They both sat outside the house, the faded sound of music reaching them, as he finished narrating his side of the story to her. She listened quietly until he was done. Soon, silence consumed them as she kept her mouth sealed, until Abuzar finally gave her a confused look.

"Feel better now?" She asked looking at him. He stared at her for a while before smiling at her. "More than I expected."

"I'm glad. See, sometimes letting it out through your mouth wouldn't hurt, but only make you feel lighter inside."

"Yeah, but right now I feel giddy on the inside because the girl sitting by my side is looking gorgeous tonight." He playfully smiled, completely turning the gloomy atmosphere into heavier one unlike his expectations to turn it lighter. Since Amarra's heart did another somersault at his compliment, her mind swirled with a million thoughts, her hands turned clammy due to being a nervous wreck.

Not receiving a reply from her, he tilted his face to confront her.

"May I ask you a question too then ma'am, because I think I also deserve an explanation for your behaviour earlier?"

"Hmm?" She gulped. Confess. That was what her heart told her. Should I?

Her mind was in a daze.

"Why did you want to break off our one in a trillion friendship bond?" He asked in an offended tone.

"Because..." Say it.

"Yes, because?" He raised his brows, his eyes focused on hers, as she fisted her dress, making eye contact with those hazel green pair of orbs glowing under the light.

"I love you." Not waiting to see his reaction nor wanting to face him with her red self, she sprinted inside the house doors leaving a completely flustered Abuzar behind.

Stupid. Idiot. Brain-dead. Wingless Chirya!

Amarra kept on cursing herself as she paced around her room. She was already home, it had been three hours since she had confessed, yet her heart felt like it's gonna jump out of her chest any moment. Her phone tinging with a notification had her screech as she impatiently grabbed it checking the message. Her heart lept to her throat as she read his message.

Hero:

Come outside.

He's outside her house? No way!

She hid herself with the wall, slowly peeping out of the window as he really stood there by the tree.

She glanced at her outfit, she should've changed into a better one. Why this strawberry hoodie and the old pajama? But that wasn't important right now, what would he say to her?

Not wanting to make him wait any longer, she sneaked out of her house, calming her nerves, she went outside the doors.

Clearing her throat, she grabbed his attention as he straightened up, gradually stepping towards her. He was as nervous as her right now. He didn't know if he was ready to face her or not, but he was just letting his heart guide him today, after years of suppressing it.

"Did you......mean it? What you said earlier today....I mean, in the sense I took it in-"

"Yes, I confessed to you. Not as a friend." She cleared his doubts, trying to sound as confident as possible. It's Abuzar afterall, not any other guy. He rubbed his face with his hands, sighing.

Stepping close to her, so that there was only one step gap between them, his hazel orbs gazed right into her shimmering brown ones under the full moonlight.

"I wouldn't say I love you because that's a phrase that broke us both into pieces. But since we both mended those pieces back together, I'd name our relation into a special phrase. I red you, Amarra. Red, since it is the colour of the heart, the colour of the blood, most importantly the colour of your favourite roses, simply the colour which represents love." He sincerely confessed to her in his own special way. She had woken up a new chapter in his life, given him a new hope, a new reason for survival in this lonely world.

"I red you too, Abuzar." She smiled, still in awe at his explanation. He always had her amazed by his words. Abuzar's face lit up with glee as opened his arms in the bliss of the moment, coming forward to hold her in his embrace.

"What the flip do you think you're doing?" She pushed his arms away, hugging her arms protectively, startled by his abrupt actions. Abuzar himself got staggered as he sheepishly grinned, scratching the back of his head. Amarra bit on her lip, restraining her laugh looking at his stunned expressions at his ownself.

"Oh and your favourite strawberry is red too, berry." He pointed at the strawberry on her hoodie as she laughed, and he gave her a toothy grin admiring her happy face which he could never get tired of.

Amarra got off her work early as she drove her way to the rose garden Abuzar had called her to. It had been three month since they had graduated and she had shifted to her own apartment near her working place. While Abuzar had also started up his own little business. They had been so busy throughout the last month that they barely got time to even meet. So she was really excited to see him today.

Sitting on a bench in the park, she messaged him asking where he was. Can this guy ever be on time? Just then she saw him jogging his way in the park, in his suit, but of course he had taken off the coat since being formal was never his style, his tie was also lose, but what caught her attention was the bouquet of red roses in his hand. Awe, how sweet of him to actually bring those for her.

