computers and desks, they even passed a few people on those computers. They hit a corner and Jade could see the back of her brother's and Will's head. They stare at the many screens in front of them, clicking through different surveillance feeds. Jade and Four stood just a few feet behind the two boys, Will had noticed them, and then smacked Miles on the arm.
"Ow. What was that fo- Oh! Hey sis, and scary instructor boyfriend of said sis. What's going on?" Her brother asked swiveling around in his wheelie chair. "Can we talk in the hall? It's about Eric." His sister asked him, and the tone in her voice made him curious as he stood to leave. "That can't be good." Miles adds, as he does this quick handshake with Will and tells him he'd be back. The three headed out in the halls of Dauntless, and into a vacant hall across the way. "What happened with Eric?" Miles asks, and shakes her head.
"I'll get to that but first," Jade pulls out her mother's ring for the second time, "We need to explain our situation to Four." She says handing Four the ring. "What situation? And who's ring is this?" Four questions. "That's my mother's wedding ring, and she gave it to us along with some unexpected news on visitation day." Jade begins, and Four looks at her and her brother perplexed. "What news?" He asks, and Jade looks to Miles before looking back to her beloved boyfriend. "The news was that me and Jade had never actually been twins," Miles answers, and Fours eyes widen.
"And that's because we're actually a set of triplets, and our long lost little brother is somewhere in this building as we speak." Jade chimes in with, and Four's expression changed into pure bafflement. "That ring you're holding was suppose to help us find him. My father gave up our little brother William along with his own matching wedding band to a lady here in Dauntless since Amity, at the time we were born, only allowed households of four." Jade explained further, and Miles furrows his eyebrows at her. "Was supposed to? Don't you mean is going to help us?" Miles asks confused, and Jade shook her head no. "That's what I was about to get to, I said supposed to because I know exactly where our father's ring is," Jade confesses, and this time, Miles eyes widen. "It's on Eric's stupid fucking finger and I need both your guys help to get it back." She tells them, more than determined. And the two eventually look back at her the same.
