Gravity pulls Natalie down, her long bouncy brown curls fly in the wind. She was silent and tense the whole way down, until her back met with a very large black net. The first impact of her body on the net made her bounce back up into the air, causing her to burst out in laughter. Once she stopped bouncing she took a moment to collect herself by putting both of her hands onto her face. She replaced the laughter with a sigh and smile as the she could fell the net being tugged from the left. She rolled in the same direction and looked up.

"Woah.." Natalie breathes as she gawks at the man who had pulled the net, the man laughs. "What? Did you get pushed?" He asks, Natalie was shaken out of her gaze. "Nope." She tells him cheerily as he kindly helps her out of the net and onto the solid ground beneath them. "What's your name?" He asks and she brushes her hair out of her eye sight, "It's Nata..." she trails off finally getting a good look at the man in front of her. She was caught off guard by the mans good looks. Dark brown short hair, chocolate brown eyes, and a jawline so sharp it could cut metal. "Is that a hard one? You can pick a new one if you want but make it good, you won't get to pick again." He looks at her intently as she catches her breath, Natalie figured her first name seemed too perky for Dauntless so she decided to go with her middle name. "Okay, my names Jade." The unknown Dauntless member in front of her smiled at the sound of her name, and then looked off to the side.

"First Jumper, Jade!" He shouted just before he looked back to her, "Welcome to Dauntless Jade." He says to her, she smiled just as he directed her to wait over to the side. Soon she could hear a familiar scream coming from above, she looked up only to see her brother falling through the hole and onto the net. Once he was off the net he approached her with a bewildered look, "What a manly scream you got there big bro." She teased, making him roll his eyes. "Whatever, miss sunshine and rainbows." He fired back, "hey! You're from Amity just as much as I am mister!" Jade playfully pushed her brother, anticipating his retaliation she smacks his hand away as she notices all the other Dauntless born and transfers, including Christina and Beatrice -now known as Tris-, had jumped and were gathered near the side. The man that welcomed her ordered for the crowd to listen and gather around.

"Dauntless Born go with Lauren, transfers stay with me." The Dauntless born follow a slim, pale brunette with purple dyed strands. "Hey," Miles nudged Jade and pointed to the same man that helped her off the net. "That's the guy I was talking about yesterday, with a number for a name and all." And the focus returned back to this man supposedly named "Four". "I'll be your instructor throughout the stages of Dauntless Initiation." He paused, "My names Four." He confirms, Jade looked at her brother who was trying his best not to laugh. And instead of him laughing, Jade heard a feminine chuckled from in front of her.

"Four? Like the number?" Christina asked with a grin on her face. "Exactly like the number." Four answered seriously, Christina held her grin but this time had a devious look on her face. "What happened? One through three were taken?" Four rolled his eyes as most laughed at Christina's joke, including Miles. Jade lost her smile, only because she didn't find the joke funny. Jade watched as Fours eyes bounced back and forth between Miles and Christina as he inched his way closer to the two of them. But Jade happened to notice he set his eyes with hers for just a moment, before looking at Miles and Chris.

"What's your name?" He asked looking down at Chris, she clicks her tongue and kindly gives him her name. "Well," he paused, "Christina, the first lesson you learn from me, if you wanna survive here, is keep your mouth shut. Do you understand me?" She replies with a yes and Four nearly backs away, until he meets eyes with a grinning Miles. "Oh and also," Four mutters as he slips pass Christina and another initiate to get to Jade's brother, and quickly looks him up and down with a slight scowl on his face. Miles doesn't flinch, but he did drop his smile, and replaced it with this unfamiliar aggressive expression. "What's so funny Miles?" Four asks a good few inches away from Miles face.

