Revealing

Tangled Fate (1st book of ROYAL ROMANCE )

Veer ran a towel through his damp hair, his other hand resting on the sink as he stared at his reflection in the mirror.

"Why the hell am I smiling?" he muttered, watching his own smirk form without permission.

Flashes of Ridhima played in his mind—the way she had nearly fallen, the way her breath hitched when he caught her, the way she stubbornly avoided his gaze yet couldn't hide her racing heartbeat.

"Interesting," he mused, tilting his head.

There was something unusual about her. Something that made teasing her feel... effortless. Natural. Unlike the usual games he played with people, this wasn't just for fun—it was the way she reacted that made it addictive.

"You want to avoid me, sweetheart?" Veer chuckled, running a hand through his wet hair. "Let's see how long you last."

Veer's phone buzzed as he dried his hair. Seeing Ridhima's name on the screen, he raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Well, that's new," he muttered before answering.

"Sweetheart, to what do I owe the pleasure? You never call."

Ridhima's voice came through, steady yet firm. "Not yet. We need to discuss something. Can you meet me at the office?"

Veer leaned against the dresser, intrigued. "Office? Sounds serious."

"It is," she replied.

Veer glanced at his watch. "Busy in the morning. Evening works."

"Fine. 7 PM, don't be late."

"Oh, now you're giving me orders?" he teased.

Ridhima ignored his remark. "See you at the office," she said, cutting the call.

Veer stared at his phone, smirking. "Now this... is getting interesting."

Next Morning – Arora Mansion

At the breakfast table, Veer sat with his parents, sipping his black coffee when his father cleared his throat.

"Veer, Mr. Thakur reached out. He wants you to take the deal with him. He sees you as a hardworking businessman."

Veer set his cup down and nodded. "Alright. We'll hold the meeting at the office today and finalize everything."

His father leaned back in his chair, pleased. "Good. His son wants to step into the business world, and Mr. Thakur believes you can guide him."

Veer smirked slightly, his mind already working through the details. "If he's serious about business, then let's see if he can keep up."

His mother, Aarti, watched Veer carefully, noticing a different spark in his eyes—one that wasn't just about business. But she stayed silent, observing.

Ridhima's Office – Morning

Ridhima was getting ready for the day, her fingers expertly tying her hair back, slipping into her red saree. As she adjusted the pleats, her younger sister, Aarini, walked into the room with her phone in hand.

Aarini, always a little mischievous, grinned as she snapped a photo of Ridhima, catching her in the moment. With a teasing smile, she sent the photo to Veer.

Aarini's message to Veer: "Look at my sister in red. Isn't she gorgeous?"

She then looked up at Ridhima, who was still oblivious to the message being sent, and said, "Di, you look stunning. Veer will be impressed for sure!"

Ridhima rolled her eyes, not really caring for the constant teasing about Veer. "Stop it, Aarini. I'm not interested in impressing him."

Aarini laughed. "You might not be, but you already do."

Veer's Office – Morning

Veer was sitting at his desk, buried in work, when his phone buzzed. He checked the message from Aarini and his eyes went to the attached photo.

Ridhima, in the red saree, her makeup perfectly done, was looking as graceful as ever. His heart skipped a beat as he studied the photo for a few moments, the image of her making his breath catch.

"She's... beautiful," he muttered under his breath, trying to hide his growing feelings. It was odd. She wasn't even in the same room as him, and yet, just the thought of her had him lost in thought.

Veer quickly responded to the message, trying to keep his emotions in check. "She looks good in red, I guess. But you knew that already."

He set the phone down and ran a hand through his hair, trying to focus. But something about Ridhima lingered in his thoughts, and it wasn't just the saree. It was the way she made him feel when she was near.
