Chapter 6
Complicated Fairytale
An hour later we were in Vegas. The limo stopped in front of a huge hotel and casino, Kade got out and led me into the lobby. I felt my phone vibrate but I ignored it.
"Mr. Jacobs! So nice to see you, sir. I have everything ready for you!" An older man said to him and escorted us to the elevator.
"Thanks, Robert," Kade said to him nodding.
We rode the elevator to the top floor and got off. Robert led us to a door, as I looked around I noticed it was the only door on the whole floor. He unlocked the door and ushered us in.
"The penthouse is ready sir if there is anything you need please let me know." Robert says to Kade leaving and Kade just nods.
"Penthouse seriously? What do you own this place too?" I asked Kade laughing and he smirks. The place is huge! There's a living room, a kitchen, a dining area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs, a bar, a huge balcony with a pool, and a hot tub. Everything was done in black and white with pops of red. It was gorgeous.
"No I don't own it but I stay here a lot. Do you like it?" Kade asks and I smile.
"It's bigger than my whole apartment I love it!"
"Good I want you to enjoy yourself, whatever you want I'll make sure you get it."Â He states smiling at me.
"Right now I think I'd like to go swimming!" I squeal and he laughs.
"Whatever you want babe. Go change and I'll meet you out there."
I take my suitcase and go to one of the bedrooms. I change into my bikini and look at my phone. I have a missed call from Grant and a text.
Hey sweetie. Sorry I've been swamped at work. Maybe we can do dinner tomorrow night?
I rolled my eyes throw my phone down. Why even bother to answer his lying ass? I grab a towel from the bathroom and go out on the balcony. The sun is starting to set a little but it is still hot and humid. I dive into the pool and swim around enjoying myself. It's been a few years since I've even seen a pool let alone got in one. Kade comes out and sits in a chair watching me swim around.
"You are not getting in?" I ask as I swim past him. He is still dressed in jeans and his white shirt.
"Though I'd enjoyed the show." He grins at me. I laugh and roll my eyes at him.
"So what's the plan for tonight?" I ask him as I float in the pool.
"A friend of mine is a DJ and he invited me to come to see him spin tonight at club Rogue. Is that ok with you babe?" He asks.
"Sure." I smile at him.
"Ok I ordered us some dinner and after that, we can have a few drinks before we go." He states. "You can swim as long as you like we've got all night babe."Â I laugh at him.
"All night? I haven't partied all night since college."
"It's Vegas babe. The night doesn't start until eleven." He smirks.
"How often do you come to Vegas?" I asked him curiously. Did he party all night regularly?
"Once every couple of months usually sometimes more. It's my favorite place to unwind." He shrugs.
"I see and what does unwind mean? Get drunk and hook up with random girls?" I asked him bitterly. I couldn't see myself being with someone who partied all the time. It was fun sometimes but not every weekend.
"Why does the idea of me being with someone else make you jealous babe?"
I huff and roll my eyes. "No, it doesn't I'm just trying to figure you out."
"I already told you I'm not a saint. Yes, I do hook up but not every weekend and I don't get drunk very often. I can handle my alcohol. Unwind doesn't mean just drinking and sex Addison. I like to play blackjack when I'm here, and no one from the family bothers me here, I can relax."
"So you have to go to Vegas to relax? I find that hard to believe." I state as I get out of the pool.
He watches me climb out of the pool and his eyes rake over my body. He clears his throat and smirks. "My father is very demanding the only time I get a break is when I leave town. Plus with a restaurant, the apartments, and now the bar someone is always calling asking questions. I'm a busy man. Vegas is my quiet place Addi."
I wrap my towel around me and ring the water out of my hair. "I understand Kade sorry if I sounded like a bitch."
He gets up walking over to me. "You sounded jealous Addi. Don't worry I won't be hooking up with anyone but you." He smirks putting his hands on my waist and pulling me to him.
I look up at him grinning. "Your free to do whatever you want Kade, I'm not jealous."
"And you are a horrible liar babe. Plus the only thing I want to do is you." He whispers into my ear and then kisses down my neck.
A moan escapes my mouth before I can stop it. He smells so good and his lips touching my skin send chills through my body. "Kade...." I mumble but he ignores me sucking on my neck softly as his hands go around to my ass and squeeze it. I jump a little and he laughs before he covers my mouth with his. He kisses me until my knees feel like jello and I'm afraid I'll fall. He pulls away and smiles at me.
"You look incredible in that bikini babe I couldn't resist." His eyes are hooded and his shirt is wet from being against me. I can see the outline of his abs. He looks so sexy I have to stop myself from taking him to bed. I just stand there afraid to move because I don't trust myself. He smirks at me. "You ok babe?" I nod slowly looking him up and down. Ugh! Why did he have to look so good? I want him so badly but I'm not ready to jump into bed with anyone after what Grant did. I've only slept with two guys and I trusted them both with my heart and thought I'd loved them. But now I wasn't so sure.
"Addison?" He breaths putting his hand on my cheek. I look up at him.
"Yes?" I answer him quietly.
"I can tell you are scared. I'm not going to hurt you, baby. I'm not like Grant. Do you understand?" He looks into my eyes and I nod. I want to trust him I really do but a part of me wonders if I should.
