CHAPTER TWELVE

Paisley Redmond P.O.V

It was already 4:45 and my kids were still not home. I was worried sick about them, worried that Kyle would make false promises to them as he did to me.

I don't know why did I agree on sending the kids with Kyle, but I remember mom told me that every child deserves a father, and so do my boys.

I have been pacing around the drawing room for the past half an hour, while Luke is sitting telling me to wait patiently.

"He will get them back, Paisley. You pacing like a mad woman here won't get them home fast." Luke said slightly annoyed.

"I know, he can't just take them away from me while I am here, but it's been too long. They were suppose to be here by 1 and look its already 4:45." I told him.

"Why don't you call him? Just ask when will he get the boys back." Luke suggested the obvious like a genius.

"I called him thrice but he isn't picking up his phone." I muttered.

"Then do it again!" Luke said in-a-matter-of-fact-tone.

I was about to hit the sign to call him when the bell rang.

I practically ran out and opened the door.

My face broke into a huge smile seeing my life's standing on the door with big smiles on their adorable faces.

I bent down to their level and hugged them tight as if my life depended on it.

"Let them go, tiger. You are making it difficult for them to breathe." Luke said chuckling, he must have followed me.

I pulled away kissing their foreheads and frowned a little when I saw them holding some extremely expensive toys in their hands.

"Now now boys, didn't I tell you not to buy something mommy never bought you?" I said.

"We didn't ask for them, mommy. Dad took us to a toy store and asked us to buy anything we liked." Ryder said, and his face told me that he wasn't lying, they never do.

"Let's go inside and then we shall talk about this." I said and motion all three of them to follow me inside the house to the living room with Luke on my side.

Once we entered the living room, all of us took our seats.

"Okay. So what did you both do today?" I asked them.

"We watched a movie had ice-cream that's all, mom." Noah said giving me sheepish simle.

Oh! I know that smile, he is surely hiding something from me.

"Ryder darling, please tell mommy what all did you and Noah do today?" I purposely asked Ryder cause he's not a very tough nut to crack between the two. Noah on the other hand, can be extremely stubborn and secretive.

"We jumped on the bed, had three scoops of ice-cream, watched a movie, went to the park and played, had lunch and bought the toys we liked. We even talked to daddy about you coming and staying with the three of us there." He said way too quickly.

I am sure that evil man must have put the idea of the four of us staying together in their head.

"Noah and Ryder Smith......" I said when Kyle growled cutting me off.

"Redmond! It's Redmond, Paisley." Kyle growled.

"Enough! Do not growl Kyle!" I warned him. "So, my boys you both have done all the things you aren't suppose to do today. Now go up to your room like good babies and don't come down untill I come up to you, okay?" I told them sternly.

They immediately ran upstairs after kissing Kyle's cheeks and thanking him for the toys.

When I was sure they were in their room I turned to Kyle.

"So, you did feed false hope to my children! You are shameless Kyle! Playing with the minds of such innocent kids. I regret sending....." I accused him directly and he cut me off.

"I did not! I never gave them any false hope! They brought up the topic, not me. And if I would have been shameless, I would have turned them against you, which I didn't! I know I have done some shamefull deeds in the past, but I am a changed man, Paisley. You have to understand that I will be everything you want me to. Only you and our boys matter to me! What I told them after they brought up the topic of you coming there with the three of us, was that it wasn't possible yet. Once me and you sort out the grown up stuff we all would be together that's all!" Kyle said and scoffed.

"See, telling them that all four of us will be together is giving them false hop, Kyle. I have told you many times that it will not happen and my decision will be the same. I had sent the boys with you so that the three of you could get comfortable around each other and get to know one another. But you clearly didn't stick to that. Why?" I asked him.

"Leave it Paiseley! He will always resort to his cheap tricks. Playing with the minds of gullible and innocent people is all he can do." Luke spat looking at Kyle with disgust.

"Shut up! I have has enough of your nonsense, Dawson! You have been meddling in my family matters since the time I have come here. What do you think, I don't know you put it in Paisely's brain to comeback to London till the divorce proceeding are done? Like the loving mother she is her mind would have gone about the custody of the kids not coming to London for the divorce proceedings. Stop manipulating my wife! And just stay away from our f*cking matters" Kyle said to Luke with such venom in his tone that I was a little intimidated, a little.

"So what, Kyle? If he is telling me something that can help me get rid of you, then why shouldn't I listen to him and consider his suggestion? I hate you Kyle! I will do anything to get away from you." I said defending Luke who has helped me throughout.