"Nothin Four." Miles replies, the smirk he had found its way back onto his face. And even though he appeared unaffected on the outside, he felt unbelievably threatened by Four, and his sister could see it. Jade smacks her brothers arm, "You can stop with the whole tough guy act Miles." He smacks her back, "I'm not acting tough Nata-," Before he could blurt out her real name she elbowed him in his side. Four cleared his throat, grabbing their attention, "What are you guys, siblings or something?" Four asked looking between the both of them. Jade nods, "yes actually, he's my idiot twin brother." She answers pointing to Miles. And even though she could feel her brother's glare she focused on Four. The Instructors eyebrows raised in fascination, "twins?" Four questioned. Both Jade and Miles nodded in unison, which caused them to look at each other in unison. Four looks at the both of them, but mostly at Jade, "Makes sense." He said matter-a-factly. "Anyways, if you all will follow me." Four then turns around and begins to walk in a certain direction. Four first shows the transfers the pit, and he tells them it's the center of life at Dauntless. For Jade, it seemed like a huge whole in the ground that connected the halls of Dauntless together. It had tall rigid stone walls, with railings of stairs, and various tunnels, leading to unknown areas throughout Dauntless Headquarters. The pit also had a glass pane roof top, which allowed for sunlight to shine directly into the pit. From above, Jade could also see people, but not just any people, Dauntless members. She could see many laughing, talking, goofing around like expected; she could even see a few fighting, for fun.

Four then shows them were they'll be sleeping for the time being, it was a large room with dozens of beds and in the far corner were the bathrooms, everything out in the open, including the showers and toilets. After that all the new initiates got changed out of their old factions clothes and put on their new orange-lined Dauntless attire. Eventually they all head out to the cafeteria, Tris and Chris looked for somewhere to sit throughout all the picnic-table styled metal benches. Jade spotted their instructor sitting off to the side with little to no people near.

Miles and Jade sat on the opposite side of Four, next to two other male transfers. Jade was pretty close to Four, considering she was nearly right in front of him. Tris, on the other side of the table hesitantly picked up a burger patty with a fork and put it on her plate, and examined it. Jade grabbed one as well, looking at Tris curiously, "what?" Tris asks, "Have you never seen a hamburger before?" Jade questioned, preparing her food. "No, I've seen one, it's just I've never eaten one." The once abnegation girl explained.

"Abnegation eat plain food. Plant based-type, no sauces and minimum seasons." A boy with brown hair and brown eyes chimes in with, and it was the same boy who had ask Eric a question up on the roof earlier. "Which textbook did you swallow?" Christina jokingly asks, making everyone laugh. "Nice to meet you too, I'm Will. Erudite." The obvious Erudite greeted, "Of course you are," Christina paused and looked to Tris. "No offense but I'm surprised abnegation even eats at all. Too self-less right? No wonder you left." The obvious Candor said to Tris, just before taking another bite of her food. "You gotta be pretty self confident to be friends with a Candor." Will said, Christina furrowed her eyebrows, visibly offended. "What's that suppose to mean?" She asked. "You have no filter, you say the first thing that comes into your head." Will answers in his defense.

The once Candor beside Will, named Al shakes his head, "uh like, 'you're an idiot'." He says and the group of newly made friends laugh together. "Nice one Al, at least we tell the truth." Christina adds, "Erudite can tell the truth because we have the facts." Will responds with. "I don't wanna hear about your old factions, you're Dauntless now." Four suddenly interjects, looking at the now slightly startled group. Jade noticed Tris looking at Four very ...determined, "Were you a transfer too? Or Dauntless-born?" Tris asked. Four looked at her and shook his head, "Are you kidding?" He asks, "No." Tris answers. "What makes you think you can talk to me?" Four questions her, giving Tris a confused look.

"It must be because you're so approachable." Tris responded with, and Jade chokes on the attempted swallow from her drink. "Careful." Four mutters into his own cup, he takes another drink and looks at Tris and once again, just for a split second, at Jade; Just before someone comes up and taps Four on the shoulder. Jade looks over at her blonde friend, "You my friend, have a death wish." She says, making Tris laugh as Will leans in to whisper, "You know he was first in his class. They tried to recruit him for leadership twice, but he said no." Everyone watched as Four leaves the table with another member of Dauntless. The group continued to eat and converse between each other. Soon people began to bang their cups -regardless if there were liquids in them or not- onto the table to grab the attention of everyone in the room and put it all on the Dauntless leaders above them on the cafeteria balconies.

The main one Max, ordered the initiates to stand and told them about how he wants them to be brave and make Dauntless proud. Everyone cheered and eventually, Dauntless members picked up all the initiates and carried them. Jade, Tris, Will, Miles, Al, Chris and all the other initiates were crowd surfed throughout the cafeteria of Dauntless. Everyone was cheering and enjoying the new tradition Dauntless brung.
