"Meri baat suno tum Waleed ke bache! Agar tum poore ek ghante baad isi jagah par na huye mujhe pick karne, tou dekhna!!" Hoor pointed her index finger at her irresponsible son through the car's window while standing outside the shopping mall.

"Ap ka bacha hun mein." He murmured under his breath with double meaning behind his words. He knew his mother always lost track of time when shopping and she would never be out in an hour as said.

"Chalo ab jao. And no over speeding Waleed." Hoor warned as she properly set her dupatta and holding her shoulder bag started walking towards the mall's entrance and Waleed sped the car outside the parking area.

The mall was crowded with people even though it was a week day. Hoor casually roamed around the gifts' shops. She was there to buy a gift for the one year old birthday girl, since the party was on the weekend.

She saw a new gift shop's opening reaching the fourth floor of the humongous mall. Entering the shop, she saw the area for babies' products and made her way across to look around.

H for Hoor ki gift choice hai, kuch khaas hona chahiye. She thought with a pout, as nothing really caught her interest. It would also be from Dawood's side who was the host's boss, so she wanted to buy something special and worth it.

There was an electric baby swing bassinet on display as a newest product in the market. Hoor's eyes caught sight of it and she instantly knew that was what she had been looking for. She heard a worker talking in urdu on the phone so she signalled him over.

"Yeh check karwao mujhy." She said, pointing at the object of interest. The employee gave her a shocked look. "Kya? Aisy kyun dekh rahy ho bhai, mein thori ab issky andar fit aaun gi." She folded her arms.

"Quality check karni hai, show me how it works." She further elaborated. The worker reluctantly turned it on as Hoor observed the moving machine impressed. "Acha chalo ab yeh pack kar do." She smiled in satisfaction.

"Sorry ma'am, yeh last piece tha and it has already been sold." He picked it up to get it packed. Hoor let out a gasp. "Tou yeh tum mujhy pehly nai bata sakty thy?"

"Kis ny khareeda hai?" She felt disappointed at the loss. Only if she was a little early. The worker pointed at a guy waiting by the counter. He was wearing a suit, but had taken off his jacket, his shirt's sleeves folded till the elbow. Hoor's brows shot up. She knew to recognize a desi walaiti in this gora country.

She longingly looked at the baby cot, then glared at the back of the head of the man who took away her found treasure. As a sane person, she should've walked out of the shop to look for another gift, but who are we kidding, this was Hoor. Once she set her mind to one thing, there was no looking away from it.

The said man being Abuzar tapped his fingers over the counter with a small smile on his face. Amarra would definitely love the gift, she was looking up for babies' stuff online a few days ago and had come across a similar electric cot and wanted to buy it. Since Ayla loved being moved around and usually started crying when left idle for long.

Someone cleared their throat to grab his attention and he spun around to take a look. Hoor plastered her best fake smile on her face, showing her teeth. He gave her a confused look. She seemed like trouble, his senses were already alerted.

"Mery paas ek deal offer hai." She spoke still grinning at him, who now raised a brow at the woman. Placing an elbow over the counter behind him, he nodded at her to continue.

"Yeh tum mujhy dy do." She pointed at the, now packed cot, which the worker placed on the counter. Abuzar straightened up and returned a toothy grin as fake as hers back, "No, thanks."

"Mein tumhy extra pay karun gi." A naive offer.

"I'm not interested." He almost laughed.

"Double price?" She tried again and Abuzar gasped feigning surprise. What made this woman think money was the problem here?

"Still not interested." He chortled turning around. If he wouldn't have been getting late, he would've loved to play along with her in a more interesting way. Just when he was about to grab the package, it disappeared from his sight with a flying force.

"What even-" He staggered back staring at the crazy woman holding onto it like her life depended on it. He gave her a questioning look.

She turned around, struggling to hold the box while frantically searching for something in her bag.

"Yeh mujhy wapis karein." He demanded. She turned around and slapped her hand on the counter. Then stepped back with a proud look as Abuzar blinked at the money placed on the counter.

"Exact price hai. Utha lena. Yeh mein ly rahi hun." She stated and his jaw dropped. What was this woman?

"Yeh mein khareed chuka hun."

"Mein tumsy khareed rahi hun."

"I'm not willing to sell it."

"Koi nai, I'm willing to buy it."

