Chapter 69: 63- Curiosity

SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 8200

HAZEL STRODE IN THE ROOM TO FIND A TYPICAL PETER SITTING ON THE COUCH WITH DEREK.

Hazel out of her moodiness, sat down on the chair in front of them and put her legs on top of the table, crossing them.

"That table's Italian." Peter glared at her.

"So are these boots." Hazel rose her eyebrows by her respond to that while Derek secretly grinned at that. "Are we going to talk interior design and fashion, or are we going to talk numbers?" Sarcasm was heard by her question.

Derek sat there looking into glasses that he had in his hands and Peter was the one to write something on a paper and slide it over to her as she took it.

She looked at it before her eyes dragged up to his with an intense look as she wrote something back there and slides it back to him and leaned against the chair.

"We're having you to find Kate, not assassinate the President." Peter looked up to her with a sarcastic grin.

"I was hired by my partners —which you know as the Vampire brothers— to find Kate. You're hiring me to find her first. Going against the Calaveras is what's going to cost you."

Peter wrote something in the paper again as he slide it back to her but Hazel slide it away from her to Peter again when he stood up with a scoff as Derek snatched the paper and ripped it.

"We'll pay." Derek told her making Peter turn around. "Just find Kate. That's all we want."

Hazel scoffed a grin when Peter interrupted. "Are you kidding me? That —Derek Hale— is Hazel McCall you're making a deal with. You can't just have all this conversation with someone that literally isn't even all that!"

"Well good morning Wolfy. Guess I'll have you gladly to my next session, would ya?" Hazel tilted her head with a slight grin as he narrowed his eyes like a kid to her.

"You're nothing big to pay for, just to have you do something for us. Who do you think you are?" Peter asked.

"Your fairy Godmother."

"Okay, that's enough! Stop it you two. Especially you Peter." Derek scolded.

Hazel sighed as she turned her head to Derek and turned serious. "He's kinda right. I was just about to jump into that but your uncle had to make it ten times worse. So here's how it is. I am still a friendly friend of yours that you don't need to take so serious and to beg for —which I kinda not dislike—. Because I'm still Hazel McCall that just had a big difference as to who i was and who i am now. You can still ask me for a favor well since I'm a Vampire. Not the first time I've been hired to finish a little job. Like... saving your asses."

Derek shook his head trying to stay serious but the grin kinda showed up as he moved his head up to stand on his feet and looked down to her.

"Fine."

Hazel was back at the warehouse, watching all of the weapons that are mostly used to kill Vampires for.

"Curious aren't you?" Hazel grinned still not looking behind her as she was busy exchanging all of them.

"I'm just wondering if I should take all of these with me. Especially a gun that I'm in use for." Hazel said.

"Ah, you're hired i see. Let me guess, the Hales. Just like you wished." Eren said as he stood next to her.

Hazel smirked and nodded. "Yep. But let's not bring Vampire weapons to their apartment. I'd rather have guns in my bag."

Eren nodded. "We have all that, don't worry."

That's when she turned to him. "Any news?"

He let out a sigh and hummed as he leaned against the desk and crossed his arms. "Lately, I've been sensing a familiar presence. And not just one."

Hazel furrowed her brows. "What do you mean? What about David?"

"I asked him and he responded the exact same way. We both have been feeling some strange senses but it almost feels like..." He trailed off.

And Hazel was the one to stand there in curiosity waiting for him to continue. "Like what?"

He slowly turned his head to face her and look her in the eyes when the words hit him. "Like they have been there but five hundred years ago."

Hazel knitted her brows and fully focused on him since she found it really interesting. "What do you mean five hundred years ago?"

Eren sighed and gulped as he drifted his dark eyes up to her. "Me and David aren't the only brothers to exist." It was beginning to get insane by the fact that they weren't telling her every single thing about them. Was there any more?

"Gosh. How many?"

Eren sighed and grinned, tilting his head as he leaned against the table, crossing his arms. "A brother you wouldn't want to know about."

Hazel's eyes popped wide open. "Another brother? Please tell me there aren't more."

Eren shook his head. "This is the last one I'm telling you about." She sighed and nodded. "But he's far different than us."

Hazel narrowed her eyes in curiosity. "He's not a Vampire?"

"Oh he is. But he's not just that." Now that's the only answer she wanted to hear. "He's far more the most dangerous brother that everyone was scared of. Someone to not mess with. Why do you think David was in so much contact with Peter Hale?"

Hazel's expression still held curiousness which made Eren even grin wider. It was beginning to get tense.

"My brother had a lot more history with Peter than David did. And he turned out to be something more than just one of us." And that's when he straightened up to look ahead into her eyes. "He's a Hybrid."

"There's nothing in here about Kate." Derek said, looking through the files as he was having his back faced while Hazel was getting dressed behind him, in her black jeans and bra. "This killer used an ax."

"Actually, he used a military tomahawk." She gripped a black tank top and reached to put it on. Meanwhile, Derek that wasn't watching but turned his head to the side decided to say something.

"That's not in this report."

"I know." Hazel said, putting the tank top on.

"Are you going to tell me what else you know? Seems like you're already the most smartest and all knower than me now." He teased.

"Not yet." She answered his question. "And to that sentence, I'll take that as a compliment." Derek chuckled quietly. "But news flash, I don't really know much."

"But you know something." He said, his head still turned to the side as he closed the files and turned to face her.

"Maybe." Derek shrugged, looking deeper for her words as they both placed there hands on the desk, facing each other from the opposite. "The problem is, the people I need to talk to right now, don't talk to people like you."

"You want me to wait for you?" He rose a brow.

Hazel stared at him before she leaned over. "I want you to trust me. Despite the fact after what happened, if you know what I mean."

Derek grinned and also leaned in. "And why would I trust you?" He rose his brows. "You don't even fully trust me."

"That for a reason." She teased with narrowed eyes and a little slight grin behind her lips which were probably noticed. "And I know what you really want." The two stared into each other's eyes as Hazel moved back and a couple steps to the side of the desk. "You want what Kate stole from you." Hazel walked around the desk and in front of him. " 'The true nature of someone is reflected in their eyes'. The foreign language that those sentences were spoken as. In your case, the color of your eyes." She stared into them with a narrowed gaze and moved her way to the other table with her jacket on it along with her weapons.

Meanwhile, Derek grabbed the gun from the desk and turned to Hazel. "You got a week." That's when he threw the gun over to her which she easily caught with her leather jacket on her hand.

Hazel rose a brow at that along with her grin not leaving. He was indeed a teaser. "Funny that it's coming from you." He scoffed a smile. "I mean, come on, I got two Vampires from a thousand years, living through every single thing. The only reason I know everything than you or anybody does." She winked and turned to leave, moving her jacket on her shoulder to hold onto it, feeling him watch.

S/T: Damn right we take turns being wrong. I get real accountable when I'm alone. I get real about it all, when I'm alone. It's so crazy missing you when I get on.
