Chapter 22: 19- The dance

SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 12330

SCOTT AND HAZEL WERE SECRETLY RUNNING ON THE ROOF. THEY WERE QUICKLY SNEAKING TO GET IN SINCE SCOTT HAD FOUND THE DOOR.

They got in after he helped Hazel get down and they were now standing there next to the benches and watching from the corner everyone dance.

Hazel didn't tell anyone about the fact that Scott and Hazel had a plan to spy everyone. Thing is, she also still didn't know how to use her senses like David told her to.

Scott was placing an arm on the bench when he secretly looked around for any sign while Hazel seemed to look out for the one and only Peter too.

Scott lightly touched her arm making Hazel turn to look at him to see the boy walking away wren Hazel followed after while the music played.

They walked up to the bench and sat down while looking around for any sign. Both noticed that Stiles was having his hands on the table while talking to Lydia that sat there all bored.

But wren she stood up and said some things to him she grabbed his hand and lead him to the dance floor while Stiles was moving his fist in a cheerful way making the two laugh.

When they walked past Coach there he suddenly noticed the two making their eyes widen. "McCall! I see you two! Come here you buddy's."

He walked towards them when the two quickly stood up and moved down the benches to walk behind the flags that were hanging there to make sure that Coach want catching them while searching around for the two siblings.

Scott ran towards Danny that sat on the chair with a drink. "Danny, Danny, dance with me."

"What?" He questioned.

"Dance with me."

"No."

"Please! Right now! Right now! Come on." He took him by his shoulders as Danny also placed his hands on Scott's shoulders and moved to the dance floor to dance while Hazel huffed and sat down the chair.

Suddenly, the music went down and everyone was looking at Coach that tried to tell everyone that Scott and Danny shouldn't dance together like that.

The music went back on since he started telling everyone to dance and so they did. Scot released himself from Danny and walked over to Allison that stood there alone with a smile on her face as the two were talking.

And now —to Hazel's surprise— they were dancing too?

Hazel sighed as she looked around for any drink when she saw the table right next to her to see any sight of drinks but all of them were empty as she groaned a bit and looked down to play with her nails.

That's when she saw a hand in front of her as she looked up to see the person and that was the one and only Stiles.

"Wanna dance?" He gestured her as she chuckled and made an impressed face before taking his hand as he moved her up and lead her towards the dance floor.

He placed his hands on her waist while she placed hers on his shoulders. "So. Lydia didn't accept your dance or...?"

"Well, comes out I did bring her to accept my request but disappeared to go find Jackson." Stiles sighed in annoyance making Hazel roll her eyes.

"I would never decline your request. Especially for my best friend." That made him look up and furrow his brows.

"Really?"

"Yeah!" She chuckled. "I mean you look handsome too, so. I don't understand why some girls wouldn't even at least try it out with you but I always would."

"W— wow uh. I didn't really expect someone like you to tell me that." He chuckled while narrowing his eyes a bit.

Hazel smirked at the teenage boy in front of him. "I don't think you should chase after someone that doesn't love you back. It will make the person confused and look after you, you know?"

"Yeah. You're right. But let's talk about something else should we? Kinda going to cool up the Moment."

Hazel chuckled. "Yeah. Right."

"So you went shopping with the girls today, huh? Did she pick that out for you?" Stiles asked.

"Uh no. I didn't find any dresses so my mom did pick out one from her old dresses. It kinda surprised me at how good it actually looks." Hazel said.

"Yeah. It does look good on you." That made Hazel look up. "I mean it looks good enough."

Stiles then looked around before he paused and looked like he just spotted something before he looked back to Hazel. "Hey, thank you for the dance but I just found someone that I need to talk to."

With that, he walked away and was already out of sight and Hazel rolled her eyes before a feeling washed over her and it felt like a sense.

The sound of sensing sounded like a shriek sound making her look towards the exit when the sound stopped.

Hazel then realized what Peter had told her about the senses. Since senses could only get in touch if something bad happens then that means, that something bad was happening.

She quickly ran outside the exit and got out of school to look around when the sensation hit her again making Hazel walk towards the lacrosse field.

She noticed all the lights on and Lydia standing there until a voice interrupted her. "Lydia might be in danger sooner now but I'm glad that you've finally get the sensations. I'm proud of you. But there's only one thing. You better not step into that one. Since Peter is going to be here sooner you better don't want him to smell that you just got hit by my senses. It will cause more danger." David reassured her.

"You sure?"

"Of course. I may don't have my senses but i at least have something that Peter never knew from my other side." David said.

"And that is?" Hazel questioned before he looked at her and grabbed her arm making Hazel stiff at that and he walked her to another place near the street before he turned to her.

"I can smell who hides and plays around the people that aren't even human at all. You could just see that i had smelled Peter's scent nearby somewhere. It's like an animal that can smell every scent and know who's about to arrive." David explained.

"Well. That's good to know since I got you by my side." Hazel chuckled.

"Well, I can't always appear though." That made Hazel look up.

"Why?" She furrowed her brows.

"I'm dead. And I only show up as a ghost. I'm not someone that can be active all day. Maybe two or three days a week but sometimes I don't have all the power to return for you or your help." David reasoned.

