CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Paisley Redmond P.O.V

It took hell lot of courage for me not to breakdown infornt of Kyle while listening to his explanation.

This man still has the nerve to justify his actions after all he did to me. Shameless man!

I truly regret getting married to him. Our relationship was always hollow, there was nothing between us ever. Forever one-sided! The only good thing out of that meaningless relationship, are my life's Noah and Ryder. If it wasn't for them, I would have been six feet under the ground already. But I want to live! I want to live for my boys, I have to be strong for them. I cannot melt with Kyle's sweet words!

I continued going upstairs to the twin's room.

I reached their room and opened the door. I went inside and saw them sleeping peacefully, walking towards them, I bend down beside their bed and caressed their chubby cheeks.

"No matter what my little one's, mommy will always do what is the best for you both. You both come before anything or anyone else in this world for me. I love you so much babies!" I whispered and kissed their foreheads wiping away a stray tear that rolled down my cheek.

Quickly blinking back the tears I woke up my boys.

"Good morning lovelies!" I said still bending down.

Noah just turned away while Ryder started to move a bit.

"Get up babies." I cooed.

"No mommy. Plewse!" Noah pouted with his eyes closed.

"Get up, love, somebody has come to meet you." I tried again.

"Five more mommy. Plewse." Ryder whined.

"Mommy has a surprise for you both. Wake up quickly sweethearts." I said.

The moment I said surprise they were up faster than lightening.

"What supwise mommy?" "Where is the supwise mommy?" They both asked together with enthusiasm, their eyes shining with excitement.

"First you both will take a shower and get dressesd, after that mommy will tell you what it is. Now go fast!" I said smiling at them tenderly.

They immediately complied and went to the washroom. I walked towards their cupboard and took out the clothes I had ironed last night. I just love dressing them alike!

I went behind them into the washroom to give them a shower.

It was an exercise of almost one hour but we were done.

"Now can we know about the surpwise mommy?" Ryder asked after I dressed him and Noah.

"Yes, plewse mommy! Tell us!" Noah said excitedly jumping.

"Of course! Go downstairs and see who is there to meet you." I said and they immediately took off as I followed their trail.

"Daddyy!!!" They yelled together and lunched at Kyle.

"Good morning kids!" He replied picking them up.

"Are we going out with you daddy?" Ryder asked.

"Will we play there, daddy?" Noah asked after Ryder.

"Um... yes." Kyle replied unsure looking at me.

"You all can leave after breakfast." I said reaching the end of the stairs.

"Okay." The three of them said together and I let out a small laugh.

Entering the kitchen I asked Noah and Ryder what they wanted to have.

Setting their plates according to their wish, I served it to them respectively

"You don't want anything?" I asked Kyle who was sitting silently.

"No." He replied giving me a small simle.

"Your choice." I said and sat down to eat.

After five minutes of eating I felt bad that Kyle wasn't eating while we all were. No matter if he had been a jerk to me, but right now he was at my house and my mother has taught me better than let anybody starve.

I made him a plate and pushed it towards him and he gave me a question look.

"Have it." I said in a monotone voice.

"I don't want it." He said.

"Look, I know why you don't want to eat, but I have been taught better than to let anybody starve. Especially somebody visiting my house." I told him.

He just kept quiet and picked up the fork and knife.

"Do you want coffee or juice?" I asked.

"Anything would be fine. I don't mind either of them." Kyle replied.

I poured him a glass of juice and passed it to him.

All this time Ryder and Noah were eating silently.

After we all were done eating the boys were ready to leave with Kyle.

"Let's go! Come on mommy." Ryder said pulling my hand.

"Where darling?" I asked with a frown.

"With daddy mommy. Let's go. We will play with toys." He said cheerfully.

"Yes! Come mommy, you are taking sooo much time." Noah said this time.

"Well mommy cannot come with you. She has to go to work, you both go with dad." I said trying to make Ryder leave my hand.

"No! You always go to work. Come with us." Noah said.

"Look, Noah, I cannot accompany you guys. Some other time, please. For now you people go." I said.

"Daddy please ask mommy to come with us." Ryder asked Kyle looking hopeful.

"Mommy cannot come even if daddy asks her, Ryder. Go with daddy I'll come some other time." I told him sternly looking at all three of them.

"But mommy..." Ryder started but was cut off by Kyle.

"It's okay buddy. Let's go now, mommy will come with us some other time." He said.

"Okay" They both said and walked out with Kyle saying their goodbyes.

The moment they left I went upto my room and got dressed for work.

Luke Dawson P.O.V

It been four days and I still haven't been able to convince my client's to comeback to my firm.

They aren't even ready to tell me anything about the firm they have left mine for.

I have not been able to talk to Paisley also, she had called me yesterday but I missed her call. Deciding to talk to her I pulled out my phone from my pant pocket.

"Heya!" Paisley replied from the other side of the line.

"Hey. How are you?" I said.

"I am doing good. How are you? Any positive news about the firm?" She asked with concern.

"I am fine. I don't know honestly, it's been four days and my client's aren't ready to comeback to us, neither are they telling me the firm's name they left mine for. It dosen't seem natural to me, I have a strong feeling somebody has done it on purpose." I expressed my feeling towards the whole scenario.

