SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 10548

HAZEL'S SLIGHT SNORING FILLED THE ROOM UNTIL HER ALARM WENT OFF MAKING HER JUMP AND SMASH IT AWAY.

Until then, her phone rang. She groaned. "Could this get any worse?" She picked the phone without looking who it was.

"You have to come over. Right now."

And then it hung up of course. Hazel groaned and fell against the bed. "At least let me die for a while, how about that?"

Hazel arrived at the hospital as she was walking right to Danny's room where Scott was standing.

"Hey. I came as fast as I could. What's wrong?"

Hazel appeared as the two looked at her.

"Just asking a few questions." Scott said making Hazel nod as he turned back to Danny. "What if I told you, you can get your fake ID back?"

Danny looked up at that as Scott ran out with Hazel completely confused as she ran after only to be stopped by their mother.

"While I think you two being here to check in on your friend is all sorts of commendable. I've gotta play tough mom right now, even though I'm not very good at it." Melissa said.

The two siblings went nervous and stared at her. "Right now?"

"Yes, right now. I got a call from your principal. You are failing two classes." Then she turned to Hazel. "And you three!"

"I— I know. And that's why we're trying to study with Stiles right now." Hazel pretended.

"Do you know that if you fail even one of your midterms, that they're gonna hold you back?" Melissa said.

Scott glared at her. "He said that?"

"Yes." They sighed. "All of your friends are gonna be juniors while you two are still a sophomore. Do you understand? You cannot fail." Melissa cleared out.

"I know." Scott stared at her.

"Okay. Thank you." The two walked pass her on their way out with their mother watching them.

Hazel tried to get more air as she ran after Scott that was riding with his bike all the way to get to Danny's car that was still parked since the night before.

When they arrived, Hazel chanted and placed her hands on her knee. "Remind me," She chanted, "To get a bike when I'm with you."

He got off the bike as the two walked towards the car and Scott opened the back just to except the IPad there but it wasn't making Hazel frown.

Scott checked all over but nothing was there.

He muttered before closing it again and placed his hands on his head. Hazel scoffed before looking at him with her face all down again. "Aren't we supposed to know who that was?"

After that, they were now at the end of the forest with Stiles and Allison on their sides. "If Jackson doesn't remember being the Kanima, he's definitely not gonna remember stealing Danny's tablet."

"Why would he steal the thing if he doesn't even know what's on it?" Stiles questioned.

"What if someone else took it?" Allison asked.

"Then somebody else knows what he is." Hazel answered.

"Which could mean someone's protecting him." Scott realized as he looked to Stiles.

"Like the bestiary says, 'The Kanima seeks a friend.' right?" Allison guessed.

"Okay, hold on." Stiles butted in. "So, somebody watches Jackson make a video of himself turning into the Kanima and then erases part of it so he wouldn't know? I mean, who would do that?"

Hazel went in thoughts before speaking up. "Somebody wanted to protect him?" She guessed.

"There's something else." Scott said. "You said the only thing you found online about the Kanima is that it goes after murderers." He mentioned to Stiles before he goes back to them. "What if that's actually true?"

"Well, no, it can't be. Tried to kill all of us, remember?" Stiles said. "I don't know about you two, but I haven't murdered anybody lately."

"But I don't think that it was actually trying to kill us." Scott turned to Allison. "Remember when we were at Isaac's the first time."

"You're right, it just ran off." She answered.

"And it didn't kill you in the mechanic's garage." Scott turned back to Stiles.

"Well, yeah, but it tried to kill me, Hazel and Derek in the pool." Stiles said completely unsure about Scott's words.

"Did it?"

"It would've. It was for us to come out." Hazel said.

"What if it was trying to keep you in?" Scott questioned until they felt like everything was snapping in a second.

"Why do I feel violated all of a sudden?" Stiles nervously asked.

"Not the only one." Hazel uncomfortable but still said.

"Because there's something else going on. We don't know what it is." Scott said. "We don't know anything about what's going on with Jackson- or why someone's protecting him—"

" 'Know the enemy.' " Allison spoke up in thought. They looked at her. "Just something my grandfather said."

"Alright, I got it. Kill Jackson. Problem solved." Stiles quickly butted in. He was getting enough from it and along with Hazel as fear rose in them.

Allison and Scott turned to glare at him but Hazel pursed her lips in an awkward way. "Yeah... problem solved."

That's when they looked at her as Hazel and Stiles rose their hands in surrender. "He risked his life for us. Against Peter, you remember that?"

"Yes, but what did we just found out? He got the bite from Derek." Stiles said.

That made Hazel and Allison curiously turn into thoughts as they looked down in thoughts. Derek? How come his bite made Jackson turn into a Kanima?

