Chapter 9

After our whirlwind trip to Vegas, it was time to go home and face reality. We boarded the jet and were preparing to take off. Kade was on his laptop working on bills for the bar as I sat across from him looking thru flower arrangements on my iPad for Emma's wedding. I looked up at him watching him eye his laptop. He looked so serious something I hadn't seen this weekend. He has been so relaxed and happy these last few days. I wondered how things would be with us now. I wasn't exactly sure how a real relationship would be with us both working all the time. Kade looked up from his laptop catching me staring at him.

"Everything ok babe?" What the hell was he a mind reader?

"Yeah, everything is fine," I said quietly not sure if I wanted to mention the fact that I was worried about him. We have had so much fun this weekend that I didn't want to ruin it now by worrying about the future.

"Addison your lying what is it?" He huffed putting his laptop down and getting up to sit beside me. The lights flashed telling us we were about to take off. I put on my seat belt and Kade buckled himself turning to me. "Be honest with me Addi what's bothering you? I can tell your thinking about something what is it?"

"It's us, Kade. How is this supposed to work? We both work all the time we don't even really know each other that well. I'm just wondering how things are going to be now?" I wanted to be with him I was just unsure what being with him meant.

"Don't worry baby we will make it work. I'll always have time for you Addi. We'll date and talk every day. You can spend weekends with me and when I have to go out of town you can come."

"It's not that simple Kade I run my company I can't take off with you every weekend. It was irresponsible for me to do that this weekend, luckily Nora took care of everything but I can't do that to her all the time it's my responsibility to be at these events."

"You don't have to be at all of them, babe. But I do understand. Maybe you should hire another event coordinator to help with the smaller events babe that way you can just focus on the big events."

"I have another coordinator but I still oversee everything I give her to do. Maybe I could let Nicole take over more responsibility. She is very good at what she does, I'll talk with her and see if she could take over more on the weekends. But it's still going to be hard Kade, with Emma's wedding plans in full swing I'm going to be very busy. This wedding is very important it could mean a lot of new clients for me."

"Then I'll move my schedule around and make time for you. We will make it work baby I want to be with you. If I have to I'll pack your stuff and move you in my condo to be close to you." He grins at me as the lights flash again and I realize we are in the air. I unbuckle and climb into his lap.

"I want to be with you too. Everything has happened so fast that my head is spinning a bit and my cautious side is worried that we aren't thinking this through." I tell him honestly wrapping my arms around his neck.

"There's nothing to think about babe this is what we want so we will make it a priority to be together." He kissed my forehead and settled his arms around my waist. I nodded and laid my head on his shoulder snuggling close to him. Over the last few days, I have found that being in his arms is my favorite place to be. He was like a magnet pulling me to him and once I was in his arms nothing else mattered but him. He ran his finger lightly across my back in circles. I closed my eyes relaxing into him.

The next thing I knew Kade was gently carrying me to the limo. I lifted my head looking at him yawning.

"What's going on?" I asked.

He laughed softly. "You fell asleep babe we are at the airport. I must have kept you from getting your sleep this weekend baby."

I laughed. "You did but I'm not complaining it was well worth it." James opened the limo door and Kade sat me down inside it, sliding in after me. "I hate I missed the plane ride now I have even less time with you," I whined and he smirked at me.

"I have a few things to take care of at the bar this afternoon but I can pick you up for dinner tonight if you like." He kissed me lightly pulling away waiting for my response.

"That's sounds great Kade." I kiss him again wanting to enjoy our last few minutes together. He moans pulling me against him as he runs his hands under my shirt caressing me. He lays me back on the seat climbing over me smiling. "What do you think you are doing?" I asked grinning up at him.

He smirked at me as he undid his belt and whispered to me. "You."

It was by far the most exciting limo ride I'd ever been on. By the time we reached my apartment I was gasping to catch my breath, my hair was all over the place, my clothes were discarded on the limo floor and wrinkled.

