Breathtaking

Tangled Fate (1st book of ROYAL ROMANCE )

At the Rajawat Mansion

The lavish hall buzzed with light conversation. The Arora family sat comfortably on the plush couches, admiring the grandeur of the Rajawat residence. Veer's sharp gaze subtly scanned the room, hoping for a glimpse of Ridhima.

Despite his best attempts, she was nowhere to be seen. The cheerful laughter of his father, Mahendra Arora, and Vijendra Rajawat broke his thoughts.

Mahendra: "So, where's Ridhima? We're eager to meet her."

Vijendra: "She's getting ready. She'll be here soon."

Mahendra: (smiling) "Ah, I see. Well, if you don't mind, shall we proceed with signing the papers?"

Before Vijendra could respond, Veer firmly interrupted.

Veer: "Please, let's wait until Ridhima arrives."

Everyone glanced at Veer, a bit surprised by his insistence.

Vijendra: "It's alright. Ridhima is already on board with the agreement."

Just then, footsteps echoed through the hall. Meera Rajawat, still wearing her hospital coat over her dress, entered with a warm smile despite looking a little tired.

Meera: "Sorry for being late, Papa. Got caught up at the hospital."

Vijendra: (proudly) "Ah, here she is — my third daughter, Dr. Meera Rajawat. She's a brilliant cardiologist."

Meera greeted Mahendra and Veer's mother, Kusum Arora, with polite respect.

Meera: "Namaste, it's lovely to have you here."

Mahendra: "A doctor in the family — impressive."

Vijendra: "Meera, why don't you take Veer and show him around the house?"

Meera gave a playful smile.

Meera: "Sure, Papa. Come on, Mr. Veer Arora, let's give you the grand tour."

Veer stood up reluctantly, glancing once more toward the hallway, hoping Ridhima would appear. But she didn't.

Meera: "Looking for something?"

Veer: (quickly) "No, just curious about the place."

Meera: (teasing) "Well then, let's not waste time. The Rajawat mansion awaits."

As they walked away, Veer's mind remained distracted. Why was Ridhima taking so long?

In Front of Ridhima's Room

As Meera's phone rang, she gave Veer an apologetic look.

Meera: "Sorry, Mr. Arora, it's the hospital. Mind if I take this call? Just give me a minute."

Veer nodded politely. "Go ahead."

She stepped away, leaving Veer standing near the door of Ridhima's room. Just then, the door creaked open, revealing Ridhima.

She looked breathtakingly different from the composed businesswoman he'd met earlier. Draped elegantly in a red saree, her long hair framing her face perfectly, her eyes held the same fierce spark, though now tinged with elegance.

For a moment, they both stood frozen, their eyes locked. Veer's thoughts spiraled as he took in her captivating presence. Why did she have this effect on him? The bold CEO now looked ethereal yet commanding.

Before he could speak, Ridhima grabbed his hand, pulling him into her room and locking the door behind them.

Ridhima: (sternly) "How are you here?"

Veer blinked, surprised by the question.

Veer: (confused) "How should I answer that? You don't know why I'm here?"

Ridhima: "No, I don't. And professional matters stay outside. How dare you come into my personal space?"

Her fierce tone lit something inside Veer. He stepped closer to her, his eyes unwavering.

Instinctively, Ridhima took a step back, her back brushing against the wall as he closed the distance between them. The tension crackled between them, electric and undeniable.

Veer: (softly but firmly) "It's your father who wants his daughter to marry Veer Arora."

Ridhima's eyes widened as realization dawned. The missing puzzle pieces clicked into place.

Ridhima: (with disbelief) "Wait... you're Mahendra Arora's son?"

Veer nodded, his gaze never leaving hers.

Ridhima: (with defiance) "Even if this is a business contract, I would never want to marry a man like you. I'll say no."

She moved to walk past him, but Veer blocked her path effortlessly.

Veer: (calmly but provocatively) "It's already signed."

Ridhima: (in shock) "What do you mean?"

Veer: (with a sly smirk) "The papers — they've been signed. This contract is already sealed."

The air thickened with unresolved tension as Ridhima's expression shifted from disbelief to determination. This was far from over.

Ridhima's Room

Ridhima's eyes blazed with fierce defiance as she took a bold step closer to Veer, their faces inches apart.

Ridhima: (icy tone) "In your dreams, Veer Arora. I'll never marry you in real life."

Veer's lips curled into a dangerous, confident smirk.

Veer: (leaning closer) "Careful, sweetheart. Don't challenge me. I'll make you Mrs. Veer Arora."

Ridhima let out a scoff, tilting her head slightly.

Ridhima: "Keep dreaming."

With that, she turned on her heel, unlocking the door with a sharp twist and storming out without a backward glance. Veer stood there, watching her go, an amused chuckle rumbling in his chest.

He ran a hand through his hair, smirking to himself.

Veer (thinking): "This is a first... No one's ever talked to me like that. And damn, I like it."

There was a spark in her that intrigued him, challenged him. Her stubborn attitude only fueled the fire inside him.

Veer (grinning): "Now it's my turn, Ridhima Rajawat. This isn't just about business anymore — it's my zidd. And I always get what I want."

As he walked out of the room, Veer knew one thing for sure — he didn't just want Ridhima for the deal. He wanted her in his life, and this was only the beginning of a game he was ready to win.