"Dekhein," he closed his eyes and heaved a sigh to calm down. She might have a mental condition for acting this way. "Aap ky saath kon hai?"

"Kya matlab? Mein khud aai hun."

"Akely tou nai aany dena chahiye iss mental condition mein." He murmured and it was time for Hoor to stare at him in shock.

"Oye. Mein tumhy mental lagti hun?"

"Nai." He quickly shook his head. "Lagti nai hein, ap hein." He said with a sarcastic smile.

"Badtameez namoonay!"

"Yahan asal namoona kon hai." He muttered.

"Peechy hat jao mery saamny sy." She was red with anger now. She tried to walk past him but he stepped forward.

"Meine yahan lait jana hai agar aap ne yeh mujhe wapis nahi pakraaya!" He exclaimed dramatically and Hoor rolled her eyes, still hugging the wanted treasure close to herself.

"Mein tumhare uper se tap jaun gi, ab peeche hatto!" She waved her hand frantically as Abuzar stood there with a hanging mouth in utter disbelief.

"Yeh zyadti kar rahi hein ab aap!" He cried out stepping in her way as she tried walking past him again.

"Uff! Aik baat batao tum?" She scowled. Why couldn't this stubborn man just let her have it and grab the money. "Bachpan se hi itne deeth ho ya ab speed pakri hai?"

"Nahi mein bachpan se hi barra deeth hun." Abuzar gritted his teeth, he should be nice, asking kindly would make her give in. "I never give up on my things, so please?"

"Wah! Same to same bhae. Mein bhi give up karne walon mai se thori hun." She chinned up smugly shifting the bag under her right arm.

"Dekhein, aap meri baat sunein!" He was losing his mind wondering, kis gunnah ki saza mil rahi hai mujhy?

"Nahi sunni!" Hoor shrugged him off with her free hand.

"Listen, I'm getting late. Mujhe jaldi hai so aap kisi aur shop mai jaake kyun nahi-"

"Tou? Mera masla tou nahi hai wo! Khud kisi aur shop mai chale jao!"

"Yar!" Abuzar rubbed his hands over his face, turning around.

"Chalo peeche hatto, mein nikal jaun phir yeh drame kar lena." Hoor stepped forward to walk out but her grip on the gift box loosened and the next minute she was left speechless when it disappeared from her hold.

Abuzar had a tight hold on his gift now as he ran towards the door of the shop, turned around, stuck his tongue out at the mental lady who was raging now. He almost slipped when he saw her stomp her way out behind him.

God, his image would be in ruins if he was seen bolting in a mall because of a crazy woman. She definitely had high stamina for following behind him as he tried escaping from her to no avail running in circles on the same floor.

He thought she'd take the elevator down so he chose the escalator. But now they stood face to face near the escalator, both breathing heavily because of all the running.

"Kya cheez ho tum?"

"Kya cheez hein ap?"

They both said at the same time. Her predatory gaze was on the desired object in his hold, and he internally recited kalma. Bhaag ly beta.

She lunched forward and as he dodged her attack, he ended up hovering over the railing and her hand which was about to grab the gift ended up slamming onto it and they both watched with wide eyes as the gift flew into the air and launched itself farther all the way down to the ground floor.

"Lao jee. Ho gaya kaam tamam!" She broke the long moment of silence as their heads were ducked over the railing, watching the gift getting kicked to the side by the crowd. It was undoubtedly broken by now. His hazel green eyes snapped side-ways to glare at her.

She innocently shrugged, but deep inside, Hoor felt bad over her actions for the first time in her life. Poor man might've bought it for his own baby or something. She wasn't thinking about his side at all.

He mumbled something under his breath and started walking away towards the elevator. Hoor silently followed behind, feeling upset.

"Sarra mood kharab kar diya!" She complained out loud, shaking her head. Abuzar gave her a look of disbelief. Undoubtedly, his hunch was correct. This woman was abnormal for sure!

"You've kharabed my whole day ever since I met you, but do you see me complaining right now?" He retorted back, internally smacking himself. Amarra's speaking skills were indeed taking a toll on him and his language.

"Kia? Meine kia kiya hai, angrez ki aulad na ho tou." Hoor rolled her eyes, throwing another comment.

"Nahi, aapne tou kuch nahi kiya, sab kuch meine hi kiya hai na." Abuzar ran a frantic hand through his hair, rolling his eyes. He was reconsidering his life choices right now. The lift arrived and they both got in.