Kade smiled at me as he helped me get dressed. "So dinner tonight? I'll pick you up at 7?" He asks as he placed my shirt over my head.

I laughed. "I can dress." Putting on my shirt then I kissed him running my hands over his chest. "Seven sounds good baby."

He smirks at me as he pulls away and puts on his pants. "You have no idea how sexy you look, babe, if I had time I'd have James drive around the block again."

"It's ok I can wait until later." I wink at him putting on my shoes. James unloads my luggage as we finish getting dressed. I sure hope he doesn't know what just happened back here. "Do you think he knows?" I ask Kade.

"Who James? Probably but don't worry babe he won't say anything." Kade opens the door and slides out taking my hand helping me out.

James simply nods leaving my luggage and goes back to the driver's side. Kade laughs wrapping me into a hug. "Baby it's ok, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. I'll be back at seven, try not to miss me too much ok?"

I nod hugging him back. "See you soon." I kiss him and gather my luggage.

"Bye baby." He calls sliding back into the limo.

I enter the apartment dragging my suitcase and shopping bags with me. Darby was in the kitchen when I came in.

"Addi!! Your back!!" She grins at me as I put my stuff down. She is carrying a coffee cup and still in her pajamas. "Did you have fun with Kade? I want to know everything! From the looks of it, you had a bit of fun earlier you could at least fix your hair and try to hide it Addi!"

I blushed a deep red. "I would have if I'd had time but we got a little carried away on the way here," I confessed.

"You mean you fucked him in the limo Addison!?" I smirked and she squealed. "Oh my god, you did!"

I nodded. "Couldn't resist," I said shrugging and her eyes widen.

"Ok, I need to know everything now!! You are not my best friend right now what the hell did he do to you? Not that I disapprove I've never seen you glow like this Addi! You look so happy."

"I am happy Dar. Kade is amazing." I smiled and I told her all about our weekend in Vegas.

When I finished she smiled at me. "Ok enough about Kade let me see these clothes!! Oh and the shoes and Chanel!!"

I laughed picking up my shopping bags and pulling out the purse along with shoe boxes and clothes.

"Holy shit Addi! Do you know how many girls would kill to have Kade take them out? Let alone buy them a new wardrobe and give them the best sex of their lives."

"I didn't say it was the best sex, Dar."

"You didn't have to it's written all over your face! Don't bullshit me, Addison! I can tell your already head over heels for him. Just be careful ok? I'm sure he has plenty of women at his disposal and I don't want you to get hurt again."

"I didn't mean for all of this to happen but I'm not complaining either. I've never felt anything like this before Dar! I can't help myself when I'm with him I become someone else I don't think I just act. It's kind of scary but exciting at the same time. Kade has assured me that he wants only me and we will make it work. I know you are concerned but I want this Dar. I want him more than I've ever wanted anything in my life."

She sighed. "I can tell that's why I'm concerned. It's going really fast but if your happy I'm happy and if he hurts you I'll cut off his balls and set that damn bar on fire." She grinned wickedly at me and I laughed.

"Fair enough. Now help me figure out what to wear for dinner tonight."

It had been two weeks since our trip to Vegas.  Everything was going great with Kade and me.  We spent our days working and texting when we could.  We enjoyed the evenings together,  dinner dates, and sleepovers.  I haven't heard from Grant since Vegas,  I guess he got the point.  Darby met a new guy at a club one night last week and has been spending her nights with him ever since.  With Emma's wedding only a week away I was swamped in the details. Today was my last meeting with Emma to finalize everything before the big day.   I had Nicole and Nora both working around the clock to make sure everything got done in time.  We were all running on fumes at this point and we still had a week to go.  Emma was set to arrive for our meeting any minute.  I needed to have her look over the song list for the DJ and finalize the dinner menu. During the next few days work would begin at the Jacobs estate and I would be spending all my time there making sure every detail was perfect.

