______

Beads of sweat adorned my forehead as drops trickled down my neck and back soaking my gym clothes in the process. I stopped and rested on the bark of a tree to catch my breath as I ferociously clutched my water bottle and drained the innocent bottle of all it fluid as my life depended on it. Well literally and technically, my life truly depended on the water to cool my racing heart that felt like it will combust any second from now.

"Boo!" Someone screamed in my ears all of a sudden while I shouted and kicked the person in the leg.

"Ouch!" Dad screamed as he fell on the floor, massaging his already swollen feet.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry dad. I never knew you were the one. When did you return from your business trip?" I queried and helped him up while he groaned in pains.

"Early this morning. You were asleep, so I decided to let you rest and join you while jogging this morning." Dad revealed as he shrugged his broad shoulders and still winced in pains he tried to massage the leg.

"Dad! Why did you scare me like that? It was just reflex action, I didn't mean to hurt you." I clarified as my face displayed pity.

"It's fine honey. It just shows you can always defend yourself anytime. You are a true definition of a hero, pretty impressive." He commented and took his sunshade to cover his eyes from the scorching sun.

"Awn! Thanks, Dad," I revealed giving him a tight hug while he patted my hair.

"What your plan for today? Any schedule?" He perused as his forehead creased in seriousness.

"Uhm, I'm supposed to go shopping with Jess today." I divulged and glanced at my wristwatch. "Two hours from now if I'm simply accurate," I confirmed while he dug his hand into his pocket and began pulling out the objects in it. Things like car keys, cash, complimentary cards and soon.

"I told Bryan to assemble the gifts I got for you in your room. Does new tennis bat and sneakers ring a bell to you?" He queried with all seriousness as he tilted his head to a side hiding his smile.

"Thanks, father. You know how long I wanted to get some Italian made sneakers." I thanked and hugged him once again.

"How was school this week? Did anyone trouble you? Let me beat their ass up." Dad reiterated as he cracked his knuckles meaning business. I laughed at his pettiness and he finally joined me.

"Dad? Are you sure you are strong enough to beat some teenage ass?" I perused and raised a brow.

Dad immediately raised his arm and flexed his muscles. "Why do you think young women still chase ya, papa?" Dad questioned while we both laughed.

"I will remember to tell mom that young women chase after you." I divulged as I stretched my body, completely ready to resume my jogging.

"C'mon honey, I know you wouldn't do that, besides they chase after me and not the other way around." Dad hollered with all sincerity as he raised his arms in gesticulation.

He soon began to chase after me and we jogged together.

"Remind me to give you my credit card once we get home. All shopping expenses on me." He revealed with a wink and jogged forward leaving me smiling.

Dad is in his early forties, he has the good looking and young genes so he doesn't look a day older than eighteen. He is a fashionista and ensures he slays his suits even on business meetings.

He is also muscular with biceps and abs at the right appropriate places and truly young women chase after him because of his good looks, wealth and popularity. But thank God mom is also good-looking if not she will be in one hell of a competition.

Jess drove into the New york's fifth avenue garage and we could already see it lavish window display that gave a vivid view of the beautiful things inside.

New york's fifth avenue is the city's most famous shopping street and probably the most famous shopping street in the world.

While walking side by side into the store, we saw flagship stores for nearly every high-end designer from Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Armani, Fendi and lot more.

The huge crowd flooded every perimeter of the stores and we hurriedly joined the crowd.

We entered a store and began our shopping.

While jess went to pick crop tops and pencils skirts, skinny jeans, gowns, and random girl's clothing while I went for sneakers, hoodie, skinny jeans and all. After like forever I finished my shopping first and it was already noon.

"Jess?" I called while she furrowed her brows in concentration and kept flipping a random bag hung on a hanger.

"I'm starving so badly, hurry with the shopping and let get it done with." I started while my stomach finished it off with a lousy growl.

A random girl gave me the disgusted look and hissed before walking faraway from me.

"Keep walking far away from your future dumbass." I salvaged and equally hissed.

"You and trouble are like magnet and iron. How you got into a conflict within minutes of staying away from me is pretty impressive." She commented and began heading to change into the pink dress that laid delicately and fragile on her arms.

"Few more minutes Anna banana, let me try this one last outfit." She hollered and shut the door before I could give a reply.

"This is the part I hate about shopping with Jess or mom. Once it's time to leave, they finally see dresses that catch their attention and leaves them breathtaking.

"Girl, aren't you starving?" I asked frowning and began pacing the store.

"Good, now I'm done. let grab some lunch," she said repeating what she has been saying for the past one hour but I'm glad this time around it is real.

"Thank goodness!" I exclaimed happily and dragged her ass out of the store.

"Wait a minute Anna, I love that jumpsuit." She stated and instantly walked towards the rack that held the jumpsuit as she practically dragged me along.

"Jess please, I'm starving for crying out loud. Let the innocent jumpsuit lay in peace." I pleaded and sighed tiredly.

"Please Anna banana, be a little more patient and let me try on the sexy little cute jumpsuit." she pleaded and clapped her hands excitedly leaving me to my self.

"How do I look?" Jess asked as she stepped out of the dressing room.

"Perfect," I screamed even though I didn't glance at her dress, I just wanted some food in my belly.

"It quite interesting how you can rate my dress without sparing me a glance." She stated flatly and shook her head in disbelief.

We walked into Armani Ristorante still inside the mall to enjoy nice Italian dishes. We ate pasta on epicurean delights while enjoying the spectacular views of new york city.

"Hey, baby doll." A musical masculine voice called from behind me as the voice brought memories.

I had an idea who the person might be but I wished it was a bad dream and hoping it will be someone else.

I dropped my fork that had huge pasta rolled on it and slowly turned my head to meet him.

Why won't the arrogant jerk stay away from me and keep his troubles at bay?