Suddenly, Hazel senses something And her expression turned serious when her eyes snapped somewhere else. David took a notice of that and furrowed his brows. "What? What's wrong?"

"My brother Scott... he's— he's not in safety." Hazel turned around when the sound lead her towards the dark woods when she quickly ran with her dress towards the woods to find her brother.

She ran all the way to look around but didn't find any sight of him. She then was thinking about the animal clinic.

She groaned and continued running all the way to run towards the clinic. That's where Scott would always run up to.

When she saw the Animal Clinic sign she quickly ran towards the door and got in to get in the clinic room just to see her brother sitting there in the corner looking irritated.

"Scott..." She slowly stepped forwards while shooting her head a bit when she stopped. "What's wrong? What are you doing here?"

"Allison knows... okay!? And i always have to ruin every chance to get the first love of my life but I just fail every time because something always has to interrupt it! I broke her heart and now for the fact that she knows, she definitely doesn't want to see me again and thinks when much worse of me!" Scott cried out.

"Scott. Don't say those things." Hazel had a saddened face over those words and the news now.

That's when he stood up and walked past her to get out of the clinic just for Hazel to follow after.

He was running through the woods when Hazel tried to caught up with him. "Scott! Wait for me!"

But he is ignores her and kept running making Hazel wince at that as she decided to bring her legs faster as she could.

Scott slowed down in front of a big stone that was directed towards whole town of Beacon Hills.

He leaned towards the stone and turned to his werewolf form until he started howling so loud that Hazel had to cover her ears.

Once he stopped it was silent for a moment before they heard a howl back. Was someone in danger?

Scott quickly ran through the woods again making Hazel groan and ran after him. The two were running for their life to get on the place where the howl located Scott to only to have Hazel follow after.

A couple moments later, the two arrived nearby in a creepy apartment but then Scott mentioned his sister to bend down and follow him as she confused did.

They then found a big hole down there next to the ground that looked like they could get in there.

Scott first got in when Hazel got in after. They walked forward to find any sight at first And it was the lights leading them to the way.

They then found a room and walked in only to see Derek hung on the zones making Hazel place her hands on her mouth in shock.

"Derek? What happened?" Scott walked over to him.

"Good to know that you signaled me. But I need a plan. Just— untie this off my wrist." Scott did as he said but he only did that to the right one.

"Why not both?" He questioned.

"Because we're gonna trick him. That's how we can end him." They didn't know who the man was but carried along. "Just hide!"

Hazel quickly walked to the dark corner and ducked down while Scott did the other way.

A couple seconds later, footsteps were heard until the lamp was turned on the table.

"Ready to have some more fun?" The mysterious man asked Derek that intensely looked up at him. "to be honest, my knuckles are kind of hurting." that's wren he bought up the baseball wren he arrived in front of Derek. "so I bought some help. But I need to warn you. I used to play in college."

Just until he lifted the baseball and was about to hit him, Derek's released hand caught it. "I bought a little help, too."

The man turned his head to see Scott standing there looking blank at the bald man. That's wren Derek punched him deeply to let the man fall down the cold floor.

Hazel slowly stood up and let out a sigh when Scott moved towards Derek while he took off the tape that was signaled with electric wires.

"Scott, help me with this." Derek demanded him to the other wrist.

"No."

"What?" Derek snapped his head towards him.

"Not until you tell me how to stop Peter." Scott threatened him on a husky tone.

"You really want to talk about this right now?" Derek questioned.

"He's going after Allison and her family. He's going to kill them." Scott reasoned.

"So what?" Derek's voice got louder.

"So tell me how to stop him." Scott kept calm.

"You can't! All right? Now—" He turned to his tied wrist and tried to move it but it wouldn't budge. That's when he turned back to Scott. "I don't know when Kate's coming back, so just get me out of this right now! Get me out right now!" Derek shouted at him making Hazel wince a bit.

"Promise you'll help me." Scott said.

"You want me to risk my life for your girlfriend, huh? For your stupid little teenage crush that means absolutely nothing? You're not in love, Scott. You're 16 years old. You're a child." Derek shouted at him.

Scott was quiet for a bit only looking towards the floor when he slowly nodded. "Maybe you're right." Then, he looked up to him. "But I know something you don't. Peter said he didn't know what he was doing when he killed your sister, right? He lied." he pulled out a paper with the deer laying dead with the symbol on its skin. "Remember this?"

Hazel walked a bit forwards when she stopped some inches behind Scott.

"This is what brought your sister back to Beacon Hills, right?" Scott questioned with a knowing way behind it.

"Where did you get that?" Derek asked.

"My boss told me three months ago someone came into the clinic asking for a copy of this picture. Do you want to know who it was? Peter's nurse. They brought your sister here so that Peter could kill Gerald to become the alpha, and that's why you're going to help me." Derek's face had turned into a blank, dangerous and anger expression which made his finger hardly live around that was still tied.

Scott turned around to walk.

"Just say you'll help me, and i'll help you unlock your other—" But a crash of chains were heard when Scott stopped and the two looked to see Derek already out of the grip.

He looked up to Scott. "I'll help you."
