The two of them reached the academic building and spotted a familiar face standing in front of the notice board on the roadside.
Ling Zhizhou?
However, it seemed like there was another man next to him.
About twenty-five to twenty-six years old, he sported a flat haircut and wore a meticulously tailored black suit and matching overcoat. His figure was slender, and he was slightly gaunt, with a half-burned cigarette in his hand.
He didnât look like a student from the school.
Mo Weiyi also took note of the stranger, âWho is that guy?â
Su Wanwan furrowed her brow.
After a while, Ling Zhizhou seemed to realize something. He glanced over in their direction and promptly engaged in a conversation with the man.
The man also glanced over at the two girls.
His gaze was direct, his eyes narrow and slightly excess in the white of his eyes. His look was inexplicably somber and added to his thin frame and dark clothing, he exuded an aura of melancholy and wicked coldness.
After a brief scan, his gaze fell on Mo Weiyi.
âIs this Mo Weiyi?â His voice was deep and chilling.
Ling Zhizhou immediately responded, âWhat I do is none of your business.â
âHeh heh heh.â The manâs throat rumbled with a low, eerie chuckle, âWhat do you plan to do?â
âAs I said, itâs none of your concern. Youâre not allowed to interfere,â warned Ling Zhizhou.
As Su Wanwan and Mo Weiyi approached, he lowered his voice and swiftly said, âYou can go now, donât ever come to the school looking for me again.â
The man crushed out his cigarette butt, his gaze still lingering on Mo Weiyiâs pretty face, âShe is quite beautiful.â
Ling Zhizhouâs brow knitted, âI told you to leave now. If she finds you here, all my plans will be ruined. Did you hear me?â
âLing Zhizhou?â Mo Weiyiâs voice drifted closer.
âGo! Now!â Ling Zhizhou was bordering on desperation, on the verge of pushing him away.
Finally, the man smirked wickedly, tossed his cigarette, and left.
Ling Zhizhou breathed a sigh of relief, turned around, and greeted them with his usual innocent, sunny smile, âSeniors, are you heading to the reading room?â
Su Wanwan asked him, âWho was he?â
âOh, heâs my cousin.â Ling Zhizhou responded with an unwavering smile.
âYou have a cousin?â Mo Weiyi couldnât help but glance again at the retreating figure of the man.
He didnât resemble Ling Zhizhou much, and that manâs eyes were too ominous. He didnât seem like good news at all.
However, judging by his outfit, it must have been quite expensive.
Wasnât Ling Zhizhouâs family struggling?
How does he have such a wealthy cousin?
Ling Zhizhou explained, âHe runs a business abroad. He just got back and heard that Iâm studying here so he came to give me some pocket money.â
âI see.â Mo Weiyi nodded.
She didnât think any more of it, and the three of them chatted as they walked into the academic building.
**
They didnât have classes in the afternoon, so they spent several hours in the reading room until dusk fell. Su Wanwan checked the time, âIâm starving, letâs go eat.â
âOkay.â Mo Weiyi stood up.
Since Chen Jin was coming in the evening to continue teaching, she packed up her books in her bag, planning to go back to the dorm first.
But as soon as she stepped out of the elevator, Su Wanwan exclaimed, âDidnât you lock the door when you left?â
âI did.â Mo Weiyi hurried out of the elevator.
Her dorm room was at the end of the corridor, and the door was wide open, light pouring out from within.
It was weirdly eerie.
âDamn, we werenât robbed, were we?â Su Wanwan raced over hastily.
Her dorm was fine. Except for the designer clothes and bags that Mrs. Huo bought for her, there was nothing valuable.
But it was different for Mo Weiyi, her room was filled with expensive items, if it was a robbery, the loss would be great.
However, once they stepped through the door, they were startled, resulting in a scream from Su Wanwan, âAh!â
âWhat happened? What happened?â Mo Weiyi rushed in, only to be taken aback herself.
Sitting at the dormâs study desk was a cold, beautiful man.
He was dressed in a black shirt paired with a dark grey woolen pullover, crossed long legs, a cool demeanor, and his black leather shoes shining coldly in the light.
He was slightly bowed, a book in his long, fair fingers.
Just looking at his face, he was incredibly good-looking.
But⦠what was a grown man doing in a girlsâ dormitory, painted in pink tones, in the middle of the night?
Su Wanwan clutched her chest, feeling like she had just been startled into a cold sweat.
This couple was really getting on her nerves. She had only brought him home yesterday, and today he was already at the dormitory. What was with this cold war?
But how did he get in here?
âHow did you get in?â Mo Weiyi asked what Su Wanwan was thinking.
The man lifted his eyes, voice cold, âI walked in.â
âPft.â
If it were not for the odd atmosphere, Su Wanwan would have burst into laughter.
âWho allowed you in? This is my dormitory!â Mo Weiyi was somewhat irked.
Xiao Yebai directed his gaze at Su Wanwan, âMiss Su.â
Just three words, warmly suggestive of his hope that she would leave.
Su Wanwan was about to turn and go, but Mo Weiyi grabbed her arm, âWanwan, donât you leave! You, go!â
Su Wanwan was flabbergasted.
She was really hungry and wanted to go eat.
Xiao Yebai rose to his feet.
Suddenly, Su Wanwan felt the dorm room so small. She and Mo Weiyi usually felt it pretty spacious when it was just the two of them.
Especially when the man strode over with those long legs, and looked down at the two girls from above.
Mo Weiyiâs delicate white fingers clenched tightly around Su Wanwanâs arm. The two girls both had waist-length curly hair, bright and clear eyes, and similar heightsâ¦
Despite that, they were still almost twenty centimeters shorter than him.
