Chapter 4: . Three .

Your Boyfriend, My MateWords: 8590

"You can't seriously believe mom would just, be...well, seeing somebody." I stumbled through my words, the thought of my Mother with someone other than dad seemed ludicrous and I couldn't even form the proper words to express it.

"How else do you explain her behavior?" Gianna asked as she regally folded her arms and looked at me for a reply, when I came up with nothing she continued, "little Lina, you haven't been here, yes the move was a big thing and it seemed to help mom, but it wasn't until she went back to work that she made her complete one-eighty transition."

I could only stare mindlessly.

Gianna sighed, "as you know I managed to put myself through law school and now I'm one of the best attorneys in all of upstate New York, and I wouldn't be the best if I just ignore the facts and evidence."

I shook my head, I was just about to tell her It was definitely hard to believe but I knew Gia must be right, then the doorbell rang.

"That must be the Chinese, I'll go and pay." She said, leaving me to sit on the sofa and wonder about moms new boyfriend. I'm not sure if it was the though of my mom with somebody or what but soon my heart rate picked up and my stomach began to knot.

"I completely forgot you were coming by." I heard my sister say softly.

I rolled my eyes, 'must be her new victim' my wolf spoke, I nodded in agreement.

When I heard them entering the living room I stood up to greet this powerful future Alpha that my sister says is a complete stiff from Boresville USA. But when I turned to greet him I froze completely, a nanosecond went by and my wolf began to stir, then I breated in and took his scent in with my air supply.

The smell was intoxicating with its deep warm notes, now she was clawing to come forward.

He cleared his throat and straightened himself up just a bit before he extended his hand, "you must be Evalina, I've heard so much about you, he smiled at me. "It is truly a pleasure to FINALLY meet you."

His voice was like a soothing lullaby.

'Mate' my wolf howled with delight.

"Lina." Gianna whispered sharply, clearing my head.

I reached out and took his outstretched hand, an warm current flooded my veins sending a pleasurable tingle all the way down to my core, my heart beat faster and I willed my brain to come up with something to say. "N-nice to meet you too Cesare."

*ding dong*

The sound of the doorbell made me pull my hand away, this couldn't be happening, this handsome man couldn't be my mate, he's my sisters boyfriend.

As Gianna once more went to pay for the food I turned away, I couldn't look at him knowing he's my mate while he belongs to my sister.

The guilt of the situation was becoming increasingly heavy.

"Please don't turn your back on me." He pleaded softly.

I faced him once more and nearly drowned in the loving gaze of his stunning smokey green eyes.

"Don't forget we have dinner plans at my mother's house this evening, my sister Evalina is coming home for the thanksgiving break and I want you to make a good impression... I've called your maid and asked her to send your grey suit to the cleaners to get pressed." Gianna informed me. "It should be hanging in your closet by now."

While beautiful and driven, Gianna DeLaurentis genuinely infuriates me beyond all reason more times than not.

I knew from the moment I met her that she was just another ambitious pretty face, desperate for power and merely one amongst many who want to fill the future Luna seat.

Somehow she used that silver tongue of hers to get me to ask her out, she was clever, I'll give her that, & of course it always looked good on the future alpha if he had a beautiful future Luna on his arm.

But as soon as my parents met her my father became completely enamored with her and all I've heard for the last two months is how "fine a Luna Gianna will make one day."

"Are you listening to me Cesare?"

I bit my tongue and smiled, "of course dear."

"Good, I've got to go, I'll see you soon, try not to be late." She said before she gave me an air kiss to both cheeks, presumably not to ruin her perfectly painted lips.

I sighed and closed the door behind her, I needed a release...sex would be ideal, but I would have to settle for a drink considering Gianna has this "three month rule" and seeing as we've only been dating for 2 months, she wasn't even trying to hear about sex.

As I poured the expensive whiskey into my glass I shook my head, how had I, Cesare Minicci let a woman come in and run my life?

I let the smooth liquid run down my throat, relishing the sweet burn as it made its way down, "something is going to have to change."

I took small swigs of the brown liquor as I began to get ready for the evening, I looked at the grey designer suit and thought against wearing it, but the thought of having to pick out another entire outfit and possibly being late wasn't worth it. As much as Gianna irks me at times, no doubt she knows what she's doing, perhaps that's exactly what I do need in a Luna.

I looked down at my watch and figured I needed to leave now before I became late, so I went into my garage. Once there I lovingly looked over at my favorite car, she was under a car cover so I couldn't really see it but I made a silent promise to give her a spin soon before I got into my Mercedes.

It didn't take long before I got to the DeLaurentis house, I worried that perhaps I should have brought wine, I suddenly felt nervous and anxious all at once, Gianna had never had this effect on me before, why all of a sudden then?

I brushed it off and rang the door bell, once the door opened Gianna opened the door, a smile (that I have never seen before) on her face. "I completely forgot you were coming by."

I looked at her skeptically as she moved to let me in, I removed my coat and hung it on the coat hanger before Gianna led the way to the living area.

With every step I took my wolf arose, growing more antsy to come forward.

And then that's when my eyes fell to a small female.

'Mate'

Although this girl and Gianna seemed very similar there was slight differences that I could easily detect.

Both were striking beauties, but where Gianna's is much more seductive and fierce, this girl's beauty is much softer, more warm and welcoming. She is just a bit shorter, and her long brown hair had a lighter tint to it.

Gianna has these intriguely strange eyes, one is more green while the other is more brown, however these perfectly even hazel eyes (which at the moment seemed to have a lovely shade of brown to them, maybe because of her maroon sweater dress) were a product only of this new girls.

I knew I was staring and I needed to fix myself, I cleared my throat and composed myself before stepping forward to introduce myself, "you must be Evalina, I've heard so much about you, it is truly a pleasure to FINALLY meet you."

And indeed it was, for years I've searched for my mate, I had finally given up on my search just before the DeLaurentis' moved here, that's why I was reluctant about Gianna, I knew she wasn't my mate but I also didn't want to commit to just anybody.

"Lina." Gianna whispered sharply, her words seemed to pull her sister out of a slight daze and her pretty eyes fell on me.

She reached her small hand out and took mine. That mates bond instantly intertwined us together with just one touch, and I knew right then and there that I would stop at nothing to have my mate. As the warm currents ran through my body from her touch I just stood there enjoying the moment, having her eyes locked onto mine.

After a moment she finally spoke, "N-nice to meet you too Cesare."

'Cesare'

My name fit well on her tongue as it expertly rolled out of her entrancing lips, what I wouldn't give to hear my name once more sound from her alluring voice.

*ding dong*

The sound of the doorbell caused her to pull her hand away from mine, and as Gianna went to see who was at the door I was left alone with Evalina, unfortunately the first shot she got she turned away.

"Please don't turn your back on me." I damn near begged. Even my wolf was whining at her turning away from us, was our mate rejecting us?

But thankfully she turned back around, once her eyes were looking into mine once more I relaxed and smiled softly. Her large Hazel eyes were full of wonder and sadness but all I could do was admire her.

"Food's here" Gianna's voice rang through the house.

"W-we should probably go and eat." She simply said before walking out of the living room, I followed close behind her, she could've suggested I walk off the Grand Canyon and I would have eagerly followed her blind lead.
