Chapter 26

We joined the party thirty minutes after it began, if Kade had it his way we would still be upstairs.  Everyone was enjoying dinner when Nora came over to our table.  She looked at me nervously shifting on her feet.

"What's wrong Nora?"  I questioned.

"I hate to bother you but I don't really have much choice there's a woman outside who refuses to leave.  She wasn't invited and we have tried everything to explain to her that it's a private party but she won't listen.  She wants to see Kade."  Kade's breath quickened beside of me and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Anything you need to tell me?"  I asked him and he shrugged.

"Not really who is it, Nora?"  He reached over placing his hand on my knee like he was trying to hold me in place.

"Umm well..." Nora looked like she was scared for her life.

"Just spit it out already!" I groaned.

"It's Jules."  She mumbled taking a few steps back from the table.  My heart began to race with adrenaline.  Why is this bitch showing up to my engagement party asking for my fiancé?  Kade patted my knee to calm me down as if that would help.

"What does she want Kade?"  I growled at him.

"I don't know but I'll go talk to her."

"Like hell, you will!  This is our engagement party your not running off to talk to your ex-wife!"

"If I don't she won't leave.  Do you really want her to cause a scene for the media to get a hold of?"  No, I guess he was right they would have a field day with women showing up here to see Kade.  But I didn't like the idea of him leaving our party to talk to her alone.  Jealousy had taken over and she wasn't as nice as me.

"Fine but I'm coming with you."  He shook his head.

"That's an even worse idea, the last thing we need is you in a catfight in front of the media."

"It wouldn't be a catfight she wouldn't have a fighting chance.  Either I go with you or you don't go at all."

"Babe nothing will happen I swear I'll get her to leave..."

"You are Not Going Alone!" I growled at him and he huffed.

"Fine come on."  He stood up and held his hand out for me.  I took it quickly and he led me outside to the gate.  As we approached the gate a tall blonde came into view.  Just the sight of her made my skin crawl.  Her blonde hair fell around her shoulders in waves, she had bright green eyes and enough makeup on for two or three folks.  She was wearing a skin-tight red dress that showed way too much cleavage.  "Kade!" She huffed and stomped her foot.  "I've been waiting out here for almost an hour! Let me in!"

Kade laced his fingers in mine and held my hand tightly.  "What do you want Jules?"

She smiled sweetly at him. "I need to talk to you.  Alone!" She snapped looking over at me with disgust.

"We aren't going anywhere alone." Kade spat and she began to pout.

"It will only take a few minutes Kade please..."  Her tone softened.

"No just tell me what you want."  He ground out.

"I want you! I said I was sorry! I promise to behave this time.  Please baby.."  She stepped closer and my blood began to boil. I've heard enough of this.

"You might want to watch what you say next." I spat at her.  She eyed me up and down, laughing.

"And why is that?"

"Because you are about two seconds away from getting your slutty ass kicked," I growled at her moving toward her when Kade pulled my arm back.

"Addison stop!" Kade looked at me sternly.

"And if I don't?"  I challenged him.

"Please babe... She's not worth all the trouble she can cause."  His eyes plead with me.

"What's the worse she can do Kade!? Tell everyone she was your wife?! Or that you have an anger problem!? Who cares!! I'm not going to live my life being scared of what comes out of this bitch's mouth!" I snapped.  I've had enough of her messing with my life and my future husband.  I was going to put an end to this.  I turned and glared at her.  "If you so much as speak his name I'll beat the shit out of you!! Do you understand?  You stay the hell away from us, you crazy bitch!!" I screamed.

"I could tell the world all of his dirty little secrets and there isn't a thing you could do about it." She grinned at me and it was all I could do not to attack her right then.

"No one would believe a slut like you anyway! You can tell them whatever you want but you can bet your ass that tomorrow morning I'll be telling the whole world how you lied about being pregnant and only wanted Kade for his money!! How does that sound to you?  Try finding a husband then you gold-digging whore!!" I screamed.  I know I probably sounded insane but I didn't care.  I wouldn't allow her to hurt Kade anymore he was mine and I'd do anything to protect him from her.  She stared at me dumbfounded.

"Addi... Babe, please let me deal with this..." Kade tugged on my hand to get my attention.

"No! I'm not letting her blackmail you anymore Kade! This is ridiculous! I can ruin her reputation quicker than she can blink if I want to!"

"Addison calm down ok?"  He pulled me against him and kissed my forehead.  I looked up at him and he smiled at me.  Him and that damn smile of his! He knew how to get to me!  I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down.

