Chapter 403 – Student Duties

I’ve heard her humming a song in a strange tune: “There was a cat~?”

I’m guess she can’t remember the following lines as she only repeated those words.

In the afternoon break, Captain Guo SongTao called me to practice with Niu ShiLi and he almost got into a fight with Shen ShaoYi.

Here’s what happened. Since Shen ShaoYi had a misunderstanding about me and Xiong YaoYue, he vowed he would make class 2-3 lose worse than last year. Niu ShiLi was from our class, so he was caught in the cross hairs. As Shen ShaoYi broke through Niu ShiLi’s defense, they began arguing about if it was a foul hit.

Even Guo SongTao couldn’t understand why Shen ShaoYi had such a violent temper today. Niu ShiLi initially held it in a bit, but it was more than he could bear and he began shoving Shen ShaoYi. Shen ShaoYi may be good at basketball, but he’s not as built as Niu ShiLi. He was almost pushed down and he would have rushed straight at Niu ShiLi if other team members didn’t hold him back.

“Shen ShaoYi, what’s wrong?” Liu HuaiShui, a member also from class 2-2, asked, “I’ve never seen you be so serious about these incidents before. It happened all the time when Ye Lin was guarding against you.”

“Don’t mention Ye Lin, I don’t want to hear his name.” Shen ShaoYi yelled hysterically with bloodshot eyes.

In the end, the basketball team members still had a better relationship with Shen ShaoYi, so it couldn’t be helped that a newcomer like Niu ShiLi was alienated. It’s a good thing the captain stepped in between them to prevent them from fighting.

I still had some responsibility if we look at the source of the problem. As a man, I couldn’t just stand by and watch, so I walked over and spoke to Shen ShaoYi:

Niu ShiLi couldn’t understand my reasons for defending him.

Before I left, I thanked the captain for taking care of my classmate (Niu ShiLi) and also said the misunderstanding with Shen ShaoYi will be cleared over time. Niu ShiLi didn’t feel good as he stood to the side listening to my words.

But please don’t misunderstand, I’m not a good person. The reason why I defended Niu ShiLi is because it’s partially my fault the fight occurred. Another reason is I have to help my classmates as the PE committee member of class 2-3.

I honestly hoped the class leader could have seen me mediating the conflict. She always says I use violence to solve everything, but this time I was able to solve it peacefully, so maybe her impression of me would improve.

I looked around but didn’t see the class leader.

Though I did see Little Smart holding a notebook while trembling in anger.

I had a bad premonition.

As expected, a terrible rumor quickly spread around 28 Middle. It said me, captain Guo SongTao, Shen ShaoYi, and Niu ShiLi was in a love rectangle.

Based on the different versions, it doesn’t seem like Little Smart was the only one spreading it.

Version one: Captain Guo SongTao and Shen ShaoYi were gay partners, but I was trying to interfere while Niu ShiLi was chasing after me.

Version two: Captain Guo SongTao, me, and Niu ShiLi were all pitchers while Shen ShaoYi was a catcher. And the three of us were all fighting over Shen ShaoYi.

Version three, which is also the worst version: They gave us the nickname of the ‘Gay 4’ and said we wanted to make the basketball team our base camp and turn the entire 28 Middle into gays, where all new boys coming to our school would have their asses offered to the four of us.

Gong CaiCai went to take out the mop from the cleaning closet in bewilderment after being called a dairy cattle.

“Xiao Qin, have you even cleaned after school after transferring here?” I asked.

Gong CaiCai took the shirt from the class leader and headed to the washroom.

I couldn’t control my laughs as I thought back when the shirt also restricted the class leader’s breasts.