"Wese apas ki baat hai," she spoke in a hushed tone catching his attention again, "Mujhe wo kuch khaas acha nahi laga tha." She shrugged, in an attempt to sound cool. His mouth dropped open giving her another look of disbelief. She had to be joking.

"Meine apna sar phor dena hai ab!" He massaged his temple in an attempt to calm down.

"Arey, mai phor dun? Bohat maahir hun iss kaam mai. Meine aik baar na aik angrez ka sar phaara tha. Fazool mai taar raha tha. Aise logo ka phir yahi anjaam hota hai na. Lekin phir wo yeh England ki police hai na, wo bhi jahil hai. Mujhe pakar ke le gai violence ke case mai." The lift door opened as they reached the ground floor and she followed beside him continuing her story, which he was very uninterested in. "Phir mere husband hai na, bohat cute hain, wo mujhe churwane aye. Aur pata hai-"

"Nahi mujhe nahi pata aur na hi pata karwana hai. Aap ki inn kahaniyon mein mujhe koi dilchaspi nahi hai, aap bass chup kar jayein ab." He finally cut her off, stopping mid track as his slight chances of finding the box were thrown out of the window upon finding the box stompled on the side.

"Billi jesi ankhon waly. Kitny B for badtameez ho tum." She scoffed.

"Ya Allah! Kahan phas gaya hun mein?!" Abuzar paced forward again and she stuck to him like a magnet while continuing to complain.

"Aap ki non-stop bolne wali chabi stop karne ka koi raasta nai hai?"

"Tumne mujhe kisi ki yaad dila di."

"Meine?" They were out of the mall's exit now and Abuzar chanted alhumdulillah internally. He just had to get rid of this woman now.

"Nahi, yeh tumhare saath jin khara hai usse gappein maar rahi hun mai."

"Aap..." A long sigh. Breathe. "God! Yeh aap kisi ke sath bhi gappein marne lag jati hain agar wo aapko kisi ki yaad dilae?"

"Nahi tou." She folded her arms. "Har koi H for Hoor ki vibes thori pass karta hai."

"I don't know ke ise mein tareef samajh ke hasun ya rone beth jaun."

"Dekha, baatein bhi wese hi karte ho."

"Kesi?"

"Tha aik jahil, mera bhai. Uss jesi."

"Kia?" He held back a remark when it hit him. "Oh. Tha? Ab kia.....death ho gai?"

"Haye haye, nahi tauba! Zinda hoga, aise log itni jaldi thori marte hain."

"Kese log?"

"Chawal aur deeth log." Hoor casually said, but she felt nostalgic thinking of all the memories in her village and her bickerings with her brother. This stranger really did remind her of him.

"Acha. Phir tou aap ki bhi bohat lambi zindagi ho gi." He turned around to walk towards the parking area.

"Oye!" She paced behind him pointing a finger at his moving figure. "Zyada free hone ki zaroorat nahi hai!"

"Kyun? Ap ho sakti hain, tou mein kyun nahi? After all, aap ky bhai ki yaad dilata hun." He tilted his head to pass her a fake smile.

"Meine tumhara sar war phaar dena hai sach mai!" She threatened, boiling in annoyance and heat.

"Usski zaroorat nahi pare gi." He turned towards her to bid her a formal goodbye forever, because there was no way he'd want to have a second encounter with this woman. "Mujhe ijazat dijiye, Hoor sahiba. Umeed hai phir kabhi mulaqat nahi hogi humari."

"Bilkul! Ho gai tou aik piece mai nahi bacho ge tum." Hoor assured in a warning tone and started unzipping her bag to look for her phone to call Waleed.

"Wese bhi kaali billi ko baar baar thori raasta kaatne dete hain." Abuzar walked backwards, throwing the comment with voice full of mischief to annoy her and he was very much successful.

"Tumhe tou mai-" Hoor's widened eyes looked his way, but there was nothing she could throw at his head as he sprinted away laughing out loud. "Jahil! Kaali billi bol gaya mujhe!" She shook her head, pissed.

"Mr. Abuzar Shoaib. I've heard a lot about you. Accomplishing such milestone at your age is truly admirable." Dawood shook hands with Abuzar who was welcoming the guests by the entrance, both in formal wear.