"Y-you ha-hate me?" Kyle asked his face showing pain and hurt. I somehow felt gulity about making him feel this way but brushed it off knowing he deserved it.

"More than anything else." I replied curtly.

"Fine! Hate me all you want, but you cannot change my mind about getting back together. Cause I f*cking love you Paisley! I love you with everything in me." He said looking at me so intently, I'm sure he would have even noticed the spilt ends of my hair.

"You think saying you "love her" will undo your animalistic deeds? It won't Redmond! You are nothing but a sick bastard! You can't lure her into your trap this time too. I'll make sure she does not get affected by you." Luke said his words reeking of protectiveness and concern.

"Think whatever you want Dawson! It really dosen't affect me. All I know is I want my woman and children back and I will have them with me. I don't want low lives like you coming in my way. Better stop interfering or else things will get ugly!" Kyle threatened Luke.

"Ha. I am not scared of you boy! I know what I am doing. All you can do is give empty threats, cause that is all you know. You are an empty man, Kyle. You have nothing with you. You are so unfortunate that you could not even see your children growing up for the last 3 years......" Luke attacked Kyle and I immediately stopped him.

"Stop Luke! This is not something you can use to attack each other. Whatever it is between the two of you, solve it like grown men without brings my kids in between. You have helped my alot Luke, I owe you lots, but I won't tolerate you bringing my kids in your matters. I am sorry if I sound rude but I am a mother and I will never allow it!" I said sternly to my friend, making sure to get my message across for once and for all.

"Your heard what she said Dawson. Be a man! Don't bring the kids into our battle! We are both fighting for the same reason." Kyle said and I stood there confused. Is Kyle trying to take away Luke's firm from him? God! He will be shattered if that happens. He has worked hard day and night to build himself. I just hope Kyle does not succeed in his plan.

"I know Redmond! But you can never take it away from me. I did a mistake once but now I know what to do. And remember I do not repeat the same mistake twice! What you are fighting for is, my everything! I'll make sure you won't ever get it." Luke said smirking at Kyle.

Hearing Luke's words Kyle went to him and punched him square in the jaw sending him to the ground.

"Luke!" I screamed and ran towards him.

Kyle was still throwing punches at Luke, and Luke punched him in the side.

"Get off him, Kyle! Leave him" I said trying to push him off Luke but he didn't move. "I said leave him, Kyle Redmond! Let go of him this instant!" I shouted at him.

Suddenly Luke kneed Kyle in the stomach and stood up.

"Getting into fights, huh, Redmond? I'll show you!" Luke said punching Kyle hard.

Kyle fell down on the ground and Luke punched him again and again.

"Don't Luke! Don't be like him. The kids are upstairs, think about them. They look up to you. Don't set a horrible example for them!" I said while trying to make him leave Kyle. This seemed to have knocked some sense into him and he left him.

"This isn't over Dawson! This isn't over. What you are claiming as yours, will never be. It belongs to me and only me. I am going right now cause I don't want my son's to witness all this. But I'll be back! Remember I'll take away everything that belongs to me!" Kyle said while wiping his busted lip and went out of the house.

The moment he was out I turned to Luke.

"Are you insane? What were you thinking? I am so disappointed in you, Luke! Look at yourself you have a bleeding nose. You never act on impulse! Now wait here till I get you an ice pack." I said and he only nodded like Noah and Ryder do and sat on the couch.

I returned with some paper towels and wiped his bloody nose, handing him the ice pack and sat beside him.

"I am sorry, Paisley. I shouldn't have done that. I was drunk on rage but none of this will explain my actions." He said apologetically and look at me.

"It's fine! Even I am sorry for being rude to you earlier. Don't look down, tilt your head upwards." I said to him.

"Nah! It's cool. I shouldn't have brought the boys in between. It was wrong on my behalf to do that. I am sorry. But I am proud of you for putting your foot down that very second." He said with his head still titled upwards and I just smiled.

A couple of minutes passed in silence and I decided to break the ice.

"Luke?" I said catching his attention.

"Yeah?" He replied now looking at me as the bleeding had stopped.

"Um.... uh what was it Kyle and you were talking about? I mean what is he trying to take away from you? Is it your firm or your dad's company?" I asked, worry evident in my words.

"He wants something that is means much more than the firm or the company to me." Luke answered, his words confusing me a great deal.

"What is it?" I enquired.

"He wants something that is very precious to me. Something he had taken away from me earlier. But don't worry, now I know what I have to do. I'll not repeat the same mistake again." He said looking at me with a smile and a determined expression in his eyes.