Nora knocked on my door and I assumed she was sending Emma in. Instead, I looked up and seen a very worried expression on Nora's face.

"Um, Addi you have a visitor." She took a shaky breath and Grant appeared behind her. He smiled at me and I could feel my blood pressure skyrocket. What the hell was he doing here? Nora mouthed the words "I'm sorry." as she walked away leaving him in my doorway. I had eventually told her what had happened when she asked why he stopped calling.

"Addison you look beautiful," Grant spoke nervously.

"Why are you here Grant? I don't have time for this." I stated fiercely rolling my eyes at him.

"I miss you Addi. Just give me a chance to explain."

"Explain what Grant? How you accidentally screwed someone else? I don't care to hear your excuses." I growled at him.

"Addi please it wasn't like that. I made a mistake I know that but let me fix it. It won't happen again sweetie I promise. Let me take you to dinner tonight we can go back to the way things were. We were so happy Addison I want that again." He pleaded.

"Seriously? Do you think I'll just magically forgot you cheated on me? I don't want you Grant and FYI we were never that happy, to begin with. Get out of here and don't come back!" I yelled at him.

"Addi please just give me a chance..." He began but stopped short.

"I think she told you to leave." I hear Kade's husky voice growl at Grant.

Grant turned slowly looking at Kade then turned back to me in confusion. "Addi what's going on why is he here?" Grant asks with a questioning look.

Before I could reply Kade strolled past him and into my office. He came around my desk placing his hands on my hips pulling me to him. "I came to see my girlfriend now if you'll excuse us we need some alone time," Kade growled dangerously.

Grant looked at me in shock. "Your girlfriend? Addison, what the hell is he talking about?"

I smiled sweetly and leaning into Kade. "Grant this is my boyfriend Kade Jacobs but I'm sure you know who he is. Don't look so surprised what did you think I would be sitting around waiting on you?" I laughed and Kade tightened his hold on me.

"Addison, please. You don't even know what he is like! What he and his family are capable of! You can do better than him come back to me Addi." Grant begged and I could hear Kade's breathe quickening.

"What we're capable of? You don't know the half of what I could do to Mr. Archer. I suggest you leave Addison alone she wants nothing to do with

you. " Kade glared at Grant.

"When he screws you over don't say I didn't warn you Addi." Grant breaths and walks away.

"Why was he here Addi?" Kade huffs letting go of his hold on me.

"I don't know to play some screwed-up mind game with me? He wants a second chance like there's a shot in hell of that ever happening." I laughed. "Don't worry about him Kade he is a dumbass."

Kade just simply nodded and kissed me. We were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Kade let go of me and smiled at his sister.

"Running late as usual?" He laughed.

"Doesn't seem like you mind waiting for me." She grinned at us and I laughed. "You two look great together by the way when my big brother said he was dating you I couldn't believe it! He hasn't actually dated anyone in years you know?"

"So I've heard. Guess I'm a lucky girl." I smile up at Kade and he kisses my forehead.

"A very lucky girl." He states winking at me.

"Awwww you are just perfect together! I'm so happy for you both!" Emma gushes.

"So tell me the bottom number so I can get back to the office babe I've got another meeting to get to," Kade says taking a seat next to his sister.

I hand him the final bill and his eyes widen. "Damn Em, dad said anything for his little girl but this is outrageous." She laughs.

"I thought your dad would be coming in today to take care of this? I was excited to finally meet him." I asked them both. I was curious to see what Mr. Tyler Jacobs was like.

"He got stuck in Paris on business but he'll be back tomorrow so I'm sure you'll meet him around the estate in the next few days," Kade says smiling. "I'm going to have to call and run this number by him though. I'll be back in a minute." Kade steps out of the office to call his dad.

"So tell me everything! I still can't believe Kade has a girlfriend this is so exciting! We are going to have so much fun together!" Emma squealed.
