I smouldered with resentment, rage flowed through me like lava. Molten anger rolled through every part of my body and rage gripped me. Anger poured through me as my temper sparked dangerously.
Just one glance at him made me lose my appetite as I balled my fists with anger blinding me.
"What do you want?" I perused as my nostrils flared. Anyone that looked at my direction should be able to perceive and see the imaginary smoke fuming from head.
"I was passing by, then I saw you and decided to say hi." He replied with a smile as his dimples surfaced. Anyone will call him cute at this moment, the anger I possessed made him look like the total opposite.
"Hi to you too you can be on your merry way." I reiterated and picked my pasta filled fork to continue eating while Jess stared on probably wondering what the hell was going on.
"Okay, what's up with the attitude? I thought we were making progress yesterday?" He started, as his brow raised in confusion and his face depicted all forms of seriousness.
People were beginning to stare at us since our voices weren't low and we are causing a commotion.
He came dragged a chair and sat beside me, he removed his sunshade, exposing his warm brown chocolate orbs. He licked his lips and scratched his tousled hair as he stared around the eatery.
"Look baby doll," he started and touched my hand that rested on the table affectionately.
"Don't you ever, ever touch me again with those filthy phalanges, you motherfucking dickless baboon? Perhaps, if you go and meet your son called ex, she might be able to explain better." I finished off with my voice laced with irritation and stormed off.
"Wow, that was damn harsh. I mean it felt like an action movie dialogue." Jess hollered beside me, as her eyes widened the like the size of a saucepan. She unlocked her car with the automatic remote and we both plopped in.
"Okay, what was that about? You just insulted the school baddest boy, what were you thinking?" Jess queried as she strapped her seatbelt on and finally turned to face me.
I opened her pigeon hole and picked mars chocolate amidst various brands of chocolates and cookies too much on.
"Aren't you gonna give me an answer?" She scrutinized as her eyes followed my every movement. Right from when I opened the nylon and slowly munched on the chocolate. Crazy right? Too bad she didn't let a single detail slide away as her eyes watched me like a hawk.
"Fine! It probably his fault, jeez what the hell am I saying? It his fault that I got embarrassed by that little witch and her minions yesterday. And you expect me to be all mushy gushy around him today? Hell no." I declared stubbornly and folded my hands to my chest.
"Look, I know you feel bad about yesterday and what happened centred around him. But you still need to hear his side of the story before concluding. We both know Nate is nothing but a witch and she deserves all your anger, but please don't transfer your aggression to Ralph. He wasn't even at the scene when it happened, remember?" She reprimanded and sighed tiredly.
She dropped the shopping bags at the back of the car and started the car.
"I get your point, but Ralph is no saint either. How can we fight one moment and the next moment he wants to be my friend just like that? It makes no sense and it only means he is up to no good." I started and tucked some loose strands of hair behind my ear as my anger slowly dissolved.
"I will be a fool if I don't understand your points, I do. But I feel like you are attracting a lot of attention to yourself nowadays which can expose you to villains in the school. Just stay safe and you will be fine. And always remember you got me, it the two of us against multitudes." Jess commented with a smile as threw a wink my way which I gladly returned and face the road again.
Soft music began playing in the background as silence filled in.
"So, what your deal with Brady, does a certain best friend of mine have a crush on the second baddest boy in the school?" I teased with a smile while she playfully smacked my head from behind.
"Ouch! What is that for? Is someone denying her feelings?" I further teased as a permanent smile took over her feature.
"I don't know, I might be having a little bitty wincy crush on him." She admitted and raised a brow and shrugged her shoulders. She swerved into our estate and reduced her speed.
"I knew you got a crush with the way you keep staring at him at any little given chance." I attested and decided to drop the topic when her face got stained with a blush.
I opened the back seat door and picked my shopping bags.
"So, see ya troublesome ass during dinner." She reiterated and sped away.
____________
So we have this tradition in our house. Mom believes that anytime visitors, families, and friends are visiting, we must be on our best outfits and must be ready to welcome them at the appropriate time.
She always claims that we flatter those we scarcely know, We please the fleeting guest and deal full many a thoughtless blow To those who love us best. She claims to always create time for guests despite how busy she is.
She educates everyone that we have two duties to perform to parting guests, one is to see that he doesn't forget anything that is his and the other is to see that he doesn't take anything that is ours. Every house where love abides And friendship to a guest is surely home. And a home sweet home for where the heart rests.
The exotic aroma of spices, beef, chicken combined with the fruity waft filled the entire house. At seven pm prompt, the entire dining has been set. Cutlery and servatte have been positioned to perfection as various souls and food laid there naked and ready to be devoured by the hungry humans.
"Evening Rachel." Mom greeted jess' mom and the women pecked each other's cheeks as mom welcomed her in.
"Evening Leonardo, it being quite an age," Dad said and shakes hands with Jess' dad. Jess came in next in a knee-length gown and heavy makeup as she hugged my plain ass. I was clad in grey hoodie and denim skinny jeans with socks.
"Hey darling, look at you. You have grown taller than me, how have you being?" Rachel asked with a smile that could illuminate the darkness. Her laughter and smiles are easily contagious and I soon found myself smiling in response.
"I have been great, what about you, Rachel?" I inquired and walked towards the dining leading the guest like an obedient daughter that I am.
"Fine, everything has been great." She finished off and pulled Jess for some chit chats.
"Damn, the house smells so great. My mouth has watered even without tasting the food." Leonardo commented and everyone laughed. Leonardo is a big-time foodie, he never jokes with food. He is quite plump and still handsome. His wife on the other hand is Jess role model, Jess steals fashion tricks from her mom. She is so beautiful.
"Come here, tomboy," Leonardo called pulling me in a bone-crushing hug.
"I can't breathe." I managed to choke out before he finally released me.
We settled around the dining room where meatloaf, honey baked chicken, Salisbury steaks, tacos, cheeseburger soup, chilli, chicken caesar salad, fettuccine alfredo, roasted garlic, oranges, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, apples, and finally banana bread spread out on the table.
The aroma reached the nose before the food reached the mouth to be tasted.
"Anna honey, why don't you pray for us?" Rachel inquired with a smile while I instantly closed my eyes.
"A huge thanks to the big guy up there for this lovely moment and meal. We can finally pig in." I prayed while dad stared at me in shock as he raised a thick brow questioning my fashion of prayer.
Leonardo took a large bite from his chicken and hollered, "compliments to the cook." While the cooks in the kitchen giggled.
After dinner dad and Leonardo went to discuss business, mom and Rachel discussed fashion while Jess and I were also busy in our world.
