Chapter 390 – Yamete

If it actually became a vibrator, then Xiong YaoYue would be the unlucky first user. It would happen right in the middle of class as everyone is watching her…

Xiong YaoYue was already reading ‘Song of the Stormy Petrel’ in an odd tone, but she suddenly felt the phone vibrate in her underwear.

It caused her raise her voice by eight pitches.

“The gulls are moaning in their terror–moaning, ↗↗↗↗darting o’er the waters, and would gladly hide their horror in the inky depths of ocean.”

Old man Zhang frowned, “That’s a comma, not an exclamation mark. It’s not the correct time to add an exclamation.”

Xiong YaoYue’s face turned crimson red, “But…” she wanted to explain, but couldn’t really say anything.

Thus she continued to read while trembling.

“And the foolish penguins cower in the crevices of rocks…. while alone the Stormy Petrel proudly wheels above the ocean…”

Since it was only a text, the vibration quickly ended. Right when I wanted to heave a sigh of relief, who knew Xiao Qin began to call the phone after she sent the text.

“Why is no one picking up?” Xiao Qin said.

How would she answer in that situation? Xiong YaoYue wanted too keep reading, but she froze at a certain point.

My phone actually vibrates twice as hard when receiving a call compared to receiving a text. As long as Xiao Qin doesn’t hang up, it would keep on vibrating.

Even from this distance, I could hear the faint buzzing coming from Xiong YaoYue’s body.

In order to hide the noise, Xiong YaoYue could only read louder.

She can barely even properly hold the textbook in her hands! She arched her body forwards to prevent the vibration sounds from leaking out and it kind of looks the same as when guys randomly pop a boner and then try to hide it.

Because of the heavy vibrations, Xiong YaoYue was afraid it would fall out of her underwear. Then, all of her efforts would be in vain, so she clenched the phone between her legs.

It was a beginner mistake as she felt the intensity even more closely. Her entire body shuddered and almost began tearing up.

As expected of an energetic girl who would never admit defeat. She managed to finish reading another passage in her current situation.

But old man Zhang was baffled. He was probably wondering why she was trembling so much while reading a passage of text.

“Did the PE committee member catch a cold?” A few students began to discuss.

“Hey, hey, Xiao Xiong doesn’t like other people calling her a bear. Lately, she wants everyone to call her Winnie.”

“But Winnie is still a bear! Winnie the Pooh…”

I snatched away Xiao Qin’s phone and stopped her malicious actions.

It was like Xiong YaoYue had just finished running in a marathon as she breathed out weak sighs.

In order to hide the previous awkwardness, she continued to read:

But her crimson red cheeks and still yet to recover to normal.

Xiao Qin suddenly said to me: “Ye Lin classmate, my phone has a persistent dialing feature. If you stay on the dial screen, it will redial after 3 minutes.”

What? Why does your phone have such an annoying feature but it can’t even go on the web? Then, I have to quickly exit out of the dial screen.

Since Xiao Qin’s buttons were really small and in different spots compared to a regular keyboard, I accidentally pressed the redial button in a panic with my fat fingers.

Xiong YaoYue had thought the marathon was over, but with the unexpected vibrations again, she could only read the text as:

“It’s the storm… the storm… The…. storm…. is breaking!”

The people who didn’t know what was going on would actually think she had caught a cold based on her red face and trembles.

Even though she didn’t finish reading the entire passage, old man Zhang had a daughter himself, so he couldn’t keep watching and said:

“Okay, you can sit down. Next time pay attention in class.”

Xiong YaoYue slumped down on her desk after old man Zhang left. You would usually never see her in this near exhausted state.

What left me bewildered was that she didn’t take the phone out of her underwear. If she doesn’t take the phone out, then I can’t return Xiao Qin’s phone.

After about ten minutes, Xiong YaoYue got up from her desk. She turned around and looked at me while full of grievances.

She made a face of realization after she saw me holding a phone at staring at her direction, then she resentfully stuck out her middle finger at me.

It’s a misunderstanding! Xiao Qin was the one who purposely called you and made you embarrass yourself in front of the class!

Although the last hit was because of me, it was done out of good intentions! I fell for Xiao Qin’s tricks again! It’s all because she’s an amazing liar and I can’t tell if she’s telling the truth or not!

After class, Xiong YaoYue borrowed something from the class leader before going to the washroom and taking out the phone.

Of course, I was still holding Xiao Qin’s phone. I have to give her a scolding before I will return her phone.

“Are you even a girl? How could you torment your fellow female classmates?”

Xiao Qin pouted and it was clear she didn’t learn her lesson, “It was her fault for making moves on you. I saw you guys leaving… no, smelled you guys leaving Qing Zi Academy together…”

So I was seen on Sunday? No wonder, there’s no way Xiao Qin could actually get that much information on scent alone. So, you saw us together while you were with your uncles, so you couldn’t chase after us?

“It’s a misunderstanding.” I said, “I went to Qing Zi Academy to go see Ai Mi. You already know she’s my sister, right? It’s because Ai Mi and Winnie gets along well, so I’m glad they could play together…”

“I’m not listening, I’m not listening, I’m not listening.” Xiao Qin covered her own ears, “Ye Lin classmate already has a girlfriend, but he was wearing matching outfits with another girl. I’m going to drown myself in the river tonight after dinner.”

After she dragged me near a window without anybody around, she returned my phone to me. But before she returned it, she wiped it down again and again with a moist towelette. I suspect she had already wiped it before too.

“Ye Lin, you’re awful.”

“Huh?”

“I did my best to prevent you’re phone from being confiscated and that’s how you repay me?”

“Although it was my fault for not being on guard against old man Zhang, you didn’t have to go that far!”

“I had to ask the class leader to borrow a pa… anyway, you went too far.”

You had to ask the class leader for a pad, right? I’ve already heard about the class leader always carrying extra pads in her bag for the girls in our class, but why do you need a pad if you’re not on your menstrual period?

“Why are you not saying anything?” Xiong YaoYue punched me on the chest and it actually hurt quite a bit.

“It wasn’t me.” I raised my right hand and vowed, “It was Xiao Qin’s retaliation for not being able to play Angry Grandma. I was holding her phone because I was trying to stop her!”

“Believe me, I’m telling the truth. If I’m lying, I’ll be a sanitary pad in my next life!”

Xiong YaoYue blinked vacantly after hearing my vows, “Oh…”

Her expression turned better,

“So it was Xiao Qin. She may seem frail, but she’s ruthless. It looks like she’s a game addict, does she play LOL?”

My phone vibrated at this moment and it felt a bit awkward holding the phone up to my face in front of Xiong YaoYue.

She wasn’t really comfortable either and said farewell and headed to the courts to practice volleyball.

The phone call was from Xing Xing. He told me he was able to get more detailed information on the deliquent girls who beat them up.

As expected, they were leaders of the girls school, the regional boss of the ‘Thousand Crane Girl’s School’. Other than the three who beat up the Five Tigers, they still have twenty something other members, all female. They copied Japan’s ‘Yamaguchi-gumi‘ naming sense and called themselves the Rose Group.

Chunni refers to a condition that originated from Japan, also known as middle schooler syndrome.

I have to make it clear that although I’m in middle school, I do not suffer from this syndrome.
