Chapter 29: 25- do we know that person?

SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 6874

FOLLOWING THE MOMENT, ERICA HAD THE TWO IN HER HANDS AS SHE WAS DRAGGING THEM IN THE SWIMMING HALL WHILE STILES WAS MAKING WEIRD SOUNDS IN PAIN.

As they arrived, Derek appeared in front of them with a basketball in his head and looked up to them with an impressive look on his face.

"Ah. Yeah." Stiles said in a way of 'of course it's Derek!'. Erica let go of them and walked next to Derek.

"Stiles." Derek said.

"Derek." Stiles said back only to have a voice crack.

"What did you see at the mechanic's garage?" Derek questioned making Hazel frown.

"Uh." He was unsure as he spoke. "Several alarming EPA violations that i'm seriously considering reporting."

He pursed his lips by his lies making Hazel try not to cry out by what he said and closed her eyes to remain calm instead.

Derek and Erica chuckled at that while Derek was looking at the Basketball but that wasn't a chuckle they would call.

Something called 'I know you're lying!'.

Derek's nails went into claws as he stretched them inside the ball, making it flat. "Holy God."

Derek let the flat ball fall down the ground as he looked at Stiles. "Let's try that again."

Hazel and Stiles looked in each other's eyes as they didn't know what to do. Stiles was most likely scared with Hazel nervous.

Derek shoved out his claws as a threat to him. "What did you see at the mechanic's garage."

"All right, the thing was pretty slick-looking." Stiles explained, giving up, due to Derek. "Um. Skin was dark. Kind of patterned. I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough? Okay? 'Cause i have somebody I really need to talk to."

But Derek wasn't having it and only gave him a glare. Stiles groaned and continued while Hazel looked up randomly but then paused once she saw something crawling up there. Just as she took a great look at it, she noticed that Stiles was describing it right now without knowing. That's when she decided to slowly back away and keep her eyes on that creature.

She was too scared to only look out for herself right now as her foot touch the door and quickly turned to leave and stomped off to get out of school.

Just as she was about to run out, her sensation stopped her. It was a sensing of something that gave her panic as she groaned and quickly ran back towards the swimming hall.

Just as she ran in she knew that something had already happened. But that feeling she had was leading her into the water as she jumped in and swam down to catch ahead of Derek.

He opened his eyes slowly as he saw her along with Hazel looking back at him. She caught his hand and dragged him underwater all the way up as she let out a long breath and wrapped Derek's arm around her shoulders.

Stiles swam over towards them as he dialed Scott's number quickly. Just as he answered Stiles called out. "Scott!"

Suddenly the line went dead as Stiles swam beside Derek to help him keep up his weight. "Tell me you got him." Derek hoped, out of breath.

But all Stiles and Hazel could do, was keeping quiet and nervously hum around. "I can't stay up any longer. I need something to hold onto."

"Oh really? Not like I am in that same situation since we're holding a muscular guy with so much more wheight." Hazel said making Derek give a little glare.

"Hazel." The girl turned her head to Stiles that had his eyes fixed on something else. So she followed his eyes to see if what they could hold on to.

"Let's get there." They quickly swam, with them dragging Derek to the end of the pool to hold onto the two metal holders but they couldn't reach it until the drowned down the water.

Not before a hand reached out to them and helped them up. Which was Scott. He first threw Stiles and Derek out of the water as he grabbed onto Hazel's hand and dragged her out.

She landed on the ground next to Stiles until Scott roared out in anger to that Rex creature.

That's until the Rex came at him and threw him against a Mirror, making it shatter and flew down the ground.

The Rex was about to come at him again but Scott grabbed a piece of shatter on the ground and pointed it out at him until the Rex stopped.

All of them were confused as the Rex saw itself by the shattered glass and jumped up to the ceiling to fly through the glass and disappeared.

Meanwhile, Scott looked towards the rest that was breathing heavily with Derek that was leaning against the...

━─━────༺༻────━─━

Stiles and Scott were searching what that creature actually was but Hazel didn't really pay attention to it. "Is that even a language?"

Stiles questioned to whatever they were looking at. The girl turned her heard away from them since she was leaning against the car and had her arms crossed.

She was more in thoughts because of Derek. She thought that she could have lost him drowning there if she wouldn't have returned, who knows?

And what hurts the most, is that he is still with his pack after they helped him. After she helped him.

It's like he wouldn't do the favor and doesn't care about them anymore. The fact that she had that sensation over panic that only belonged to that one person she would fall for.

"How are we supposed to figure out what this thing is?" Scott questioned.

She quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she heard and sensed Derek's voice and presence.

"It's called a Kanima."

She turned her head to look at him as his eyes moved to hers and kept it locked for a minute as Hazel broke it by looking to the boys.

"You knew the whole time." Stiles said as they both looked at him.

"No. Only when it was confused by its own reflection." He explained.

"It doesn't know what it is." Scott said.

"Or who." Derek said.

That's when Hazel had enough of his mouth and walked next to Scott. "What else do you know?"

"Just stories. Rumors." Hazel scoffed at that response.

"But it's like us?" Scott unsurely said, waiting of that answer.

"It's a shape-shifter, yes. But it's not right." Derek said. "It's like a..." He was unsure of what to say.

"An abomination." Hazel interrupted.

Derek looked up to her and glared at her as he slowly nodded. Erica looked between them in an unsure and uncomfortable way but Hazel ignored that.

Just as they were about to leave, Scott called out for him. "Derek! We need to work together on this. Maybe even tell the Argents?"

"You trust them?" Derek's voice went stiff and anger.

"Nobody trusts anyone! That's the problem. While we're here, arguing about who's on what side, there's something scarier, stronger and faster than any of us, and it's killing people!" Scott cleared out. "And we still don't even know anything about it!"

But all Derek did was making Hazel's blood boil out of pain and anger. He turned to leave before adding. "I know one thing. When I find it..." He turned around and left as he added. "I'm gonna kill him."

S/T: I don't recognize you, anymore
