Shreya POV
" I got a promotion." I told Vaibhav.
We then cheered.
It was 1:30 by the time I reached home. God! How am I gonna get in? Everyone must be fast asleep.
But my tension was relieved because the door was not locked. I got in and locked it.
All the lights were off. I was way too hungry so I went to the kitchen but saw no food.
" The food is in the microwave. Go wash your hands, till that time I will heat it." Roshni bhabhi said.
" Bhabhi, I am really sorry to keep you awake." I said apologetically.
" Shreya, you are my younger sister and it is my responsibility to take care of you." Bhabhi said. I went and hugged her. She chuckled.
" Bhabhi, you know what! I got a promotion." I told her happily.
" After today's debate, I am not sure if I am surprised by hearing this news." She said with pride.
" Thank you." I said.
" Seriously Shreya, you were perfect today. Everyone was awestruck seeing you, well except Bua dadi, you we know how she is." Bhabhi said.
I then had my dinner and we went to our respective rooms. The lights of the room were on and Kabir was working.
" Kabir, why are you awake till now?" I asked him.
" Was waiting for you and also had to check the important mails. What took you so long?" He asked.
" After the segment, We had a video conference with the BBC For the channel's international diversification. It took an hour, after that, I was summoned to the top floor where I got to know that I was promoted." I said excitedly.
" That's great! What is your designation now?" Kabir asked, shutting his laptop down.
" I'm the sub-editor now." I squeaked.
" This calls for a celebration Mrs Rathore." He said and attacked my lips. We kissed until we both were out of breath.
" Now change and come. You must be tired." He said.
I nodded yawning. Kabir chuckled.
I changed into my pyjama and T-shirt. Ahh! This is heaven.
I went to the bed and switched the lamps off. Kabir then took me in his arms and I slipped into deep slumber.
The next morning, I woke up at 8. Thank god. Kabir was nowhere to be seen.
"Must have gone downstairs." I said to myself.
I got ready in half an hour.
Shreya's dress-
By 8:35,I went downstairs to prepare breakfast along side bhabhi. We cooked Aloo parathas.
" Meri Ganga maiyaa, these ladies are again dressed like uncultured women." Bua dadi taunted.
I internally rolled my eyes and chose not to answer her.
" Mom, do you know that Shreya got a promotion yesterday?" Roshni bhabhi announced.
" Congartulations beta." Mom said enthusiastically. All others wished me too.
" Mom, I was thinking to go to mumma today. I have not informed her yet." I told mom.
" What is the need to think in this beta, ofcourse you should go." Dad said, Mom nodded.
" Kabir you accompany her." Mom told him.
" Mom, actually we have a very important meeting today." Siddharth bhai said.
" No problem mom, as it is I have my car." I told her.
" Yeah, If you call that thing a car, I will agree." Kabir remarked sarcastically.
I just rolled my eyes. But then I realised what I did!
Kabir was looking at me with his eyes darkened.
" I think I should leave." I said, getting up from the chair.
" Me too." Bhabhi said.
We rushed to our cars after we bid bye to everyone and touched bua dadi's feet.
" Welcome Shreya. I heard that you got a promotion." Mayank said as soon as I entered.
I nodded.
" Then you will be taking all of us for lunch right?" He asked, a little too innocently.
" Yes of-course she will." Vaibhav said exiting his cabin.
" Fine. Where do you want to go?" I asked them.
" The Good Food Co." Mayank said.
"Fine." I said.
We all worked till 1:30. Then Mayank barged into my cabin without knocking. I swear I would have told him off if he was not my friend from school.
We drove to the restaraunt. Within 2 hours, we were done and started back for the office.
" Shreya, Anika was calling you home today." Vaibhav sir said.
" Tell her that I will come tomorrow. Today I'm going to mumma's place." I told him. He nodded.
The rest of the day passed out real quick and It was time for my show, Primetime. I wrapped up my segment till 9 and left for mumma's house along with a huge Dairy Milk Silk.
" Sissy, what are you doing here? Did your in-laws finally threw you out of the house?" Rohit bhai asked as soon as he opened the door. This earned him a tight smack on his head by mumma.
" Come in Shreya." Mumma said.
" Mumma, ask everyone to gather in the living room ASAP." I told her.
" But what is the matter?" Mumma asked.
" First do as I say." I huffed.
" Fine." She nodded and went to call everyone.
" Princess, are you okay?" Papa asked.
" Yes papa, what will happen to me?" I asked him.
" I want to tell you a good news." I added.
" What! Are you going to become a mother?" Virat bhai asked shocked.
" What! No.!!" I exclaimed.
" Then what is it." Riya bhabhi asked me with a little dissapointment in her eyes.
" I got a promotion." I told them.
Everyone was very happy. Virat bhai held me from my shoulder and Rohit bhai took my legs and started swinging me.
" Accha, now enough of this. Shreya, the dinner is made. Eat here only today." Mumma said.
I nodded.
She had cooked my favourite dahi bhindi.
" I love you mumma." I said as I put the morsel of food in my mouth.
We then were done with the dinner.
" Shreya, You should leave now. It's very late." Mumma said.
" Mumma, why are you always so eager to kick me out?" I asked her.
" It is not my fault that you come here so late. Also, I don't want you to drive very late." She said.
" Fine. Byee." I said and hugged everyone. Jahanavi was watching Doremon and Little Samyak was fast asleep.
I reached home within 15 minutes.
" Shreya, go and wash your hands. I will set your plate." Mom said.
" Mom, actually I had dinner with mumma and papa." I said. She nodded.
" Mom you go and rest. I will keep the leftover food in the fridge and clean the kitchen." I said.
" Okay beta. Have a good night." Mom said and went to her room.
" After everything was done, I went to my room. Kabir was nowhere to be seen.
I returned from the washroom to find out that Kabir was standing near his closet.
" Mrs Rathore, What did I tell you about rolling your eyes at me?" He asked me seriously.
I gulped.
