Author pov:

Kandis stopped before opening her door, sighed and fake smiled so that Nora won't be concerned about her.

She opened the door and searched for Nora. Nora was sitting in her room beside her window, "you got a friend? " Nora asked as Kandis entered her room, taking a place on her bed.

" Yeah, kind of ". Kandis replied.

" YOU GOT A FRIEND ", Nora said forcing every word of the sentence.

" Yeah, but it's not like you saw him for the first time, he was the one who saved me when we were going to the restaurant and got in trouble", Kandis giggled.

" Yeah, I do remember but I thought you both just know each other! ",

" That time .. actually he was just someone I used to know, he is a transfer student, it hasn't been that long for him ".

"Then that person won't be just someone! I am sure. You being Kandis had a conversation with someone and Calling that someone your friend means he isn't just someone", Nora said teasingly.

" I didn't say he is my friend, I said kind of ", Kandis replied, " but that guy is strange, I don't know anything about him and he won't even discuss ".

" Don't force him, it might be something he doesn't like to talk about ", Nora said with a concerned look.

" Whatever ",

Kandis took a blanket and rolled it on her body.

" You are going to sleep? " Nora asked.

" Do I ever sleep in the daytime! ", Kandis said and she got up from the bed with the blanket still rolled around her.

" I will make you something good to eat, come, " Nora said gesturing her to follow.

"Okay ", Kandis replied and followed her.

Nora observed Kandis almost tripping 2-3 times because of the blanket " keep it back in the room " Nora said a little irritated.

" Why? Because I am looking like a ghost? My messy hair and this blanket are the perfect combinations for Halloween this year ! ", Kandis said.

Nora just shook her head and started cooking, while Kandis sat at the dinner table doing her homework.

" That guy from earlier, What was his name ? ", Nora asked.

"Oh it's Callen ! ", Kandis replied

" It's Callen! And...and his Full name ? ", Nora stuttered.

Kandis observed the look on her face but she ignored it and replied " it's Callen Keller why ? ".

" Nothing just got curious because you never had a friend ", Nora replied. Kandis gave a nod still not satisfied with her answer.

There was a knock on the door, Kandis took her books and kept them inside her room as she expected some guests.

Nora opened the door and welcomed Eric and his mom "Maggie".

"Hey! After so many years, hi Eric ", Nora said.

Kandis came out of her room with a smile as she sees Eric.

" Hey! " Kandis gave a hug to Eric and a small smile to Maggie.

" I thought I should give a visit to you after knowing that Ducas left you ", Maggie said and Kandis sighed. She didn't want to go through those talks, she just wanted to let it go, she wanted to forget about what happened and move on.

Nora looked concerned about kat but let Maggie speak, " Eric told me he left, well he is a type to leave everyone just like he left me ".

" Kat, Eric how about you go to a park near the apartment", Nora said still had a concerned look.

Kandis mouthed thanks and nodded to eric.

" Let's go, wait let me take my phone ", kat Said.

Kandis sat on a swing and Eric still standing.

" I am sorry about what my mom said ", Eric said with a small voice.

" She didn't do anything wrong of course you both shouldn't be sorry ", Kandis said giving a small smile.

" Let it go, let's have some fun ". She added.

"Like what ? ", Eric said raising his eyebrows in question.

" Umm...how about teasing your bullies ", Kandis said with a giggle.

" I don't want to die ! ", Eric said teasingly.

" You sure? It will be fun", Kandis said.

" Here use my phone ", Eric said. Eric is brave but he cannot face the bullies when they are actually in front of him. Kandis always got the situation and didn't let it be worse than just a few crap words.

Kandis dialed the no. And called Lucas.

" Hey, how is life going on? ", Kandis said teasingly.

" Ahh, it's you kat! Why are you using Eric's phone I thought Eric gonna beg for something from me ", Lucas said and Kandis could guess him smirk.

Listening to him Eric showed no emotion of fear or happiness.

" You know what! You know why we called you ? ", Kandis asked

" To beg for something ! ", Lucas said while Kandis can feel him smirk again.

" Umm, yeah I can beg you

... to allow me to punch you right in the face ". Eric said.

"Shut up! " Lucas yelled

" No boy, me being besides Eric, oh no! Eric won't beg for anything at least not to you, he knows you are a loser ", Kandis said while poking Eric who is standing beside her Swing.

"You - ", before Louis Could speak, kat cut him off and said " we are using you, you know? ", she took a pause to laugh and Eric gave a small laugh.

" We were getting bored so thought about calling you ", Kandis continued.

" I will see you tomorrow ", that's all Louis said and the call ended.

" You got it for tomorrow Eric, use your fist if not mouth, fist works well ", Kandis said standing up from her Swing.

" I am confident! I want to take revenge on all of them ", Eric said but Kandis corrected him " you are not taking revenge ! You are just letting them know that they cannot use you ".

Eric gave a nod and someone shouted from the parking lot. It was Maggie Calling Eric.

"Go, looks like the gossips are over ". Kat said laughing.

"Bye ", Eric said and left.

The next day in school Kandis took her seat near a wall and before she could put her head down for having a small nap before class someone took a seat beside her.

" Hey, it's me ", Finn said cheerfully.

" Yeah, I know . Good morning ". She said with no expression.

" Good morning ", he said sitting next to her.

" Are you Lucas' brother ? ", Kandis asked.

Finn was surprised by her sudden question and Desperately wanted Callen to answer this question for him.

" No why ? ", Finn replied, trying all his acting skills to lie.

" You are then ", Kandis said smirking a little.

" What are you talking about? ", Finn got scared and his heart started beating loudly. He thought today is the end of him. Kandis could see tears forming in his eyes.

Callen entered the classroom and saw Finn and kat together.

Finn took his bag and left for home while Callen watched Kandis in question.

" Finn ! ", Kandis called.

" What did you do now ? ", Callen said with an angry and concerned look.

" I don't know, I just don't know how to communicate with humans ". Kandis said with a noncaring look but deep inside she was disappointed in herself. She had no idea of how much her question can hurt him. She asked him in curiosity with no idea what it meant to him.

" Then don't ", Callen shouted as the whole class turned towards him and by his shout, it was the first time Kandis flinched.

Seeing her flinch he apologized and left in a hurry while Kandis was still trying to handle herself.

And the day goes with Kandis being alone and not trying to think about what happened.
