"SOUNDS LIKE YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS IS TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU." DEATON AND THE OTHER THREE WALKED AFTER HIM TO THE CLINIC ROOM.

"Well, how do I tell my subconscious to use a language that I actually know?" Stiles wondered.

"Do you remember what the sign language looked like?" Deaton asked him. "The placement and the movement of the hands?"

"You know sign language?" Scott asked him.

"I know a little." He answered as he looked to Stiles. "Let me give it a shot."

"Okay, the first love was like this." Stiles did the hand movements the way he was dreaming it. When he placed a hand out, he used his other one to circle it around his hand.

"That's 'when'." Deaton said.

"Then there's this, twice." Stiles placed his hands out as he moved the right one back and forward twice.

"That's 'door'."

"And then there's the in between that." He showed the last one.

"That's it?" Hazel questioned.

"Yeah."

" 'When is a door not a door?' " Deaton said.

Stiles that was completely confused now repeated. " 'When is a door not a door?' "

Scott was the one to answer. "When it's ajar."

"You're kidding me. A riddle?" Stiles looked at Scott. "My subconscious wants to tell me a riddle?"

"Not necessarily. When the three of you went under water, (not you of course Hazel) when you crossed from unconsciousness to a kind of super consciousness... you essentially opened a door in your minds." Deaton explained.

"Okay, so what does that mean? The door is still open?" Scott questioned him.

"Ajar."

"A door... into our minds?" Hazel asked.

"I did tell you it was risky." Deaton said to Stiles.

"What do we do about it?" Scott asked.

"Well, that's... difficult to answer." Deaton winced with an unconvincing face.

"No, wait a second. I now that look." Stiles said. "That's the 'we know exactly what's wrong with you and we have no idea how to fix it' look." Stiles said.

"One thing I do know... is that having an opening like that into your mind, it's not good. You each need to close that door. And you need to do it as soon as possible." Deaton warned the three as they shared a look.

The three walked out until Stiles' father arrived with his car as he parked and got out. "Dad, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here because i could use some help." He rubbed his hands together. "Actually..." He pointed to Scott. "your help."

"Why me?" Scott wondered.

"Because eight years ago, almost an entire family died in a car accident. One of the bodies, a young girl named Malia, was never found. There's enough evidence to have me thinking that... that a Werewolf could have caused the accident, and then dragged her body away. If you could somehow get a lock on her scent. If you could somehow help me find her body, it might provide the missing clue."

"And what if it was a Werewolf?" Stiles asked.

"Well, there's somebody out there who murdered an entire family." Hazel could think of one person but didn't bring it up. "Someone who still needs to get caught."

The next day morning, Sheriff Stilinski and the other three had went to get in the girl's house while the elderly one was talking to the owner of the house.

He had to distract the man for the three to get inside. Stiles slowly opened the door as it started squeaking a little and quickly got inside due to the sound as Stiles closed the door.

They quickly picked stuffed animals from Malia's bed and passed it to Scott. Scott that sniffed on every each of them spoke up. "All I'm getting is dome animal smells."

The two rushed over to him as Stiles asked. "What kind of animal?"

He held out a horse figure to Scott but the two already spot something they wish would've never be expected in the exact room.

The growls made it even worse. "Dog." Scott Said until Stiles saw it after looking through the girl's cabinets. The dog snarled as the three froze.

A black Rottweiler standing there on the doorway and staring at the three. Stiles widened his eyes as the thee tried to stay still to not let the dog explode into barking. "Hi, puppy. Get rid of it!" Stiles whispered to Scott.

"Me? Hazel can do that too." Scott whispered as she tried her best to not roll her eyes.

"I don't care that she's a Vampire, you're the one who's the opposite of dogs. Glow your eyes at it. Glow your eyes at it, something. Be the Alpha." Said while they tried to keep a straight face, not looking away from the dog.

"I can't." Scott said. "I don't have control."

It started growling when Hazel remembered the other day. "I'm actually able to compel the dog to not bark but I don't think it will work on an animal at all... because imagine stepping one foot forward." Hazel whispered.

"Damn it." Scott whispered at that.

"Okay, buddy, you're going to have to try something." Stiles whispered. They slowly went ready as Scott held out his hand as a sign for the dog to stand calm.

"Nice doggy..." Stiles and Hazel sent him a glare until they flinched when the dog started barking at them.

"Apollo! Apollo! Shut up! Shit the hell up!" —Apollo— stopped immediately when it stood still and Hazel narrowed her eyes at that.

Then it whined and walked off. After that, Sties went to the other cabinet and grabbed a book as he passed it to Scott that took it.