"Am I late?" He asked as he neared her.

"No, not at all. You're just in time." She rolled her eyes getting up.

"Sorry. I had to count something, and it caused my perfect timing to mess up." He almost pouted as Amarra giggled.

"It's okay. I just arrived like some ten minutes ago. Anyways, is this for me?" She pointed at the bouquet in his hand as he passed her a playful grin. "Maybe?"

"Tch. Who else would you bring it for? Isn't this an old cliche, a man bringing a bouquet of red roses for his love." She pointed at him then cupped her cheeks mentioning his love.

"Not really. Mai yahan bechne ke liye bhi la sakta hun." He played around with her as she once again tsked, giving him a glare.

"I hope it doesn't look or sound much cliche if I hand this bouquet of ninety-nine roses to you and ask you, will you be the hundredth rose for me?" He presented the bouquet to her as she smiled rolling her eyes, accepting it gladly.

"I hope it wouldn't sound stupid if I ask, how may I become that hundredth rose?" She also playfully asked expecting for his answer to be something cringy like you already are the hundredth rose for me.

"And the answer is simple. By marrying me." He took out a rose from his back pocket, rolling it in his fingers.

"Did you just- Wait, this is so sudden! I wasn't expecting that." Amarra's eyes grew bigger by his sudden proposal.

"Yes, I'm proposing to you right now to become my other half." He licked his lips, preparing his nervous heart, as he kneeled on his one knee infront of her. Amarra jumped back covering her mouth with both her hands.

"Amarra, although I can't promise you a happily ever after since we both know life isn't always going to be a bed of roses, but I can promise you that you'll find me right there to protect you from the thorns if they ever try to inflict themselves in our life again. I'm so grateful that I found you, to have you in my life, like ever so grateful that I can't imagine my life without you being in it now. You're my everything, and I never want to lose you, my love." Amarra grabbed the rose from his hand, pulling him up by his hand, tears threatening to spill down her eyes.

"My heart is swollen with love. Your words, whatever you said for me, whatever you've done for me so far, literally means everything to me, Abuzar." She kept holding his hand, as he swirled it to have her hand above in his, the rose residing in between the intervened hands.

"No matter where life takes us to, I will always be there for you. No matter what obstacles life may throw at us, we will always overcome it all, because two is always better than one. And you plus me equals to an unbeatable and unstoppable team. I cherish you so much, berry." Amarra loudly let out a sob as he gave her a surprised look.

"Gosh! This was so the Abuzar style. Abrupt but dil ko kootne wala." She continued bawling loudly as he joined his lips together to control his laugh.

"You mean, choone wala." He corrected her, his thumb moving near her face, wiping the tears.

"Yeah same thing. My khalis Urdu is getting a lot better okay!" She hugged the bouquet closer to herself, her other hand still in his grip, while he cleaned her face.

"You know what's the most exciting part?" They started walking down the track around the park, as Amarra giggled.

"That I'm the groom!" Abuzar flipped back his hair, confidently giving her a smirk which she completely ignored.

"That I can touch your dimple whenever I want to without your permission nor complying to that one second rule!" She pointed at the side of his face as he frowned.

"Mujhse shaadi kar rahi ho, ya mere dimple se?" He folded his arms asking. Her light-hearted chuckle made his lips curve upwards as well, as his cheek dipped in the crescent shaped, displaying his dimple to her. She was his favourite smile, while he was hers as they stared at each other's smiling faces lovingly.

/Author's Note\

Let me j ✨cri✨

😭

That's the end of our berry×hero / Abura's tale of pain and love🥀

Hop y'all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it!💕

Also, they both stole my heart from Solar couple🌝

And an interesting fact, the author actually had much more to add up in Abuzar's past related to *ahem* his "friends" but since the story was too short to fit in too much, I decided to LET IT GOOO~

Oh, ofc I also made a vid edit for our Abura🥀 imma post it on my insta for y'all!🙊

Anyways, since the author is also very impulsive🐒 and very farigh (having a whole pile of assignments to do🙂) she'll definitely be back with the next one!

Sooner than you'll blink after reading this😼🚶‍♀️

So, stay tuned and ready!

TAKE CARE🥀
