_____________

Her body slouched like a cat as she kept on flinging different clothes from my wardrobe.

"I can't believe there is no single sensible girly clothing here." Jess hollered, while she kept on thrashing my clothes on the floor.

"Girl! Easy, that gucci top costs more than a thousand dollars, it is my favorite." I stood up from my bed and picked the top. I remember I was roaming around the mall aimlessly when I spotted the cute outfit. It looks like a hip hop dancer outfit.

"Durh! Who cares?" She hissed.

"I do, because it is one of my favorite."

She chuckled, "relax, it is just a thousand dollar, right?"

"You will buy me three different outfits if you ruin it." I glared at her.

She chuckled and said sarcastically, "oh Anna, I'm so scared."

"Whatever!" I plopped on my bed to continue my video game.

"I have dresses that cost three hundred dollars and even more than that but you don't hear me screaming it out for the world to hear." She poured and continued her search.

She groaned louder again and massaged her temples. "I can't believe this huge wardrobe is only filled with your tomboy outfits."

She has been searching for what she called the perfect outfit since one hour ago. I told her it was no use and that we could easily just drop by a boutique to get her definition of a perfect outfit. But she refused and insisted to search my wardrobe and now she is getting physically exhausted and mentally frustrated.

"I can always throw in a simple white button-down, black blazer, jeans and brown boots with a scarf on my neck or a head warmer and still look good. So why bother with some stupid sissy clothes." I sassed as I continued playing the video game, a rise of the tomb raider on my MacBook pro.

"This is your first high school party you are attending in your entire life and I need you to look different and beautiful. I want you to make a memory out of it," Jess said gently as her voice lowered with each word and sincerity took over her features.

"But no. You are just so oblivious to all of this." she snapped and threw a black brazier on my head.

"The heck woman," I exclaimed shooting her a killer glare.

"I don't need you to make me look different. It not like I'm even interested in the party. I'm forced, remember?" I elucidated and punched the wall hard when I lost the game.

"Listen, we are going to party hard so enough with your tomboy dressings we are gonna rock tonight." She squealed excitedly like a kid that finally got the cookie jar. And she continued her search.

"Awe!!!" She yelled and began twerking happily.

"What the cause of your sudden excitement?" I questioned sparing her a few glances before focusing on my game again.

"Just check out this baby I finally found in your wardrobe." She happily divulged as she laid the dress neatly on my bed.

I cringe at my first glance at the dress. It was a stupid red short gown with an exposed neckline. This is exactly what other girls will proudly wear but for me, it will simply make me feel exposed and uncomfortable.

"I can't wear this ridiculous red dress, Jess," I confessed and set my laptop down on my bed gently.

"And why is that? It a cute and beautiful dress Anna. You will look amazing in it. Remember it your first time doing this, make a hell lot of fun from this babe." She advised and began looking for a black matching stilleto with it.

"Come over here, let get your hair and makeup done with already. I know you feel anxious and all, but trust me, it will be a great experience. You will love yourself." She promised and crossed her heart.

"Fine, I can't wait for all of this to be over. You have me now, do all you want." I surrendered while she fist-pumped the air. I sat on the dressing chair and let her perform all magic she wanted to do.

"I have always dreamt of this moment. The day I get to lay my hands on your hair and turn you into a modern Cinderella overnight.

I stared at her in the mirror. She looked so beautiful and different. A total contrast to her usual everyday look.

Beauty can be consoling, disturbing, sacred, profane. It can be exhilarating, appealing, inspiring, chilly. It can affect us in an unlimited variety of ways, yet it is never viewed with indifference. Beauty demands to be noticed; it speaks to us directly like the voice of an intimate friend. If there are people who are indifferent to beauty, it surely because they do not perceive it.

Her make up was done lightly and minimally but was snatched. Cheeks highlighted to perfection and chin contoured to flawlessness. Her hair was silky done to a chignon style exquisitely.

Her spaghetti-strap stood elegantly on her shoulder blade. A small black purse accessorized her dressing and making it impeccably and immaculately perfect. This girl looked different from the regular tomboy. The girl was me. I looked breathtaking and dashing as I stared at my reflection in the mirror.

"You look amazing, Anna banana," Jess complimented. I pouted and gave her an appreciative hug.

"You equally look amazing babe." I winked at her.