He smelled on it. "Anything?" Stiles looked over at him.

Scott shook his head. "All I'm getting is that dog."

Then, Stiles caught a picture frame on the table of two little kids as he took out his phone and pictured it.

After that, they were outside now, talking with Sheriff. "I'm sorry." Scott apologized. "I tried as hard as I could. If it wasn't so long ago, I might have been able to do it."

"It's okay. It was a long shot." Sheriff Stilinski forced a smirk as he shook his head. "In fact, it was a pretty terrible idea. I think I just ripped a wound open in that poor man. I never should have bought you guys here." His voice quiet in sadness. "I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for trying, alright?"

"Yeah." He went in the car as he turned up the engine and drove to the street. "Aren't there a lot of cases that aren't solved?"

"Yeah, I just think this is one he... felt like he could've figured out right now." Stiles said as they watched him five away.

"Why is this so important now?" Hazel asked.

"Well, he wants to be able to solve while he's still the Sheriff." Stiles said as he looked at her.

"What do you mean 'still Sheriff?' " Scott questioned. The two were confused but Stiles was the one not knowing how to answer.

The best thing to happen to be able to live with your only brother an your only mom. Everyone and everything is quiet.

Until your father appears again as a special FBI agent.

"No one invited you. Okay?"

"I'm here to help you." Their father said. Scott and their father were now arguing and all Hazel could do was sigh and stand there while her mother finally arrived from work.

"That doesn't make any sense, Dad. Who are you helping?" Scott said out loud. "Just get out!"

"Scott—" Rafe rose his voice but Scott still didn't care.

"What? I can't believe that you'd do this to my best friend." Scott spat out.

"I'm not doing anything to your friend." Rafe said. "I'm doing my job."

"Your job sucks." Scott said when Hazel tried her best to not grin at how cute he actually said that.

"Some days I can't argue that."

"Can somebody please tell me what the hell is going on?" Melissa spoke up.

"He's trying to get Stiles' father fired." Scott pointed out.

"No. That's not true." Rafe said as he faced their mother.

"What are you doing?" Melissa sounded slightly shocked when she asked that.

"Conducting a case for impeachment." Hazel rolled her eyes at that annoying answer.

"That sounds a lot like getting him fired." Hazel spoke up from behind wren her father tried his best to not look behind him.

"The lack of resolution and ability to close cases is what's going to get him fired. My job is just to collect the information." Then he looked to Scott and Hazel. "And it's the job my superiors have given me."

"Your job sucks." Melissa said.

Scott started to grew angrier when both girls noticed his claws growing out, which wasn't good.

"Scott... sweetheart..." Melissa walked in front of him to keep Rafe behind her from noticing anything as she grabbed onto his claws hand while his eyes flashed red. "Come with me right now."

Melissa looked over to Hazel which leant she had to follow right after as she went after them, while Scott was panting in anger, trying to stay calm.

They both headed him to the hall as he leaned against the handles of the stairs. "Let it go. Just breath and let it go."

Suddenly his sharp teeth's grew out. "You told me you and Stiles learned a way to control this.

You find an anchor, right? Find your anchor." Melissa said.

"My anchor was Allison." He groaned. "I don't have Allison anymore."

"Then be your own anchor." Melissa hoped while he was still trying. "You can do this."

That's when the teeth's and claws disappeared as he leaned against the handles and sighed in relief.

"Sweethearts... let me tell you something no teenage ever believes, but I swear to you is the absolute truth. You fall in love more than once. It'll happen again." Melissa told the two that went completely silent. "And it's just amazing and as extraordinary as the first time. And maybe just as painful." She nodded with a smile. "But it will happen again. I promise."

Hazel felt that but she never fell in love with anyone. Except that one person that she had decided to not bring up. But he was the one she never stopped caring for.

"And until then... be your own anchor." She mentioned to Scott. "And you." Hazel looked up to her when she went out of her thoughts, letting all the emotions slowly draw back on her. "If you also end up in those situations where you need someone... always end up looking for those you truly love and care for. Someone that you know you're safety belongs to."

And that made Hazel think of Derek immediately. Because her heart said it all. It did because it started melting in emotions and the fact that he had left town made it ten times worse.

But then she remembered that she didn't want to reveal her feelings yet so she inhaled and straightened up as Melissa rubbed her arms. "Okay?" Hazel nodded in return looking into her mother's eyes, with so much emotions hidden behind her own ones.

S/T: I found love where it wasn't supposed to be. Right in front of me, who talks some sense to me.