"Thank you for the ego boost." Abuzar pulled him into a hug, and it took a moment for Dawood to pat his back letting the trance of awkwardness fade.

He then looked behind waiting for Hoor to join who was fixing her net dupatta and had told him to go ahead first. She gracefully walked in beside him, hand sliding around his elbow, the other clutching onto a gift bag. Abuzar tilted his head to welcome the guest but instead his eyes went wide.

"Tum?"

"Aap?"

They both gave each other a surprised look, yelling at the same time. Clearing his throat, he greeted her as more guests arrived and a shocked Hoor just entered in silence.

"Is there something wrong?" Dawood asked but Hoor just shrugged still not able to digest the fact that it was his daughter's birthday party. Of all the population in the world.

Soon, Dawood got busy with the guests from the company and Hoor stood by the drinks corner, burning holes at the side of Abuzar's head who could definitely feel the murderous gaze upon him.

"Hi." He finally approached her and grabbed a glass of drink. "What a not-so-pleasant surprise."

"Jee, mujhy bhi aap se mil kar bilkul bhi khushi nahi hui."

"Mutual feelings."

Silence under gritted teeth and annoyed stares.

"Kitni choti si dunya hai yeh, nahi?" He spoke first this time.

"Heina. Mujhe kia pata tha, mein tumhari hi beti ke gift ke liye tum hi se jhagar rahi thi."

"I didn't know, aap ke cute se husband, meri wife ke B for boss hain." A playful smile on his lips had her annoyance perk up instantly.

"Oye! Chup kar ke betho! Mujhe pata hai kia chal raha hai tumhare dimagh mai." She warned pointing a finger at him.

"Acha?"

"Meine tumhari naak tor deni hai."

"Bolta tou mein moun se hun."

"Naak toot gai tou bolne ke qabil nai raho ge!"

"Wese apas ki baat hai," he copied her tone from their meeting earlier with a sly smirk plastered on his face, "he doesn't look much of a cute type."

"Mujhe na lag raha hai tumhari harkatein dekh kar, ke tumhara qatal karna halal hoga." She whisper-yelled at him turning red with anger as he snorted in respone.

"Kaafi logon ko mujhse mil kar yahi lagta hai. Lekin ap apne cute husband-"

"Meine ab sach mai tumhara moun tor dena hai, jahil!" She cut him off, her face burning red. "Phir sy panga na karo mery saath."

"Excuse you, mall mein bhi aap hi ny mujhsy panga kiya tha."

"Dekho, uss time tum mujhe lene dete wo gift, tou end mai tumhare paas hi ata na, free mai." She rolled her eyes. "Ab dekho, kisi ke hath bhi nahi laga."

"I'd have to say, baat tou sahi hai."

"Mein hamesha sahi baat hi karti hun."

"Ab aisi bhi baat nahi hai."

"Abuzar?" Amarra called out from a distance standing by the guests, waving her hand to usher him there.

"Chalo jao, biwi bula rahi hai tumhari." Hoor shoo-ed him away and Abuzar left with the intention of teasing her later as revenge for ruining his gift and day. Her reactions were somewhat enjoyable to watch.

Hoor's attention was now diverted towards her husband who had been busy with the guests, males and females included. He had been considerate enough to pass a few glances her way every now and then. But Hoor wasn't naive, she knew he was looking only to make sure she isn't near to causing any trouble. Yet.

"Kuch chahiye aap ko?" He asked, finally coming towards her. She bit the insides of her cheeks, trying to keep her cool.

"Khud ko de deinge?" She asked with raised brows, looking at his face to get a satisfied smirk in response.

"Mein tou aapka hi hun." He winked, and stood beside her holding her by her waist, making her taken aback by the response and action. Blushing, she smiled at his melting techniques which always made her heart flutter and cooled her down.

"Your boss' wife is crazy. Screw dheela hai dimag ka." Abuzar whispered into Amarra's ear and she gasped, stepping on his foot.

"Gandi baat hai, Abuzar."

"Yeh galat harkat bhi gandi hai, berry." He whined, his foot in the air. Planting it back on the ground, he passed a tight smile towards the guests. They were receiving the gifts for the birthday girl.

"Thank you so much for the lovely gift." Amarra kindly smiled as Hoor passed the gift bag to her which had a baby shower, clothing set with other necessary small sized toiletries for the girl.

