Chapter 80: 73- Gerard's threat

SPY ✔︎ DEREK HALEWords: 5782

THE GUN TWITCHING WAS FOLLOWED BY KATE WHO STARED DOWN AT DEREK.

"You're just as popular as ever, aren't you? Must be those blue eyes." Suddenly she kicked him in the face, making Derek fall backwards. "And those perfect cheek bones." She punched the gun against his face.

Hazel growled as she had been forcing to pull the bullet out of her which she knew was the closest she could end to do.

"I thought it was my smile." Derek continued to somehow sound sarcastic which made Hazel roll her eyes.

Kate chuckled with no remorse. "Where's the rest?" She held up the bottle.

"Why? It's not enough to save Gerard?" Derek teased. "You really think it's gonna make a difference with him? You're what he wants, Kate."

Kate raised the large gun to his face. "I know that you can heal from one or two shots. But a direct hit to the head? I don't think so." She whispered the last part.

Suddenly, another shot appeared but this time it hit Kate who bend over in pain by Hazel who was sitting up slowly, not stopping from shooting her.

Kate ran off to hide behind the car as she grunted. "You always gotta ruin a good like, Hazel!"

"You think someone who still goes all over my mate can save me from killing you?" Hazel raised her voice.

Kate chuckled. "You're the one who decided to go all over him, Hazel! Guess Derek never told you about us, did he? Because all I want is revenge!" She held up the bottle. "This wolfsbane is going in a bullet, a bullet for Scott McCall." She groaned by pain that shoot through her again.

Derek was the next one to groan as he moved to stand up. "Derek..." Chris called out.

"Get back to Beacon Hills. Warn Scott." Derek helped Hazel up & ran off with her.

Hazel and Scott arrived in Beacon Hills, already in the midst of a battle. They swiftly dispatched the agents who had been attempting to shoot at the pack, their skills making it look easy.

Peter, having fought off the agents as well, stood victorious as the remaining foes drove off in retreat. Hazel took a deep breath, scanning the familiar faces around her. A surge of excitement coursed through her upon seeing the pack again.

Scott. Stiles. Lydia. Malia. Peter.

And Deucalion, slumped against a brick wall, dead, with the others staring at him.

"It's really started, hasn't it?" Malia asked, her voice carrying a mix of concern and anticipation.

"What's started?" Stiles looked up at her, his face full of confusion.

Scott, crouched in front of Deucalion's body, stood up, his face set with grim resolve. "It's an all-out war."

In an instant, Scott's gaze shifted to Derek and Hazel. Without a word, he walked over and embraced Derek tightly. They held each other for a moment before breaking apart, and Scott pulled Hazel into his arms for a long-overdue sibling embrace. They hadn't shared one like this in what felt like forever.

Peter, ever the pragmatist, broke the silence. "As much as I enjoy the impromptu family reunion, what are you two doing here?"

Derek crossed his arms, his tone serious. "We found a pack slaughtered in Brazil. There were two words written in blood on the wall: Beacon Hills."

Scott's face hardened as he exchanged a look with Derek, then glanced at Hazel. "You came back for Beacon Hills?"

Hazel smirked. "No, I came back for you."

Scott's serious expression softened into a smile, but the moment was interrupted by the crackle of static from a nearby radio. They all turned towards the car as the voice on the other end began to speak.

"Blood and destruction. Dreadful objects so familiar. All pity choked with the costume of fell deeds."

Everyone rushed over as Stiles slid into the driver's seat, Scott right next to him.

"Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge. With Ate by his side, come hot from hell. Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice. Do you know the rest, Scott? Do you know your Shakespeare?"

Derek motioned for Scott to pass him the radio. "Cry 'Havoc!' and let slip the dogs of war."

"War, indeed. Welcome back, Derek. I hope you brought the interesting Vampire with you. You must all be feeling rather nostalgic. Are you pleased with the little family reunion I've gathered around you, Scott?"

Scott's face darkened with determination. "Yeah, well, why don't you come join us, and I can thank you in person?"

"I even have a few visitors for you. From London. Even someone like Jackson Whittemore couldn't resist coming back to Beacon Hills. Say hello, Jackson."

A crackle of electric shock filled the air, followed by Jackson's agonized scream.

Jackson's voice came through, breathless but defiant. "Do it again, and I'll shove it so far up your ass!"

"Lost none of his charm, has he? You can find him here with us at the Armory, Scott. In fact, I'm going to tell you where to find all of them." Gerard's voice dripped with malice as he continued. "Your Deputy Hellhound met some friends of his while responding to a call at Eichen House. Your father was on his way back from San Francisco, intent on joining the fight. But he didn't get far. You might want to tell your mother to skip her shift at the hospital tonight. Liam and his friends are there now. Optimistic of them, but woefully ill-advised. This is how you wage war, Scott. A strategic positioning of your army against theirs. Which is why you will come to me. You will try to save as many as you can. And you might even save a few. But your limited resources will be spread thin. Ultimately, you will fail. The dogs of war, Scott. They're coming for you..."

Scott gripped the radio tightly, his knuckles white, and closed his eyes, trying to rein in the fury rising inside him.

War just began.