"I'm not letting her anywhere near you..."

"You have nothing to worry about I don't want her near me.  You need to calm down can you do that for me?"  He whispered.  I nodded slowly taking deep breaths.  She smirked at me.  I'm giving her what she wants, she wants me to get upset and look crazy.  She thinks Kade has anger issues, she doesn't have a clue about the hell I could unleash on her.  Just seeing her smirk was enough to make me want to rearrange her face.  Kade was still staring down at me and I didn't want to be the cause of a media storm.  I finally reigned in my anger and calmed down.  When he was sure I was calm he spoke.

"You need to leave Jules you're not welcomed here."  He told her sternly.

"Kade I miss you..." She began to pout again but he cut her off.

"Enough! I want nothing to do with you! Do you understand? You can't show up here or call me! If you don't stop this bullshit I'll make you stop." He growled dangerously at her,  he sounded incredibly sexy at that moment I wanted desperately to take him back upstairs and have my way with him.

"What are you going to do?  I can ruin you! I own you!"  She screamed.

His hand began to shake in mine and his breaths were labored.  He was trying to keep his anger in check but his efforts were failing.  I felt so bad for him.  If she was a man I'm sure he would have kicked her ass by now.  But Kade wouldn't hit a woman.  "Baby.." I whispered and he looked down at me.  "Just because you can't hit her doesn't mean I can't,"  I smirked at him and he laughs at me.

"No babe, I don't want you to behave like I do.  She's not worth it."  He held my hand tightly to hold me in place.  He turned his attention back to Jules. "You don't own me Jules you never did! Addison owns every piece of me.  You can tell the media whatever you want.  I don't give a damn what people think of me.  But you should be careful because I'll ruin you and the money that you conned me out of will be gone too! You'll have to go back to waiting tables.  So go ahead and try it." He ground out.

"Kade, please... I'm sorry..."  She whines.

"Leave!! And don't come back! Or you'll wish you hadn't!!" He growls.

She stands there for a few seconds with a shocked expression before she turns around in a huff and leaves.  Kade let out a breath and turned to me.

"You should of just let me kick her ass."  I tease.  Although I wasn't really joking I would love to give her what she deserves.

"This isn't your fight babe.  She just wants to cause problems between us."  He sighs.  "We should get back before people wonder where we are."  I nodded and he led me back into the house.  Dinner was coming to an end and some of the guests were on the dance floor.  Darby approached me as we entered the room.

"I've been looking everywhere for you!" She was pulling Matt behind her.

"We had a bit of a situation outside,"  Kade spoke quietly.

"A situation?"  She eyes me curiously.

"Jules was here."  My voice came out bitter.

"Why would she show up here!?"  She questioned.

"To cause problems..." Kade told her sourly.

"Did you kick her ass?"  Darby smirks at me.

"No! Someone wouldn't let me.  She so desperately needed it too!"  I huffed and Kade chuckles.

"That would only make things worse.  Can we talk about something else now?"

"Ok your dad was about to give a toast but you two weren't around.  If anyone asks just say you were upstairs."  Darby smirks at us.  "Because that's what I told him when he asked if I'd seen you."

"I would love to be upstairs right now."  Kade mumbles and everyone laughs.

We rejoined our table and finished eating.  Afterward, a few people gave toasts and the dancing began.  Kade held me against him and spun us around the dance floor.  I smiled up at him thinking about how lucky I am.  He leans down putting his mouth over my ear.  "I love you, babe."  He whispered as he ran his hand down my back.  Chills spread through my body.

"I love you too,"  I whispered as he stood upright smiling at me.  I tried to keep my hormones under control but I failed miserably.  I took his face in my hands and kissed him tenderly as we continued to sway on the dance floor.  He moaned into my mouth and squeezed my ass.  I giggled as I pulled away.  "Kade people are watching us."

"I don't care.  Can we please go upstairs now?"

I laughed at him.  "No, the party will be over soon and then you can take me home."

"Home?  To your apartment?"  He raised an eyebrow at me.

"No, home to our penthouse."  I grinned.

"Mmmm I like the sound of that.  Have you started packing yet?  I can't wait to have you in my bed every night."  He winks at me.

"I've packed a few things but I still have a lot to do."

"I could hire you some help to pack it all up for you."

"I can do it myself you could help me you know."

"I'll do anything you want if it means you will move in faster.  I hate spending my nights away from you."

"I'm all yours tonight." I whispered and he kissed me hungrily.
