Chapter 12: Theater

For you it is a show until the actor throws off the mask to show real tears.

For you it is attention-seeking. Sometimes it really is, but not always. Oh my god, who hasn't sought attention from their parents at least once?

I've acted in the theater, and that's all that matters. An indelible mask, that's what I have. And underneath the mask? Another, and another: that's what you would answer.

You love me, and I love you. But you have made mistakes, you have made so many mistakes, and so have I. But I ask you: why? I do not act, I swear, I have not acted for so long now.

An actor forever, an actor not to be believed. An actor!

But I am real, don't take me lightly, I beg you. I will not act as I have never acted before.

The moral of my story is wrong - I never cried "Wolf! Wolf!"

Who is really acting, then?

Whoever they are, please, stop. Let the play be over.