"Do you feel better? Do you want a painkiller?" I asked.

"Nope! I am fine I don't need a painkiller." Luke replied.

"Okay then. I am going upstairs to Noah and Ryder." I announced.

"Hm. I'll just go take a shower." He said and we both left the living room.

I reached their room and knocked peeping my head in.

I saw my boys playing quietly with the toys Kyle got them.

"Hello Babies!" I said sitting down on the carpet with them.

"Hey mommy!" "Hi mom!" They both said looking at me smiling.

"We are sowrry mommy. Are you angwry with us?" Noah asked taking me by surprise.

"No baby! Why would you ask that?" I asked him frowning slightly.

"Because we did all the things you have told us we are not suppose to do." He said looking sad.

"No my love, mommy is not angry at you. You both did some mischeif today and it's fine. But you can't do this always." I said.

"We will never do it again mommy. We prowise. We love you mommy!" Ryder said hugging me from the side.

"I love you too, lovelies! But tell me something boys, why did you ask daddy to call me there with you people for staying?" I asked after they pulled away from me.

"We also want to go out like other kids do with their mom and dad, mommy. We never go out with daddy and you together." Ryder told me his eyes holding an unknown pain.

"You have never said that you wanted to go out like other kids do with their mom and dad to me till now. So, why now baby? Did daddy or anybody else say something to you both about it before?" I asked.

"No daddy did not say anything to us mommy. He only said that you both some grovn up stuff to talk about and it will happen after that." Noah said.

"Then who has baby? Please tell me." I coaxed them to tell me everything truthfully.

"Mommy that day Jack in the class was making fun of me and Nowah because we never go out with daddy and you like other kids do. He swaid that daddy never got any toys for us because we are bad boys. After that everybody with him in the class made fun of us." Ryder told me the whole thing and his eyes watered.

Oh God! My kids have been going through so much. My poor innocent children!

"Then why didn't you come and tell this to mommy or your teacher babies?" I asked him, disturbed about the fact my children had been bullied in school.

"We did mum. We told the teawcher and she scolded everybody for making fun of us." Ryder said.

"But why didn't you come and tell me that the kids made fun of you both, honey?" I asked.

"I wanted to tell you but Nowah said that you were already upset that Mrs.George had called you to schwool because of us and we should not tell you about it." Ryder explained further.

Mrs.George is one of their teacher who had called me because Noah and Ryder were being too mischevious in the class and causing trouble.

"Noah baby listen me carefully. If anybody, I mean anybody, makes fun of you and your brother, darling, you have to come and tell mommy about it at that very single time. You don't have to worry about mommy being upset or anything. Okay?" I explained to him gently.

He only nodded looking down.

"But mommy why can't all of us stay with daddy together like other kids do?" Noah asked looking up at me again.

"My love, please understand that daddy and I have some grown up stuff to talk about. Until it is done, what you want cannot happen." I explained to him patiently.

"But mommy we want to stay with you and daddy. Plewse mommy, plewse!" He pleaded.

"Noah darling, please don't do this. Mommy and daddy have alot of grown up stuff to sort out. When it is done, we will see what can done. Till then, please don't force both me and your daddy about it." I told him.

He just nodded with solemn look.

"Mommy can we go downstairs and meet daddy plewse? Ryder asked me.

"Daddy is not here honey. He has left." I told him making his lips quiver and eyes water.

"Daddy again left us! Why did he leave us mommy? Are we really bad boys?" He asked with tears rolling down his chubby cheeks.

"No, my love! You both are the best babies in this world. You are mommy life's. I am lucky to have such good babies like you. I love you boys more than anything else! Daddy also loves you both alot. He can never leave you both, it's just because he had some work baby he had to go. He loves you both a lot, so don't think he left you beacuse you both are bad boys, cause you are not. You both are the best children in this world!" I told hugging both of them.

After pulling away from me Noah asked "Mommy can we have cheeswe burger and fwies for dinner today?"

"Sure!" I said.

"I want lots of cheeswe fries!" Ryder demanded and I laughed.

"Of course! You both can go downstairs now if you want." I said and they got up and went down the stairs.

I was went after them to get the things ready for dinner.

I was half on the stairs when I saw Luke all dressed up.

"Where are you off to, Mr.Dawson?" I asked making him turn around.

"Oh hey! You remember James Murray from our batch right?" He asked facing me.

I nodded in response.

"Well he is here in New Jersey for sometime. I am just going to meet him." Said Luke.