"Ya! Me and Mel had talked a last night, even we think it's done on purpose. Do you think Kyle would have have it? I mean he is your competition after all." Paisley said.

"I don't think Redmond would do that. We are competitors, but our clients have always been different. We have never fought after clients, we have been against each other if we had clients that were opposite to one another. My clients won't even make a difference to him!" I told her while running a hand through my hair and I could feel another headache coming.

"But I think you should check once, he is not a man to be trusted. It's better to be safe than sorry." She advised.

"I will. Now you tell me how's everything there? Has he made any ass move?" I asked concerned about her and the twin's.

"Um.. no! Actually I want to tell you something." Paisley said.

"Sure, go ahead!" I encouraged.

"You know I had to come to London for the divorce, right? Well as you know, Kyle had given me three weeks to go back with him to London, out of which two have passed. Recently, Mr.Brown had offered me a transfer to London for a couple of months. We have a firm investing in our's and they desperately need lawyer's, so me along with eight more lawyers are suppose to come there. Residence, travel, basic necessities would be taken care of by them. I have said yes to that offer because I had to come there for divorce as it is, plus if I am there I can make sure till that time Noah and Ryder would be staying with Kyle. This way I can make sure they can adjust well there and help them whenever needed. What do you think?" Paisley asked.

"That's possible! Many firms are calling lawyer's from outside here to fight for them because of the recent conditions in here. It would be perfect if you would be here while Noah and Ryder are here with him. What is the name of this firm you would transfer for and you didn't sign any contract yet, right?" I asked hoping to have a background check of the firm before Paisley came.

"Well, I don't know the name of the firm. They say we can't know anything about it till we sign the contract. And yes, I haven't signed any contract yet." Paisley said I frowned.

"That's strange! Why don't they want you all to know anything about them until you people sign the contract!? They could be cons for pete's sake! Don't sign anything until you are completely aware about them, Paisley!" I told her.

"I thought the same but Mr.Brown assured us all. In fact we will sign the contract by the end of this week." Paisley said and my frown deepened.

"Don't do that! Even though Mr.Brown is trustworthy, you don't know about it. It could be dangerous!" I said.

"But I have to come there anyways,  why not grab this chance? It will be worth it." Paisley said and I sighed.

"See, I can't force you, but you have to be cautious. I want you to be absolutely sure and safe." I told her honestly.

"I will see to this." Paisley said.

"So, Ryder and Noah are turning four in another six days. What's your plan?" I asked changing the topic.

"I haven't really thought about it to be very honest with you. With everything happening because of Kyle being here, things are messed up." Paisley said and I could sense the regret in the tone.

"Well, you can't just let the little boys not celebrate their birthday because of their jackass of a father. Do something, they are kids they deserve some fun." I told her.

"I will, but I haven't been able to plan anything yet." Paisley said.

"Does he even know it's their birthday in another six days?" I asked her.

"No! I didn't tell him." She answered.

"I want to come there like last time. I can squeeze out a day, I am sure." I said.

"You will not come here. You, Mr.Dawson will stay there and won't be here until everything is sorted there with the firm." Paisley ordered.

"But I can...." I was saying something but Paisley cut me off.

"Never! It's not next street you are taking about, it's a whole different country. You better stay there and work. We will see about it next year." Paisley instructed.

"Ya-ya whatever!" I said with a chuckle.

"Don't whatever with me, Luke. I mean it!" She said.

"Okay. We'll see about it. Now I'm going to have to hang up." I told her.

"Sure! Take care." She said.

"Bye!" I replied and end the call.

After my call with Paisley I was a bit unsure about the firm she has to transfer here for. Though, her whole idea of coming here is sensible, but the firm seems fishy to me.

There is actually nothing I can really do about it, she has to be safe and I can make sure of that atleast. I hope her coming her ends well and she will be wise enough to find everything about the firm before finalising a contract.

With this thought I head straight away to work with Paisley's transfer issue on my mind.

Kyle Redmond P.O.V

"Daddy can we have some more chocolate?" Noah asked me while they played with action figures.

"Yes dad, plewse!" Ryder added.

"You both have already had four since this morning. If mommy gets to know about it, she'll have daddy's head for it." I told them.

"Oh no she won't daddy. She does not eat anybodys head." Ryder said giggling and Noah joined him.

"Listen buddy that just a way to say things." I told him amused by this wild idea.

"Okay. But plewse, daddy just one more chocolate, plewse!" Noah said pouting.

"Fine! One more that's all, not even a chunk more than that." I told them firmly.

"Prowise!" They both yelled excited.

After the end of our game, I decided take them home cause it was already 6:15.

On our way back home Ryder and Noah kept talking non stop. They made me laugh alot, constantly trying to be the one to get most of my attention.

"Boys?" I said looking them through the mirror.

"Yes daddy." "Yes dad." They replied together.

"Well, what do think about daddy coming and staying really close to you both and mommy?" I asked them nerverously.

"Good-good" Ryder said clapping.

"Yipeeeee!!" Noah said throwing his little fist in the air.

"Well, I take it as you both like it. But there is one thing you have to do for daddy. Can you do that?" I asked.

"Yes." They said together.

"I will tell mommy today about it and you both will go right upstairs when mommy and I are talking. Deal?" I asked and they nodded excitedly.

I reached Paisely's place at 6:40 determined to tell her about me shifting near her.
