After Divorce, She Becomes the Billionaire Heiress ( Sylvia and Cyril )
Chapter 90 Lewis Returns Home
Sylviaâs work was going relatively smoothly, apart from the occasional trouble caused by Ingrid, there wasnât much that was a headache. That morning, she noticed that Bark was nowhere to be seen and learned that he had gone to the final dress rehearsal, gearing up for his concert next month.
Stanford and Bruce were both in the dining room, and the family of three sat down for
ât Sylviaâs phone was breakfast together. They didnât usually talk about work at the tabl incessantly ringing since she woke up, leaving no chance for it to stop.
âCanât you put your work aside for a moment in the early morning? Must it interfere at this hour? Is the day not long enough for work? You used to not be so committed to your job, but look at you now,â Stanford grumbled, feeling slightly frustrated. He rarely had the chance to have a meal with his daughter, and when he did, she was preoccupied with work.
Sylvia tried to laugh off her fatherâs comment and put her phone down to eat her breakfast. Although she wasnât replying to any messages, her phone continued to ring persistently until she had no choice but to mute it. Stanford looked pleased with her decision.
Stanford suddenly remembered something, âNext week, Lewis is coming back to the country. His artificial intelligence project is doing very well, and heâs at the forefront with AI technology. What are your thoughts?â
another Sylvia was momentarily freed from work concerns, only for Bruce to bring up business matter, much to Stanfordâs visible disappointment. He just wanted to have a normal breakfast with his children, without any talk of work. He didnât recall them ever being so workâobsessed before.
Sylvia looked up at Bruce in surprise. Why hadnât she heard of Lewisâs return?
âI had Ingrid inform you about this. Did she not tell you?â Bruce replied, taken aback by Sylviaâs clueless expression.
The fact that it involved Ingrid explained Sylviaâs ignorance of the news. Given Ingridâs dissatisfaction with Sylvia and her longing for Sylviaâs position, it was no surprise she hadnât passed the message along.
âI wasnât informed, but it doesnât matter now that I know. Are you sure about Lewis coming back? Heâs been abroad for years, focusing on AI lately, which he only began preparing in recent years. Getting involved now might be too late for us,â Sylvia analyzed thoughtfully. She was aware of Lewisâs leading AI company and its impressive progress. His venture hadnât lacked funds since its creation, which contributed to its success.
âI remember recently he announced a concept aiming for fully autonomous driving, but reliable AI is essential for that. The technology isnât mature yet, so most industry experts are skeptical about his approach,â Sylvia shared, her mind racing. She understood the immaturity of AI technology. If they decided to invest or collaborate at this point, there was certainly money to be made.
Bruce nodded in agreement. âYouâre spot on. AI isnât fully ripe yet, and thereâs a whole bunch of folks eyeing that slice. Now that Iâm back, Iâve decided to start hunting for partnerships. After all, AI has made some sweet strides, and Iâm ready to push it forward while researching new AI tricks.â
Researching two big things at once means shelling out a mountain of cash. Even if Louis was swimming in money before, heâs probably got to think about the finance game now.
Sylvia got the picture loud and clear.
âSo, big bro, you want me to reach out to Louis, see if we can team up or something?â Sylvia asked.
Bruce cracked a smile and nodded, âThereâs no rush, because after the news broke, lots of folks tried to get in touch with Louis already. No word yet. Guess heâs not keen on the
attention.â
âWho knew Louis had such a backbone, huh? Thereâs not much gossip about him, and I donât know him well. But turning down so many people? Thatâs pretty cool. Maybe worth a
closer look.â
If he hasnât given a peep after all this time, it means heâs either not impressed with the crowd or heâs still picking his team.
âBut letâs circle back to this later. Heâs flying under the radar right now, nobody knows what heâs up to. Weâll talk when we hear something. For now, you should take care of things on Ingridâs end. Better sort it out soon, or youâll be caught in a tight spot.â
Bruce was always keyed into Sylviaâs progress and knew Ingrid kept stirring up trouble behind the scenes. He didnât step in because he trusted Sylvia to handle it.
Sylvia noddedâit was time to sort out Ingrid for good.
After they wrapped up the big talk, the siblings dropped the business chatter.
Seeing they finally paused, Stanford huffed loudly, clattering his utensils onto his plate.
âI thought you two only had work on the brain, totally forgetting to eat. Youâve been talking forever. Can we please just eat our meal now?â

At Stanfordâs playful scolding, the brother and sister couldnât help but give a sheepish laugh, promising to drop the topic for real this time.