"It's funny how he just got exactly what he wanted, by supposedly risking his life for us, it's funny." Stiles said nearly out of breath from talking.

"Yeah, it doesn't mean he's still worth saving." Scott said to him.

"It's always something with him, though." Stiles grinned but that wasn't a real grin to call. He was trying to make Scott sound silly. No wonder, he was always scared. "So what?"

"So, i didn't either." Scott reasoned. "You remember wren I almost killed you and Jackson?" He turned to Allison.

She nodded.

"I had someone to stop me. He has nobody." Scott said.

"That's his own foult." Stiles muttered and scoffed quietly.

"Doesn't matter." Hazel said, raising her brows. "If we can save him, we should try." That's until she sensed something making her stop in her tracks and turn her head to the truck to see any sight of Jackson but still he was locked up in there.

But Hazel knew that some little crime did appear in there.

━─━────༺༻────━─━

It had been a while since it turned night. Scott and Allison in the car and Hazel with Stiles inside the truck.

They both were looking out for Jackson in case if something would happen.

Stiles let out a sigh before turning his head to look out the window where Hazel was sitting at. "What are they actually doing?"

"Lord knows." Hazel simply answered.

It was silent again with the two sitting there and doing none. Hazel would have loved to go to bed and sleep. She was tired as hell.

"So," Stiles began. "How've you been?"

Questioned, she slowly turned her head to him. Stiles noticed that and groaned a bit. "Why are you asking me that?"

"What? Am i not allowed to check out on my best friend?" Hazel hummed at that. "Just making sure."

Hazel looked around by the windows to take on some sights for safety before letting out another sigh. "What if we fail?"

"Don't worry if plan A fails. There are 25 more letters in the alphabet!" Stiles smiled at her. Hazel slowly looked over at him again and glared at him.

"Yeah... good speech." Blankly, she responded.

Suddenly, a sensation hit Hazel when she snapped her eyes up forward and sat straight. "What's wrong?"

Hazel stood still before looking behind her. "Jackson." She whispered.

The two quickly got out of the truck and ran to the back of it just to see the back already left opened and looked to see if Jackson was still there.

But by her senses, he wasn't in there anymore.

Stiles ran his hands behind his head and Hazel placed her hands on her hips as they both were freaking out on the inside.

"Okay, one question," Confusion ran over his face and turned to look at Hazel that stood there with panic in her face. "How the hell did you know that?"

At this point, Hazel let out a cough and looked at him with thinned lips. "I— I don't know, probably just felt like looking after, you know?"

That's when they quickly ran towards Allison's car to walk by the window just to surprisingly see Scott with Allison sleeping on top of him with her upper body naked.

Hazel's jaw was left opened at the sight of her. She slowly turned to Stiles. "They had sex!?" She whispered by freaking out.

Stiles cleared his throat and knocked on the window. They both snapped their eyes opened and looked up to see them.

"You guys might wanna come take a look at this." Stiles said.

When Allison dressed up and got out of the car, they all ran towards the back of the truck again just to let Scott and Allison see it.

They stared inside the truck with no sight of Jackson as Scott placed his hands by his hips. "I have to tell my father." Allison spoke up. Scott turned and walked forward. "Scott. He's going to kill someone."

Scott sighed when he didn't know what to do next. "Okay, tell him. Tell him everything."

"Scott, I gotta tell mine too." Stiles said.

Hazel knew that Scott felt disappointed in himself but she didn't know why. "This is all my foult."

"It's not." Allison said. "But we have to tell them. We're just a bunch of teenagers. We can't handle this."

"You're right." Scott said.

"How you gonna make your dad believe all this?" Hazel asked Stiles.

"I don't know." He looked at her and quietly sighed before looking to Scott.

Scott turned towards them as his eyes turned yellow making Hazel frown. "He'll believe me."

━─━────༺༻────━─━

Allison went home while Scott, Hazel and Stiles were off to the Police station to talk with Sheriff Stilinski.

Stiles turned to the Officer that sat on the desk. "Could you buzz us in? I gotta see my dad."

The door buzzed as Stiles opened it and they looked to each other before nodding and stepping in on the way to the office until they couldn't believe their eyes.

Jackson and his father.

They shockingly stared at them while standing by the doorway. "Scott, Hazel, Stiles." Sheriff Stilinski appeared. "Perfect timing." The three were too speechless to say something and just stared. "Have you met Jackson's father? Mr. David Whittemore? Esquire."

Jackson (who was sitting on the couch) leaned forward while looking at the duo. "It means lawyer."

Crap

That's when the three knew they were finished by the sight in front of them in that moment.