"Ohk! Say my hello to him." I said and he nodded, turning around to leave.

"Luke wait!" I said making him turn around again.

"Yes?" He said.

"Will you be home for dinner?" I asked him.

"No. We'll just have a couple of drinks and dinner. Don't wait up I'll be late. I already took the keys with me." Luke told me.

"Okay. Bye!" I said to him.

"Bye!" He said and left.

After feeding dinner to the boys I put them to bed and went to my room.

Deciding on having a shower I went inside and had a long hot relaxing shower.

While having a shower my mind was going through the misery of my kids. They have missed on to so much in their life. They also deserve a family like other kids. I just want to take away their emptiness of not having a family. Something to fill up their emptiness had to be done.

After coming out of the shower I decided to call Kyle and ask him if he wanted to meet the boys tommorow. I picked up my phone and called him, he answered after a couple of rings.

"Hey baby!"He said enthusiastically

"Kyle.Do.Not.Call.Me.That!" I snapped

"I'll call you whatever endearments I want to. Nothing you say or do will stop me, love." He said.

"Whatever! I wanted to ask you if you are interested in meeting boys tomorrow? They were upset after you left." I told him.

"Of course! I'll surely meet them. Do you want me to pick them up tomorrow?" He asked.

"Yes. Pick them up by 8:30 tomorrow morning. I have to leave for work by that time." I said.

"Okay. Uh Paisley?" Kyle asked.

"Yes?" I said in a curt voice.

"I just wanted to apologise for what happened back at your house. I shouldn't have acted on impluse. It could be a very negative sight of the kids too see. I am sorry!" He said with a sigh in the end.

"You better be! You had no right to use force on Luke. Don't you ever do that to him again. And do not come to my place and dare to create a nuisance by shouting and using force. I have enough on my plate already. I don't have the time to deal with your temper issues also. One more thing, tomorrow you are taking my kids with you, so don't give them any false hope or feed them with lies. They are too small and innocent to be a part of you stupid games!" I said with anger evident in my voice.

"I will never do that to my own kids, Paisley! Whatever I told them was the truth. You and I along with kids will be together like a family is. Whether you like it or not! I love you Paisely! I'll do anything for the three of you." He said pathetically.

"Your false claims will not melt my heart, Kyle. Whatever you want will never happen!" I said.

"I love you Paisley I will...." Kyle was saying something, but I cut him off.

"Shut up! Stop with your lies! Loving you, trusting you, being with you was the biggest mistake of my life. I will never get back with you. You have already put me through hell and I won't allow you to do that again. Your sweet words won't work on me this time Kyle Redmond. Get that clear!" I shouted in the end.

"I know. I know I have done alot of terrible things to you. I even know that you are only saying these things to me because you are angry and hurt. You have the right to be! But you don't mean any of it, you know it yourself! I love you Paisley! You love me too and I will make you realize it. I will earn your trust and love, I will work hard for it. Your words of hatred don't affect me. I will walk through hell if it means I will get you back. I love you with all my being, my love! Get that straight!" He said.

I just disconnected the call being annoyed of listening to his nonsense.

I decided to sleep after an hour or two after going through some case files.

I slept cause I had to go to work tomorrow.

Hey Babies!

Above is a section of Noah and Ryder's room.

I am terrible at writing a fighting scene, you people must have guessed it by now. Well excuse me for it.

This chapter was of more than 4000 words but wattpad deleted more than half of it even after saving it. I was so pissed I had to cut it short while writing again.

Okay. So lately I have been receiving alot of hate messages from people for Luke.

Well I can't force anybody to like or hate a character cause its entirely your opinion but I'd like to make a few points clear☺:

A) Luke has loved Paisley for the more time than Kyle has.

B) He had let her go thinking she would be happy with Kyle keeping his feelings aside. But Kyle left her miserable.

C) He knows what all Paisley has went through her entire childhood. (That will be revealed in the story later)

D) He has seen her her wanting to take her life away. Almost dead!

E) He was there for her for the past 4 years as her confidant. He grew more close to her than Mel was. She has opened upto him about all her fears and feelings.

F) He was there for her went she used to break down for the first year Noah and Ryder were born due to the fact that they could never receive a fathers affection and care.

G) He has kept her and her kids away from all the negatives till date.

H) This time again when he wanted to confess his true feelings to her Kyle appeared out of nowhere.

I) He feels that Kyle will again leave her shattered. He just wants to save the woman he loves from being hurt again. That's why he meddles in between and is protective and possessive over her.
