Chapter 217 “What the hell is wrong with him?”

I blurted out a curse word in a fit of anger and bit my tongue, looking around xiously. Cursing at an auspicious event wasn’t noble to begin with However, no one paid attention to me as someon was providing them free entertainment, causing a scene at my engagement party. His Oscar winning acting glued the audience to their spots he cried woefully.

“Laura, you can’t do this to me. I am the one you love!”

Well, that uninvited guest required no introduction, his fame for jeopardizing my life was an undeniable truth. I couldn’t help but feel disgusted to see Leo barging into the hall. Wrinkled t–shirt, messed up hair, and pale face, he looked like a walking zombie due to dark circles around his eyes. He was definitely drunk as his slurred speech supported this notion.

“I can’t live without you, Laura. Please don’t leave me.”

I recoiled in horror as my terrified gaze fell on Bright’s mom. Her stern face changed color between red and green to witness the drama at this private event. Getting embarrassed in front of immediate family and close friends was too much for her. She rolled her eyes at me.

“I told my son to be aware of this woman. But no!

Kids these days won’t listen to their parents.”

Her furious tone broke the trance of my beloved fiancé like a thousand wings clapped beside his ear, shaking his body. He lunged forward and grabbed Leo’s collar.

“What are you doing here, Leo? Get out. You aren’t invited here.”

Leo wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and shot back at Bright.

“I am here to see my Laura. You can’t stop me.”

With that, he pushed him away with full force and staggered towards me.

“Laura, baby, please listen to me. I have fixed my behavior and doing things differently now.

You can trust me with your heart again. I won’t disappoint you.”

I clenched my fists, fuming at his obvious lies as he was behaving rudely like before, destroying my happy moments with his nuisance. It was so shameful for me to accept that I once fell in love with this man. He was so full of himself.

Bright tried to stop Leo, but he reacted violently and kept moving forward. His claims of profound yearning converted into begging for forgiveness as he advanced with his regret speech.

“I know I have hurt you, Laura. Please forgive me for that. I was an idiot to think that your feelings don’t matter in our relationship.

The rivers of despair flowed out of his red puffy eyes, making my kids uncomfortable. Jane and Zoe rushed to my side and held my hands.

It was a futile attempt to cover up this situation, my kids weren’t so young that they couldn’t understand the gist of the problem.

I thought my warning would get through him, but Leo was as dense as a mule. He didn’t think twice and used our kids for his benefit.