She wore a black crop-top and a black leathered skirt. She furthermore paired it with a black long knee-length boot and a black bag. She was clad in an all-black outfit as she let her hair loose and curly.

"Since outfits have been settled we must be on our merry way," she said enthusiastically as she headed towards the door with her boot making click Clark sound.

She led me towards her BMW 8 series and soon we were on our way to Nicole's house where the party is being hosted.

On getting to Nicole's house, it is a big beautiful mansion that was turned to a club for the party. The large portico held drunk teenagers as they made out and did all sort of crazy things teenagers did. Empty bottles of drinks laid carelessly beside them as they danced so hard like they had no worries in the world.

Huge athletic bodyguards guarded the entrance and allowed only the wealthy and popular kids in. A nerd was picked up and thrown into the garbage dump next to the house because Nicole said she is a dumpster and requested for the bodyguard to do so. High school night parties are like a cemetery, everyone's dying to get in.

"There is no need to freak out, it is going to be the best party you have ever attended. Just go with the flow, stick around me, don't leave your drinks opened without watching because it might get spiked." Jess forewarned and held my face in her hands like a mother will do to her kid.

"Anyone who spikes my drink will get beaten up. It's that simple." I admitted and gave her my full smile. While she rubbed our hands delicately together.

"I just hope you don't get into trouble. You are a magnet for trouble." She stated and pulled me inside the lousy house after giving the bodyguards some wads of mint dollar notes.

"It not my fault I'm capable of handling trouble." I hollered sarcastically. Music boomed so loud that the entire house shook and even my heart shook in rhythm with the beats.

Disco light and glitters ball, light of red and blue flashlight everywhere and diming my eyesight. I have only seen disco light in movies and the fact that I'm currently experiencing and seeing one and it thrilled me.

People made out, got drunk, played beer pong, striptease, truth and dare as they continued hollering chug!!!

Everyone held a red disposable cup that contained either alcohol, or fruit punch that I believe is spiked with little quantity of drugs, and wine.

Girls pulled off their top and shook their bare chest to cheer their boyfriends or friends at the game. Everything happening around me left me in stupefaction. How kids that should be reading or having a normal life in their parents' house, went to night parties every Friday to do all sort of things all in the name of following trend.

I spotted Ian dancing wildly with Amelia and I smiled at his progress with her. Things are happening so fast with them. Eric and Mike sat on the couches with their bottle of wine as they laughed at whatever discussion they were having before finally waving at me at first sight.

Everywhere smelt of wine and sweat and mixed with an unfamiliar smell. I can swear it drugs because I perceive this smell when father drove past the hood with bad boys.

The fantastic-4 are officially the highlight of the party as they stayed at the centre. Smoked shisha, as different random girls grinded on them. But the truth is, isn't this how night highschool parties are? Teenagers want to trend and do what their mates are doing. So Nicole's party isn't an exemption either.

I walked towards the boys with Jess beside me as she snatched a cup of drink from the kitchen and danced towards the boys.

"Holla tomboy, it nice to finally see you at a night party, I see you are finally loosing up, aren't you?" Mike taunted as he took a sip from this cup.

"Nice to see you as well, I'm not here to spend the entire night. Just came here because I had no choice. I am better off playing games instead." I shouted as I tucked in a loose strand of hair behind my ears. One has to shout when talking to someone because the music is just too loud for the normal eardrum. It is a mystery the neighbours haven't called the cops already.

"You talk to proper, loosen up, don't be so stiff," Ian commented as he stood up to ruffle my hair while I jabbed his stomach.

"Ouch! What was that for tomboy." He yelped as he crossed his hand on his stomach as he tried massaging it. The other boys chuckled at our drama.

"That for being a nuisance. How many times do I tell you not to ruffle the damn hair Asian." I hollered and pouted childishly.

Someone tapped my back gently. I turned to face the stranger and saw the egoistic and cockiest bastard I have ever known. I bet you all can guess who now.

"A drink for the cute lady." He said with a smile as his dimples flashed. I simply hissed and faced the boys back while he stood there like a fool.

He tapped my back again and pulled his bangs away from his eyes. An act most girls cooed about but unfortunately for him, not me.

"Listen, I'm sorry for the other day okay, I am. I was in a foul mood and didn't expect such harsh words from you either. I'm really sorry nevertheless." He apologized as he gesticulated wildly with his hands and sincerity took over his features.