"My pleasure. Itni payari beti hai, Masha'Allah." Hoor tapped Ayla's cheek, adoring the baby. "Bilkul apni mama pe gai hai," She looked up, directly at Abuzar before muttering, "Allah ke shukar se."

"You're too sweet. Thank you." Amarra didn't catch the double meaning behind her words.

"Ankhein apny baba par hi gai hein." Abuzar flashed her a smug smile. Hoor wasn't going to stay silent so she non chalantly begin telling.

"Arrey asal mein na, meiny issky liye kuch aur pasand kya tha, lekin koi ajeeb jahil aadmi mil gaya mujhy jisny gift ka hi satia naas kar dia." She grinned when Abuzar's mouth hung open at her exaggerated lie.

"Hoor." Dawood poked her in the arm for bringing it up after handing the gift.

"Ah, I forgot to mention it too. Meiny bhi Ayla ky liye ek perfect gift select kiya tha, lekin koi ajeeb deeth aurat mil gai mujhy-"

"Abuzar." Amarra elbowed him, but her brows knitted together in confusion and surprise looking between the two.

"Wait, why does it seem like you both are talking about.." Dawood was also able to catch up on the point as he completed, "each other?"

"Because we are, love." Abuzar replied, popping his chin towards her.

"Oh. So you mean you both had a fight over Ayla's gift?" She inquired in surprise. "Yes."

"That's a big coincidence. Wo kehty hein na, dunya..." she bit on her lip, thinking over the right word to complete the phrase, "ball jesi hai?"

"Gol hai." Abuzar whispered near her ear.

"Goal?"

"Wo wala goal nai," He pursed his lips before correcting her, "G.O.L, round."

"Han, G for gol hai dunya. Apni pyaari zaban bola karo, kya yahan wesy hi angrezon ko sun sun kar kaan thak jaty hein." Hoor didn't hide her disappointment.

"Usska M for mouth aur T for tongue hai, aap ko kyun badhazmi ho rahi hai?" Abuzar was quick to get defensive and replied with full sass.

"Wesy barra moun phatt hai tumhara husband." Hoor gasped. She was annoyed at the fact he was copying her way of talking on purpose.

"Moun what?" Amarra asked looking at Abuzar.

"Foul mouthed." Hoor translated smiling. Amarra chuckled covering her mouth in surprise.

"It's not funny." Abuzar gave them a straight look.

"Ofo, mall mein bhi fight tumhi ne shuru kia ho ga." She said in a scolding tone. "I apologize for his beha-"

"Excuse me? Oh khodaya! Are you kidding me right now? Tumhe lagta hai mein shuru kar sakta hun?" He pointed at himself like it was something so out of his league.

"No, I can assure you it must've been my dramatic wife who would"ve started it. You don't need to apologize." Dawood added to put an end to the conversation.

"Oh hello? Haye mere Allah." Hoor pinched his arm, pulling him near to whisper-yell in his ear, "Apko kese pata ke meiny shuru ki thi? Wo chorein, meri side leni chahiye na abhi tou." She drew back to give him a disapproving look.

"Wesy," Abuzar spoke loud enough for them to hear, "you've a cute boss." Hoor's face flushed.

"Wesy sahi kehty hein." She took a step froward towards the table, "Laaton ky booth, baaton sy nai maanty."

Her hand attacked the cake to grab a piece, catching her prey under her deathly glare. Abuzar gasped, his eyeballs bulging out of their sockets.

"Hoor, don't-" It was too late for Dawood to intervene as the cake slammed into Abuzar's face, dropping over his suit, ruining it. The next minute, the other side of the cake was destroyed by a fist, and it was Hoor's turn to let out a horrified gasp and get hit by instant tit for tat.

"Oh God!" Amarra startled as Hoor ran a hand over her eyes to remove the cake off. Just when Hoor threw the cake at him again, Amarra who had stepped forward to stop them got hit instead. Abuzar took the opportunity to involve Dawood in it by getting a wrong shot on purpose. And then, just like that, there cake fight begun as the guests watched in amusement.

It was a mess. A beautiful mess. Filled with their laughter. The little birthday girl had a wide grin on her tiny face showing her gum, her sparkly eyes shining, cheeks squished, her tiny hands in a fist dancing up and down while watching happily.