"Dinner will be here soon why don't you go take a shower and get ready ok?" He smiles.
"Ok." He lets go of me and I head inside. Once I'm in the shower I continue to argue with myself. Can I really trust him? I didn't know for sure but I had to try. I couldn't let Grant ruin the way I thought about all guys, could I? I thought I loved Grant now I wasn't so sure that I was ever in love with him. Everything with Kade was so passionate and I've never felt that with anyone. I gave myself a headache going around in circles. I got out of the shower and my phone was buzzing. Grant was calling again I ignored it. I didn't know what to say to him. How should I handle this? I dried my hair and got my suitcase out to find a dress. My phone went off again. A text from Darby.
Your jackass of a boyfriend just showed up here. He can't get you on the phone and said he was worried. I told him to go to hell and shut the door. Lol sorry couldn't stop myself And how are things with Kade?(;
I'm surprised she didn't say more than that to Grant. Guess I do need to break up with him the sooner the better. I texted Darby back.
Things with Kade are confusing. Hard to explain. I'll tell you everything when I get home. I'm gonna break up with Grant soon just behave if he comes back ok?
A few seconds later Darby replied.
I'll try but I can't make any promises he deserves whatever he gets. Have fun with Kade! Don't overthink it! Love you!
She knows me too well. I dig thru my bag and pull out a simple black strapless dress. I get dressed and while I'm putting on my makeup my phone goes off again. It's Grant calling. Ugh!
"Hello?" I answer it. I'm ready to get this over with.
"Addison! Is everything ok? I've been calling and I went to your apartment but Darby just shut the door in my face!" Grant states trying to sound like he actually cares.
"I'm fine but you won't be seeing me anymore. We are done. I don't want you calling me or going to the apartment have fun with your brunette Grant." I yell into the phone.
"What are you talking about sweetie? There's no one I want but you please Addison listen to me.." He continues but I cut him off.
"You can save all that bullshit for someone else Grant I saw you with her. I was at your house today. No need for mind games. I'm done don't call this number anymore Grant. I don't want you!" I yell and as I'm hanging up I can hear him talking but I'm not listening anymore. The bedroom door opens and Kade is leaning against the door frame.
"I could hear you outside. You ok?" He asks.
I shrug. "I'm fine. Didn't feel like putting it off any longer."
He nods. "You deserve better babe. Don't waste any more time on him." He smiles. "You look beautiful by the way."
I give him a small smile. "Thanks."
I noticed he has showered too. His hair is still wet and he is wearing black dress slacks and a light blue button-down with the sleeves rolled up. His blue shirt brings out the blue in his eyes even more than usual, he looks so hot. "You look nice," I tell him. He smirks.
"Dinner is here are you ready to eat babe?"
"Yeah, I could eat," I tell him walking to the doorway. He takes my hand and leads me to the dining room. The table is full of food. He pulls out my chair and I sit down.
"Hope you like Chinese food. The chef here makes the best orange chicken. I always eat it when I'm here." Kade says filling up his plate.
"I love Chinese actually. Thank you." I smile at him and fix my plate. We eat for a few minutes in silence. "This is the best orange chicken I've ever had Kade!" He laughs.
"I'm glad you like it, babe. I know you've had a rough day we don't have to go to the club if you'd rather do something else." He says eating an egg roll.
"No it's fine I'm up for a night out. I'll get to see you in action. I'm having a hard time picturing you on a dance floor." I tell him laughing. He doesn't seem like the dancing type.
He grins at me. "I'm actually a very good dancer babe. I've never had any complaints about my moves." He winks and I blush. Thinking about him dancing against me, turns me on. If he could move as good as he kissed I was in trouble.
We finished eating and I went to finish getting ready. I looked at my phone and Grant had called back twice. I put it in my purse and went into the living room. Kade was pouring a shot at the bar.
"Do you want one?" He asks me as he downs his.
"Sure why not?" I shrug. He pours a shot of whiskey and slides it to me. I took it and thought I was going to die. My throat felt like it was on fire. I cough. "How do to stand that? You could of at least warned me first!" I complain. He shrugs.
"Sorry, babe guess I'm used to it. What would you like? I can make anything you want."
"A martini sounds good," I reply sitting on the barstool, watching him. "I should warn you I'm a lightweight."
He laughs. "I know I had to carry you remember?"
"Oh yeah. I forgot about that." I say as my face burns red.
"It's ok babe I'll take care of you." He smiles and hands me the martini. I kinda liked the idea of him taking care of me. I wasn't sure that I should feel this safe with him but I did I couldn't help it. My purse started vibrating and I pulled my phone out. Grant was calling again. I groaned and threw the phone back in my purse.
"Let me guess Grant?" Kade asks.
"Yeah, I don't know why he is even bothering to call. He obviously never cared about me so why call?" I state sipping my martini.
"Because he wants to win you back. Any man would be stupid to let you go, babe. I can make him stop if you want." He gives me a serious look.
"No, it's ok he'll get the point eventually when I don't answer." I finish the martini. I don't want to think about this anymore I just want to have fun.
"So when do we leave?"