"It's a Friday night. Why don't you go bother some random fan of yours and let me be, jerk." I sassed and plopped on a high stool while Jess excuses herself to go dance with a random hot guy.

"How can I let such a gorgeous beautiful specimen like you sit all alone in probably your first party. That would be total nonsense." He said too serious while I shook my head at his pathetic attempt to win me over. A-line I'm sure he has used on all his fans.

I kept wondering why the arrogant jerk won't leave me as he stashed cash to the guy sitting next to me. The guy stood up without a question and Ralph took his position instantly.

"What exactly do you want Mr big fat ego?" I probed moving straight to the point as my head began banging as a result of tiredness and headache.

He chuckled so hard. As he head fell back in laughter as his palm covered his mouth.

"I didn't know you already gave me a name. A name not suitable for a noble hot bad geek like myself." He said mockingly and laughed the more.

"Well apparently, you ooze of arrogance and ego so I labelled your ass that," I stated with a smirk.

"Anyways, I need one dance, I want you to drink with me and also be my friend." He divulged cockingly as he tapped his blue sneakers on the floor anxiously. He was clad in a black tee-shirt, black denim skinny jeans, blue sneakers and finally a long gold chain and wristwatch.

"And don't you think that is too much to ask for in a day?" I questioned with a brow scrunched up.

"It might be too selfish of me but I want all. I have been fascinated by you since the first day I saw you. It even a surprise I never noticed you from the onset." He declared as his face portrayed all traces of concern and sincerity as he continuously checked me out.

"It a pity I don't have any of that to offer." I declared immediately and he looked downcasted and rejected. It must have being his first time of being rejected. Such a huge bruise to his ego.

But then I remembered Jess advise of having a fun night. Ever since I got here I haven't had any atom of fun. Who says I can't start now.

"I won't stop pestering you till you agree you know." He replied arrogantly as he took a long sip from his signature red disposable cup.

"On second thought, I can offer a dance and we can drink together. I just hope your female fans won't come for my head, mind you, I'm not your friend." I warned by pointing and accusing finger at him.  His face portrayed epic excitement and happiness as they radiated joyfully I his tea brown eyes.

"Well, that's something. It's better than nothing." He stated happily as he pulled me to the dance floor where sweaty and drunk bodies danced in rhythm.

He shoved a beer in front of my face. I reluctantly took the bottle and began chugging fastly as I closed my eyes to digest the liquor that sent my throat and head burning.

We began to jump and mix with the crowd as we danced excitedly. It is my first party and I'm here to have fun even if it is dancing with my sworn enemy that will guarantee that then so be it.

"Why are you staring at me?" I scrutinized loudly as I continued getting wild.

"It's handy that I have my library card because I'm totally checking you out." He reiterated shockingly. As his breath fanned my bare shoulder and exposed back.

He took me towards the game centre and I played beer pong, striptease and whatever the crowd decided to do. I lost each game and made a fool of myself but I kept remembering why I was doing all of this. Ralph and I laughed at my stupidity as this was my first time of playing such party games. The room felt too stuffy and hot and I felt I needed air since I felt slightly tipsy. Jess is nowhere to be found ever since she left with the other guy.

"You mind joining another game, I promise it will be fun," Ralph said excitedly as beads of sweat adorned his smooth face.

"I am sorry, but I think I have had enough fun for tonight. I'm slightly tipsy and need to find my friend, Jess if we want to get home in one piece." I said hastily and excuse myself. He kept calling my name but I refused to turn back till I have blended with the crowd and will be impossible to find.

The house is a big one so finding a person amidst the drunken teenagers will be a lot harder than I thought. I kept walking around the house, I opened all rooms and had to close my eyes since such images will get my eyesight sore. It will be a waste of time to scream her name because the music was too loud.

I opened the back door behind the kitchen, a cool breeze blew all over me as goosebumps crept all over my skin. I was suddenly blinded by a thick brown liquid that looked like poo and smelt like chocolate.

In case you don't understand, a bucket of hot cocoa, as innocent and sweet as that is, It packs the combination punch of the world most staining ingredient. And it was dumped all over me. My hair, face, dress, purse, shoes. All my dressing went down the drain with just a bucket of hot cocoa and even the floor wasn't spared as a little drop of cocoa splashed on the floor.
